Chapter 2: The God's Slap

...his body went flying a good fifteen feet backward, slamming into the hood of that black SUV so hard it completely caved in! The sickening crunch of metal grinding against human bone echoed down the narrow alley, followed by a heavy, dead silence. A few seconds later, absolute panic broke out.

"Boss! Holy shit, the boss is dead?!"

"This is insane! He did that with one hand, bro! Shoot! Light his ass up! Don't hold back!"

Zolda just stood there, letting the drizzle wash over a face that was now colder than ice. His golden eyes gleamed in the dark, sweeping over the remaining safari-suited goons who were starting to shake in their boots.

"Shoot? You really wanna waste more bullets on me?" Zolda scoffed, his voice sounding like a literal death whisper in their ears.

"Shut your mouth, trash! You're dead! BANG! BANG! BANG!"

Three of the suits pulled their triggers at the same time, firing blindly. Hot lead tore through the rain, heading straight for Zolda's chest and head. But through Zolda's eyes, the whole world looked like it was running in slow motion. Every bullet's trajectory was lit up like a bright red laser line cutting through the air.

"Too damn slow, monkeys. You guys practice shooting at a carnival or something?" Zolda shifted his body with a movement so impossibly fast, a regular human eye couldn't even track it.

Whoosh! Whoosh!

"What the hell?! Where is he?! Where did that kid go?!" one of the shooters yelled, panicking as he whipped his head left and right.

"I'm right here, idiot. Behind you."

"Huh?! Since wh—"

CRACK!

Zolda didn't give him a second to finish. With a quick pivot, he brought the edge of his palm down hard on the back of the guy's neck. The sound of snapping vertebrae was sickeningly crisp, and the dude dropped to the asphalt like a sack of potatoes.

"That's one. Two left. You guys wanna surrender, or do you want me to turn you into alley decorations?" Zolda locked eyes with the last two goons, flashing a grin that would give anyone goosebumps.

"You... you're a demon! You're using some voodoo black magic! Ain't no way a normal guy catches bullets and teleports like that!" The other guy literally pissed his pants, the sharp smell of urine mixing with the metallic scent of blood.

"Black magic? Nah, bitch. This is just called overdue karma. Now you get to feel what it's like to be the weak ones you love to step on!"

Zolda blitzed forward. He didn't even use a heavy punch this time. His fingers moved like lethal acupuncture needles. Jab! Jab! Jab! He tapped three specific nerve clusters on the guy's chest and stomach with pure, concentrated force.

"Ugh... cough! What... what did you do to me... why... why can't I breathe?!" The guy clutched his throat, his face turning Smurf-blue in seconds.

"That's called a qi blockage in your lungs. You got exactly three minutes before your brain flatlines from oxygen deprivation. Fun, right? Enjoy gasping for your life!" Zolda left the guy thrashing on the ground and turned to the final pursuer. The dude was still standing, but his hands were shaking so hard he could barely hold his gun.

"Stay... stay the hell back! I'll shoot, I swear! I'll shoot!"

"Do it. But just a heads-up, you only got one bullet left in the chamber. You miss, and I'm gonna pop every single joint in your body out of its socket, one by one. Wanna test your luck?"

"Aaaarrghhh! Die, you freak!!!"

CLICK!

The gun jammed. The suit's eyes practically popped out of his skull, his face turning pale as a ghost. "What the?! A jam?! How?!"

"Because my finger already tapped your barrel when I blew past you a second ago. You were just too stupid to notice. Anyway, I'm sick of looking at your face."

Zolda whipped his hand around and delivered a brutal backhand slap to the guy's face. SMACK! This wasn't just a regular pimp slap; the sheer force from the Divine Healer's legacy shattered the guy's teeth and sent him spinning through the air before he crash-landed hard onto a pile of trash bags.

"Done. Fucking scrubs, you're only tough when you're jumping someone," Zolda muttered, dusting off his hands.

He turned around, suddenly remembering the woman who had face-planted in front of him earlier. The lady in the red dress, Navi, was lying there limp, barely breathing. Her flawless pale skin was now showing nasty, dark-purple veins bulging around her neck and arms.

"Hey, lady! Yo, wake up! Don't go dying on me here, I'm the one who's gonna get blamed for this mess!" Zolda dropped to one knee beside her, his Kunao Inner Eye automatically scanning her body's condition.

