Chapter 3: The Healer’s Wrath

...his face turned violently purple in a split second, eyes bugging out like they were about to pop right out of their sockets! The old man’s body, which had been standing tall with all that arrogant billionaire energy just a second ago, suddenly collapsed, twitching hard on the wet asphalt. Mr. Wijaya clutched his chest, his mouth opening and closing like a goldfish completely out of water.

"Ugh... hack! What... what did you... do to me...?" Wijaya’s voice sputtered out syllable by syllable, hoarse and dripping with unbearable agony.

Zolda just stood there looking totally unbothered, shoving his hands into his ratty jacket pockets with a cocky smirk on his face. "I didn't do shit to you, old man. Just saying 'hi' to that rusty heart valve of yours. How's it feel? Like a thousand rusty needles stabbing you all at once, right?"

"Mr. Wijaya! Hey, you freak! Let the boss go!" The two giant bodyguards yelled at the same time, but their legs were practically turning to jelly. They didn't dare step a single inch closer.

"You two better shut the hell up if you don't wanna die standing," Zolda barked without even turning his head. His eyes were still locked onto the struggling billionaire. "Listen up, Wijaya. You think your fat wallet can bribe the Grim Reaper? Your heart's already rotten, man. Just like your personality."

"Please... heal me... I'll give you... anything..." Wijaya crawled forward, desperately trying to grab Zolda's muddy sneakers.

"Hah! You were talking all that big shit a minute ago. Now you're out here groveling at my feet? Where's all that pride as the king of the city now, huh?!" Zolda brutally kicked Wijaya’s hand away.

Navi, who had been frozen in shock this whole time, finally stepped up. "Zolda, don't kill him yet! He's still holding onto my family's financial assets that he stole illegally!"

"Hear that, old man? The lady says you're a thief," Zolda flashed a massive grin, the golden aura in his eyes glowing even brighter. "So what's it gonna be? You want a little extra time on the clock, or do you want me to just let your heart explode right here on the pavement?"

"I... I'll give it all back... cough! Please... it hurts so bad...!" Wijaya sobbed. His dignity was completely, utterly pulverized in front of his own men.

"Zolda, please... don't do anything crazy. We need him alive to expose the conspiracy at Mega Citra," Navi whispered, grabbing Zolda's arm. Her voice was shaking, but she was dead serious.

"Man, your life is way too complicated, Nav. Guys like this deserve a VIP express ticket straight to hell," Zolda scoffed, but he finally crouched down in front of Wijaya. "Alright, I'm giving you a seven-day extension on your life. Remember that: SEVEN DAYS. If you don't return what belongs to Navi and get down on your knees to apologize to the locals you've been stepping on, your heart is literally gonna detonate. And trust me, there ain't a single surgeon on this planet who can stitch your blown-out heart back together."

Zolda jammed a finger into Wijaya’s solar plexus. CRACK! The sound was loud and clear, immediately followed by Wijaya violently sucking in a massive, greedy lungful of air.

"Gasp... huff... huff...!" Wijaya face-planted, cold sweat pouring off him in buckets.

"Alright, get the hell out of here! Take your boss, he's looking like absolute roadkill!" Zolda yelled at the bodyguards.

Without a second thought, the goons practically scooped Wijaya up, threw him into the car, and peeled out of the alley like they had the devil himself on their tail. The alley went dead silent again, leaving only the sound of the rain and Navi's ragged breathing.

"You are actually insane, Zolda. Do you even know who you just threatened? The guy has connections all the way up to the top military brass!" Navi stared at him, her emotions totally scrambled.

"Military brass, literal gods, whatever. You think I give a damn? To me, they're all just a pile of organs waiting to fail. Anyway, you need to worry about yourself right now. You're looking pale as a ghost again; you still got a little bit of that poison kicking around in your lungs." Zolda grabbed Navi's wrist, checking her pulse.

"I feel... so weak. My head is spinning, Zolda..." Navi almost passed out, but Zolda caught her just in time.

"Tch, rich girls are so high maintenance. Come on, follow me. We gotta find a safe spot before Wijaya's boys come back with a whole damn army." Zolda scooped her up bridal style.

"Where... where are you taking me?" Navi mumbled, her head resting against his chest.

