Celia’s face flushed with anger, but before she could open her mouth, Damon spoke—calm, but with a quiet force that silenced everything around him.

“Funny,” he said, eyes locked on Serena’s with cool expression. “You’ve always had a talent for talking down to others. But that won’t open any doors for you.” He took Celia’s hand gently, then added, “Let’s see who really belongs here.”

Then, without another glance at Serena or Michael, he turned and walked forward with Celia by his side.

Serena crossed her arms smugly, She watched them go, expecting security to step in at any moment. Surely, they would be stopped just like she and Michael had been. Surely, they would be turned away.

But that didn’t happen.

The security guards—who had interrogated Serena and Michael just minutes ago—didn’t even blink. Without hesitation, they stepped aside with respectful nods, opening the path without a word. The sleek glass doors slid open smoothly, almost ceremoniously, bathing Damon and Celia in a war

Celia's heart pounded as she stared at Hunter. She couldn't believe he was standing right in front of her after all these years. The boy who had been her best friend, the one she had secretly liked before his family moved away without warning."Hunter, what are you doing here?" Celia asked, trying to keep her voice steady.Hunter smiled, but it looked sad. "I live here now. I bought this house six months ago but, Mr. Damon..." Celia spoke up before Hunter could finish."You bought it?" Celia's eyes went wide. "You're the one who owns my family's old house?""I didn’t know it was your family’s house when I bought it," Hunter explained quickly. "I just saw it was for sale, and something about it felt right. I've been searching for you everywhere, Celia. I even hired people to find you, but no one could track you down."Damon stepped closer to Celia, his jaw tight. He didn't like how Hunter was looking at her, and he definitely didn't like the way Celia was looking back at him."Why wer

"Damon, this is the road to my family’s old house. What are we doing here?" Celia asked, her voice tightening as she recognized the familiar path. The road was leading exactly to the place that had been on her mind for years, and she couldn’t keep quiet anymore."Yes, it is, Celia. Just wait… you’ll find out where we’re going," Damon replied calmly, his eyes fixed on the road.Celia let out a slow sigh. She turned her face to the window, watching the surroundings slip past. They drove by the very spot where she once handed a starving boy a piece of bread, the place where she unknowingly saved his life. A small, bittersweet smile touched her lips as the memories washed over her.Who would have ever thought that boy was Damon, and that she was the little girl who had saved him?Damon’s voice pulled her back to the present, and she turned to face him."I’m glad you still remember this place… because it means everything to me. It’s where I first met you," he said quietly.Celia’s smile wi

Damon got into his car and released a slow breath. It was another day, and he wondered what would happen today, what drama and what problems might come. But he quickly shook the thought away, because no matter what happened, he was going to handle it—or even stop it before it started. He would never let Celia worry again.“Damn it, Anthony hasn’t called me yet,” Damon muttered as he pulled out his phone, ready to dial his number. Just then, it started to ring. It was Anthony.“Damon…” Anthony began. In order not to offend him, he had gotten used to calling him by his name, just as Damon had requested.“I was just about to call you. How is it?” Damon asked.“I needed to make sure everything was ready and perfect before I contacted you. But now it is. All the documents are ready, and everything is officially yours,” Anthony said.“Good,” Damon replied. “I’ll call you if I need anything else.”“Okay, Damon,” Anthony said, and the call ended.“I’m very sure Celia is going to love this, an

Michael pushed open the door to his mother's room. Mrs. Thorne lay propped against pillows, her face pale but alert, what if Serena comes back now? When she saw him, her expression shifted from exhaustion to something harder."Close the door," she said.Michael did, then moved to her bedside. "How are you feeling?""Like someone tried to kill me." Her eyes were sharp despite her weakened state. "Because someone did."Michael's stomach dropped. "What?""That woman. Serena." Mrs. Thorne's hand gripped the bed rail. "She came in here yesterday. I was barely conscious, but I remember. She stood over me. She said something about how I should have treated her better. Then she tried to stab me in the neck, Michael—she tried to kill me...""Mom—""I know what I saw." Mrs. Thorne's voice cracked. “I tried to move, I tried to call for help, but I couldn’t. I could see it in her eyes; she would have killed me if something hadn’t interrupted her. Then I passed out.”Michael felt cold spread throu

Serena sat on the hospital bed, her fingers tracing circles over her still-flat stomach. A smirk played at the corners of her mouth as she watched Michael pack her belongings into a small duffel bag. Everything had changed so fast. Just yesterday, he’d been cold and distant, talking about walking away because he blamed her for what they had both caused. She was glad she didn’t let him. Now he was fussing over her pillows, asking if she needed water, making sure she had everything. All because of the baby. "You comfortable?" Michael asked without looking up. "Yeah." Serena's smirk widened. "Just thinking about how lucky our baby is going to be. Having both of us." Michael's hands paused for just a second on the zipper. "Yeah. Lucky." Inside, he wanted to laugh. Lucky? The kid would be lucky if Serena wasn't around to poison it with her schemes and manipulation. But she didn't need to know that yet. Let her think she'd won. Let her believe the baby had secured her place by his si

"Alexander, I'll do it."Vivienne forced the words out, her throat tightening as they broke out of her mouth.Alexander's finger relaxed slightly on the trigger. "What did you say?""I said I'll do it." Vivienne's voice was hollow now, emptied of everything except resignation. "I'll cut Damon out of my life. I won't see him anymore. I won't talk to him. I'll only speak to women from now on, just like you want."She couldn't look at Damon as she said it. Couldn't bear to see whatever expression was on his face."Vivienne—" Damon started with a scoff."Don't." Her voice cracked. "Please don't make this harder than it already is."Alexander slowly lowered the gun, a triumphant smile spreading across his face. The kind of smile that made Vivienne's stomach turn."I knew you'd make the right choice," Alexander said, stepping toward her. "You see? This is why we're perfect for each other. You understand what needs to be done."He reached out to touch her face, but Vivienne stepped back inst