"Help... me... so cold... it hurts so bad..." Navi mumbled weakly, her eyes half-closed, pupils shrinking to pinpricks.

"Damn, this ain't your average street poison. Nine Heavens Black Scorpion? What kind of psycho gives this to a chick as pretty as you?" Zolda frowned. Through his inner sight, he could see a thick, pitch-black sludge racing straight toward her heart.

"Who... who are you? You gonna... kill me too?" Navi grabbed the sleeve of Zolda's crusty jacket with whatever strength she had left.

"If I wanted to kill you, I'd just let you die out here, gorgeous. Just chill and stop talking. I'm gonna neutralize the poison in your system."

"You can't... the doctors said... there's no cure... cough!" Navi coughed up a mouthful of foul-smelling, black blood.

"The doctors you know are a bunch of quacks. When you're in front of me, even the Grim Reaper has to wait in line until I say it's your time to go! Grip my shoulder tight, this is gonna sting a bit."

Zolda reached into the pocket of his beat-up jacket and pulled out several silver needles that seemed to just spawn out of nowhere—like his stash came from another dimension. With insanely fast and precise movements, he drove the needles into vital pressure points around Navi's chest and neck.

"AHHHH! It hurts! Are... are you crazy?! You trying to stab me to death?!" Navi screamed, her body arching off the ground from the intense pain.

"Shut up! If I didn't stick you right now, that poison would've melted your heart in ten seconds flat! Endure it, stop being a baby!" Zolda snapped back, his hands completely steady despite her thrashing.

"But... it burns... feels like I'm on fire..."

"That means your blood is actually circulating again. Look at that!" Zolda pointed at her pinky finger. Thick black blood was starting to drip out from under her fingernail.

Navi panted heavily, completely drenched in a cold sweat. Slowly, the purple veins on her skin started to fade, replaced by a natural, healthy flush. She stared at Zolda with a totally unreadable look—a mix of fear, disbelief, and pure awe.

"Did you... did you seriously just cure me? How is that even possible? Top-tier foreign medical experts told me I only had a week left..."

"I ain't some fancy foreign doctor who just knows textbook theory. I'm Zolda. And starting right now, your life belongs to me. Got it?"

Navi tried to sit up, even though she was still weak. "Who the hell are you really? Those guys earlier... they were high-level corporate hitmen from the Wijaya family. You just made an enemy out of a giant, you know that?"

"Mr. Wijaya? Oh, you mean that bald bastard whose factory waste is poisoning the locals? Good. Might as well crush him down to the roots while I'm at it." Zolda stood up, offering his hand to help Navi get to her feet.

"You're cocky as hell, you know that? But... thanks. I'm Navi. You seriously don't know who I am?" Navi looked at him, eyebrows furrowed, shocked that this scruffy kid didn't react to her name at all.

"Who are you supposed to be? An OnlyFans model? Or an influencer abusing I*******m filters?" Zolda asked innocently, brushing dirt off his pants.

"Holy shit! You're really... I'm the sole heir to the Mega Citra Group! Well, I mean, I was... before they framed me and stole everything," Navi's voice trailed off at the end, her eyes flashing with deep, burning vengeance.

"Oh, so you're a rich princess who got thrown out? Sounds like a soap opera. So what's the plan now? You gonna go back home crying and beg for forgiveness?"

"Hell no! I want every single one of them groveling at my feet! I want to watch them suffer a thousand times worse than what I went through!" Navi clenched her fists, her eyes practically shooting fire.

"Now we're talking. That takes some balls. I like your style. But right now, you need to bounce before that deadbeat's buddies show up with an army."

"What about you? You coming with me? I got a safehouse those roaches will never be able to breach."

"Go with you? How much are you planning to pay me to be your bodyguard and personal doctor? I don't come cheap, you know!" Zolda flashed a cheeky grin, his white teeth glowing under the dim streetlights.

"Whatever you want! Wealth, power, or... even me, if you've actually got what it takes to protect me until I take my throne back!" Navi challenged, stepping up close to him. The scent of her expensive perfume started mixing with the smell of the rain.

Zolda paused for a second, staring deep into her eyes using the Kunao Inner Eye. He could see the ambition, the genius-level intellect, and the fierce loyalty hiding behind her emotional scars. This was a god-sent opportunity to build his own empire.

