Lucas stared at his phone on the floor, his mind racing. His father would never betray him like that. Not after all these years of protection. Not when it would destroy the Sterling family's reputation.

"My father wouldn't do that," Lucas said to himself, shaking his head. "He's always treated me like gold. He's protected me from everything. Why would he change now?"

Lucas picked up his phone and checked it for damage. The screen was cracked but still working.

"Even if the police come for me, it’ll only be because of tonight—the kidnapping, the shooting at the hotel. Father would never tell them about my other business. Never. And he’ll get me out of what happened tonight too, just like he always does."

Lucas felt his breathing return to normal. His father was probably already calling lawyers. Even if he threatened to disown him afterward, Lucas knew his father would still pull him out of this mess.

Damon smirked at Lucas's desperate question. "I don't know your half-brother," he said calmly. "And I'm definitely not him."Lucas struggled to sit up straighter against the wall, his eyes burning with hatred. "You're lying. You know too much about our family.""Even if I did know him," Damon continued, "why would you think I'd tell you anything?"Lucas's face twisted into a dangerous smile despite his injuries. "Because you need to tell me where he is so I can kill him before my father finds him."Celia gasped from behind Damon. "What are you talking about? Why would you want to kill your own brother?""He's not supposed to exist anymore," Lucas spat, glaring at her. "I can't let anyone take my place in the Sterling family. I'll do anything to protect what's mine."Lucas turned back to Damon, his voice becoming more threatening. "You'd better tell me the truth right now. Tell me where my half-brother is, and I'll spare your life.""Spare my life?" Damon laughed coldly. "You're threat

Damon stood over Lucas, calm but furious. He grabbed him by the collar, pulled him up a bit, and then slammed a punch into his ribs.Lucas gasped and doubled over, but Damon's expression remained blank."Damon, please stop," Celia said, her voice trembling. "You're going to hurt him too badly. The police will think we're the criminals if they find him like this."Damon released Lucas, letting him fall back to the concrete floor. He turned his head toward Celia but kept his eyes on Lucas."Don't worry about the police," Damon said, his voice steady. "They won't do anything. I wouldn’t be satisfied if they just took him away without me delivering his punishment first."He grabbed Lucas again and delivered another precise blow to his shoulder. Lucas cried out but Damon's face showed no emotion."I'm going to keep punishing you until the police arrive to collect what's left of you," Damon said quietly.Lucas tried to crawl away but Damon stepped on his hand, pinning him in place.“Get thi

Damon approached the third building. The darkness shrouded everything except for the slight beam of his car's light slicing through the darkness. That was when he saw it.Lucas's car was parked in the distance, a faint light emanating from one of the windows. Damon exhales sharply."Finally found you, Celia." His voice was barely above a whisper, but the rage beneath it burned like acid. "If that bastard has laid even a finger on you, I'll tear his hands off and watch him bleed out. Nobody touches what's mine. Nobody."His fists clenched until his knuckles went white. He didn't care that he'd just claimed her. Didn't care that their relationship was supposed to be fake. Right now, Celia was his to protect. Not because she'd saved him before, but because every fiber of his being screamed that she belonged with him.Damon reached the door and twisted the handle. Locked from the inside.Another wave of fury crashed over him. "Of course you locked it, you coward." He stepped back, scanni

Edward Sterling walked into the central police station with the weight of a decision that would change everything. His steps were firm, but his face showed the toll of what he was about to do.Detective Morrison looked up from his desk, clearly surprised to see one of the city's most powerful men walking into the station at this hour."Mr. Sterling?" Detective Morrison stood up in haste, lowering his gaze respectfully. "It’s an honor to see you here. Is there something I can help you with?""Yes. I need to file a formal complaint against my son Lucas for kidnapping and orchestrating an attack at the Grand Meridian Hotel tonight."The detective's mouth fell open. In his twenty years on the force, he had never seen a patriarch of a major family come in to turn against his own heir."Sir, are you certain about this? Once we file these charges, there's no taking them back."Edward placed a folder on the detective's desk. "I'm certain. This contains security footage from the hotel, witness

The Thorne family living room had become a battleground. Serena sat comfortably on the expensive leather couch, her legs crossed, watching the family's growing panic with satisfaction."You need to leave this house immediately," Mr. Thorne said, his voice shaking with rage. "I'm calling security to have you removed.""Go ahead and call them," Serena replied calmly. "But before you do, let me tell you about the interesting documents I found in Michael's room. Documents about your company's tax evasion and the bribes you've been paying to city officials."Mr. Thorne froze, his hand halfway to his phone."What documents?" Mrs. Thorne asked, her voice barely a whisper.Serena smiled wider. "Michael showed me everything when he was trying to impress me. Bank records, email communications, and even recorded phone calls with the officials. Did you really think Michael would keep secrets from his future wife?"Michael's face went pale. "Serena, what are you doing? Those documents were confide