"To my shack, obviously. Where else? A hotel? We'd probably get raided, people thinking we're doing some shady shit," Zolda walked briskly through the dark night, moving as nimbly as a wildcat.

It didn't take long for them to reach a half-collapsed, rundown building on the outskirts of the city. The inside was a total mess, reeking of strong herbal medicines, but for some reason, it felt peaceful. Zolda laid Navi down on a wooden cot covered with a thin mattress.

"This... is your place?" Navi asked, looking around with her eyebrows scrunched up. "It's a total dump, bro."

"Hey, you're lucky I even saved your life, and you're still out here trashing my crib! This is my future laboratory, put some respect on it!" Zolda grabbed a clay bowl and started tossing in some dried leaves he pulled from an old wooden cabinet.

"You're making tea? Please, Zolda, that poison they hit me with was high-grade biotech, you can't cure that with some random weeds you picked off the street!" Navi mocked him, even though her voice was getting noticeably weaker.

"Shut your mouth. Just chill, will you? My Kunao Inner Eye is never wrong. Your poison might be 'high-tech' for regular idiots, but to the Divine Healer's arts, it's basically just a minor cold." Zolda started grinding the leaves with a pestle until they turned into a thick, green paste that smelled super weird.

"That smells disgusting, Zolda! I am not drinking that!" Navi pinched her nose.

"Who said anything about drinking it? I'm rubbing it on your major nerve points. Now, take your top off," Zolda ordered flatly, keeping his eyes on the mixture in his hands.

"Huh?! What?! Are... are you being a creep right now?! Don't you dare take advantage of me, you bastard!" Navi's eyes went wide, and she tried to cover her chest with her weak hands.

"Gross. You think I want to be a creep with a sick chick like you? Look at my eyes—they're gold, right? I can see straight through your clothes if I really wanted to, but I'm too lazy to look at your skinny bones. I need to rub this on your Tan Tien point below your belly button and between your shoulder blades. You wanna get cured or what? If not, fine, go die outside." Zolda stood up, pretending he was about to walk away.

"Hey, hey! Wait! Fine... fine, I'll take it off. But don't try anything funny! If you dare touch me weird, I swear to God you won't live to see tomorrow's sunrise!" Navi finally gave in, her face burning beet-red as she slowly unbuttoned what was left of her torn red dress.

Zolda just rolled his eyes. The second Navi's pale skin was exposed, Zolda's Kunao Inner Eye went to work. He could literally see the sludgy black blood still stuck in her meridian pathways. Without hesitating, Zolda scooped up some of the green paste and started massaging it onto her stomach.

"Sssshhh... it's cold... wait, why is it suddenly getting so hot?!" Navi whimpered, her back arching slightly as Zolda's fingers pressed into the pressure point below her navel.

"Hold still. It's burning off the residual toxins. And stop moaning like that, my neighbors are gonna think we're making a porno in here," Zolda grumbled, keeping up a rhythmic pressure with his fingers.

"It's just... it feels so weird... like there's actual energy flowing through my whole body... damn, are you seriously magic or something?" Navi looked at Zolda, her gaze getting a lot deeper. "Zolda, why did you help me? You could've just let me die and jacked whatever valuables I had on me."

"Your valuables? Your cheap jewelry ain't worth a dime compared to the absolute loyalty you're gonna give me later." Zolda moved behind her, starting to rub the paste onto her back.

"Loyalty? You're awfully confident I'm gonna stick around."

"You don't have a choice, gorgeous. Out there, everybody wants your head on a pike. In here, under my protection, you're safe. And in exchange, I need that big brain of yours to help me build my medical empire. We're gonna make all those billionaires grovel. We're gonna make them realize their lives are worth literal pocket change to us."

"I like your ambition. But you need capital, Zolda. You need a network. You can't just rely on punching people and playing with sewing needles," Navi said. She was starting to feel her strength coming back, her voice getting louder.

"That's exactly why I need you, stupid. You got the hit list of enemies, I got the power to erase them from history. We're a lethal combo. The Medical Emperor and His Strategist. Sounds badass, right?"

"A little edgy, but I'll take it. So what's our first move? Wijaya's definitely plotting his revenge as we speak. He's not gonna just sit on his hands for seven days."

