Leon tilted his head slightly, lips curling into the faintest, amused smile. She didn’t know it yet, but she was about to eat every word.

“Right,” he said calmly. “Now I remember. Isabella mentioned you once, said you were a ‘friend’ who was never really in league with her. I guess she was being polite. Between the two of us, we might be similar in one way… except you’re worse.”

Mila flinched at that, a flicker of panic crossing her face. “Shut up,” she snapped sharply, cutting him off, her voice a little too quick, like she was afraid of what else he might reveal.

‘What exactly had Isabella told him?’

Leon let out a soft chuckle, shaking his head. “The disrespect. You mortals really are something else.” His tone turned dry. “Anyway, since you’re done judging me, could you move aside? I came to buy a car.”

That line stunned all four of them into silence.

They blinked in disbelief, staring at him like he’d grown a second head.

Leon’s words… she had become a priority to him?Diane glanced up at him again, her eyes wide and shimmering with surprise. She could feel her heart pounding harder in her chest, and butterflies dancing in her stomach, but she managed a nod. “Okay… if that’s what you really want.”He nodded back, satisfied. “Good. Then I’ll be on my way.”He turned to leave, but not before casting a glance at the slightly ajar front door. The door suddenly creaked closed with a soft click, and Leon let out a quiet chuckle. He knew her parents had been peeking in on their conversations. He just shook his head and walked away, leaving Diane standing in the doorway still holding the black card, still blushing, and still smiling. As Diane entered inside the house, both Donald and Abigail turned to look at her with questioning expressions, eyebrows raised in perfect sync.“That man is certainly becoming a regular fixture in our lives,” Donald remarked, crossing his arms as he gave her a pointed look. “Are

“What nonsense are you spouting?!” Brianna snapped, her voice rising. “We don’t do things like that here!” the bodyguard added, his tone defensive. Leon shook his head, amusement playing on his lips. “Right. Because corruption never exists behind counters and uniforms. This era just keeps getting amusing by the second.” Then, turning to Diane, he pointed at the bundle of clothes still held by the guard. “Those are the clothes she picked, right?” Diane nodded slowly. “Yes… those are the ones.” “Good. Then bag them all,” Leon said, reaching into his pocket and handing Diane a black card. “She’s going to pay for them.” Isabella’s brow furrowed in shock. Victor’s jaw tightened, still trying to piece together how this was even possible. And Brianna… her face paled with shock. This wasn’t how it was supposed to go. Diane took the card slowly, eyes full of uncertainty. “Leon… are you sure?” Leon gave her a reassuring nod and gestured toward the cashier. “Since you are here,

Leon let out a dry laugh. “Of course you didn’t. You were probably paid to not see it. Was that it? Leon let out a quiet sigh, then calmly walked over to Diane, his sharp gaze fixed on the officer still holding her arm.“I said—let her go,” he repeated, this time with a tone that carried weight, his eyes narrowing with warning. The officer blinked, clearly startled by the intensity in Leon’s eyes, and immediately released Diane’s arm.Diane let out a deep sigh, the tension melting from her shoulders as Leon stepped beside her. In that moment, just having him there gave her the reassurance she desperately needed that everything was going to be alright.Victor stared at Leon in complete disbelief, his jaw slightly slack. Leon was alive. Standing. Breathing. It was downright impossible. He had watched the life drain from Leon’s eyes after pulling the trigger… had personally dumped his body into the sea. ‘What in the hell is going on?’Leon casually shifted his gaze across the trio standing before him—Brianna, Isabella, and finally Victor. His eyes lingered on Victor for a moment, an

“What?” Diane blinked, completely baffled. “What do you mean, ‘what am I doing here’? I’m here because you brought me. You told me to come.”“What?!” Brianna shouted. “Brought you here?! Why on earth would I bring a cheap, desperate nobody here?! Are you insane or do you even hear yourself?! In what part of the universe have we ever gotten along that I would bring you here to a place like this? Have you gone insane, or do you just enjoy embarrassing yourself in public?”Diane froze, her mind reeling as Brianna’s cruel words echoed in her ears. Her heart felt like it dropped to the floor. But no matter how stunned she was, one thing became crystal clear—Brianna had orchestrated this entire thing. She had been played.Tears stung Diane’s eyes, and she blinked hard as they rolled down her cheeks. “You… I see what’s going on here. You set me up,” she whispered, pain lacing her voice. “How could you do something like this to me?”Brianna scoffed and crossed her arms. “I have no idea what