"Alright, deal. But remember one thing, Navi. In this alliance, I'm the boss. You're the brains behind the scenes, but if I say we crush something, we crush it. No negotiations. Cool?"

"Cool. Besides, with you flexing monster strength like that, who'd be stupid enough to disagree?" Navi gave a slight, deadly smirk.

Suddenly, the roar of multiple car engines echoed from down the street. High-beam headlights started sweeping into the alley, shattering the darkness. There had to be at least ten vehicles rolling up on them.

"Shit! They got here fast! That's definitely the Wijaya family's elite squad! We gotta bounce through the back alleys!" Navi panicked, grabbing Zolda's arm.

"Back alleys? For what? So they think we're scared?" Zolda actually stepped forward, facing the blinding headlights head-on.

"Are you insane?! There are dozens of heavily armed guys out there, Zolda! You're strong, but these guys are pros!"

"Pros at dying, you mean? Navi, stay behind me. I'm gonna show you how to take out the city's trash in under sixty seconds."

Zolda spread his arms. Golden energy started pumping furiously from his heart all the way down to his fingertips. The air around them instantly got scorchingly hot, like the oxygen in the alley was being burned away.

"Hey! That's the guy! Light him up!!!" someone yelled from behind the blinding lights.

Several dudes strapped in Kevlar hopped out of the cars, racking assault rifles. They aimed and got ready to fire without warning.

"Zolda, watch out!!!" Navi screamed hysterically, covering her eyes.

But before the first bullet could even leave the muzzle, Zolda shot forward like a lightning bolt in the dead of night. Mini shockwaves popped off every time his palms slammed into the chests of the tactical squad. One by one, they got launched into the air like broken ragdolls.

"Weak! Way too weak!" Zolda roared over the chaos. "Where are the 'elites'?! Come at me all at once so I can send you all to hell together!"

In the middle of Zolda's rampage, a stray bullet flew from a blind spot, aiming right for Navi's back as she stood there frozen in shock. Zolda caught it at the very last millisecond—he leaped, snatched the hot bullet right out of the air with his teeth, and spat it back at the shooter at double the speed.

Thwack! The bullet buried itself dead-center in the shooter's forehead.

"Holy shit... he just caught a bullet with his teeth?!" one of the last remaining squad members dropped his rifle, his knees giving out instantly.

Zolda stood on top of a pile of wrecked cars, looking down at the remnants of the squad with absolute disgust. "Who's next? I still got plenty of ways to make you regret ever being born."

Just as the tension peaked, the slow sound of someone clapping came from inside one of the luxury cars that had just pulled up. An old man in a tailored suit, leaning on a silver dragon-headed cane, stepped out looking totally unfazed.

"Outstanding... truly outstanding. So, you're the one who wiped out Juki's boys and is now making a mess of my elite security?" the old man asked. His tone was perfectly polite, but it dripped with a heavy, threatening aura.

"Mr. Wijaya..." Navi whispered, her voice a mix of pure hatred and fear.

"Oh, so you're the big boss man? Perfect, saves me a trip to whatever garbage dump you call an office," Zolda hopped down from the hood of the car, casually strolling over to him.

"Young man, your strength is very impressive. But do you know that in this city, physical power isn't everything? I snap my fingers once, and I can erase you and that woman from the face of the earth, and nobody would even dare ask questions," Mr. Wijaya smiled a slimy, wicked smile, looking at Zolda like he was just an interesting little ant.

"Snap your fingers? Go ahead, try it. But before you even manage to move a joint, your heart's gonna explode from that chronic poison you've been hiding under that fancy suit of yours. Am I right?"

The smile vanished from Mr. Wijaya's face in an instant. His eyes went wide with shock. "You... how the hell do you know about my heart condition?!"

"I don't just throw hands, old man. I'm the living nightmare for your disease, and the Grim Reaper for your ego," Zolda smirked, taking a step forward until he was just inches away from Mr. Wijaya's face.

"Take him down! Now! Don't let him speak another word!" Mr. Wijaya screamed, his voice suddenly going raspy and panicked.

Two massive, hulking personal bodyguards flanking Mr. Wijaya lunged forward. But Zolda just pivoted instantly, driving his fingers right into Mr. Wijaya's neck. The old man started choking violently and...