"Let him try. The harder he looks for a doctor to cure my curse, the faster his heart's gonna pop. That's the trap I set. Every chemical drug he pumps into his body is just adding gasoline to the fire I planted inside him," Zolda laughed, a dark, cynical sound that felt seriously creepy in the middle of the night.

"You're a literal demon with an angel's face, Zolda. Wait, actually, definitely not an angel, your face is just painfully average," Navi quipped, pulling her dress back on.

"Screw you! The guy selling meatballs down the street told me I look like a Korean actor!" Zolda shot back, clearly offended.

Suddenly, Navi's phone on the table buzzed aggressively. A notification popped up from an unknown number. Navi opened it, and her face instantly drained of all color.

"Zolda... they... they know we're here!"

"Who? Wijaya's goons again?" Zolda instantly went on high alert, his energy starting to surge.

"No... this is way worse. It's from the 'Medical Shadow Sect'. They're a secret underground syndicate that provides illegal drugs to the elites. They're saying... the Kunao Inner Eye legacy you have belongs to them, and they're coming to rip your eyes out tonight!"

"Rip my eyes out? Hah! Tell 'em to pull up. I actually need a new collection of eyeballs for my experiments anyway," Zolda flashed a wide, psychotic grin, silver needles already slipping between his fingers.

BOOM!

The roof of the shack literally exploded! Dust and wooden debris rained down everywhere. Out of the smoke, three figures dropped in. They were wearing black cloaks and creepy silver masks. Their vibe was totally different from the street thugs earlier. These guys had the aura of actual, trained killers.

"Zolda! Surrender now, or the girl dies first!" one of them barked. His voice was completely flat, like a robot.

"You talk too much, monkey boy! You want my eyes? Come take 'em if you got the balls!" Zolda launched forward, his speed doubling from what it was before.

CLASH!

A shockwave ripped through the room. Zolda blocked the first guy's thin, razor-sharp sword using just two fingers!

"What the?! He blocked the Meridian-Severing Sword with his bare fingers?!" The masked guy was practically shitting bricks.

"I told you, your skills are absolute garbage to me!" Zolda pinched his fingers together, and the metal blade shattered into a dozen pieces like it was made of cheap glass.

Zolda didn't stop there. He did a mid-air spin and kicked the second guy squarely in the chest, sending him flying straight through the wooden wall of the shack. Just as he was about to rush the third guy, Navi screamed hysterically.

"Zolda, watch your six! Poison needles...!"

Zolda snapped his head back with lightning reflexes, but it was just a distraction. The first cloaked guy had already teleported in front of Navi, holding a knife right against her throat.

"Freeze, or I slit this bitch's throat right now!"

Zolda stopped dead in his tracks, his eyes glowing a deep, piercing gold. "You think taking a hostage means you win? Navi, plug your ears right now!"

"Huh?! Why?!" Navi was confused.

"JUST DO IT, IDIOT!" Zolda roared.

The second Navi covered her ears, Zolda took a massive, deep breath and unleashed a terrifying scream laced with nerve-shattering soundwaves. "KUNAO DRAGON ROAR!!!"

Every single piece of glass in the room shattered into dust. The three cloaked assassins instantly dropped to the floor, fresh blood pouring out of their ears. They started convulsing on the ground like chickens with their heads cut off.

"Holy shit... what the hell was that sound? I covered my ears and my head still feels like it's gonna split open..." Navi was trembling. She was looking at Zolda like he was some literal god of war now.

Zolda walked over to the guy who had just held Navi hostage and stomped his boot down hard on the guy's head, pinning him to the floor. "Tell your boss, stop sending me recycled trash like you guys. If he wants my eyes, tell him to come get 'em himself and bring his own coffin. You hear me?!"

"Mercy... please, my lord... we were just..." Before the guy could even finish, Zolda tapped a nerve in his neck, putting his lights out instantly.

"Zolda, we need to move, now. This place is compromised. I got a secret penthouse downtown, registered under a fake name. We can regroup there." Navi stood up, even though her legs were still a bit wobbly.

"Alright, lead the way, Strategist. But remember, I'm starving. Before we hit your fancy apartment, you're buying me goat fried rice from the street cart up front," Zolda said casually, acting like he had just finished a light jog instead of a life-or-death deathmatch.

Navi could only shake her head. "You are such a weirdo, Zolda. You almost just died, and you're thinking about fried rice."

"Full stomach, clear head, dead enemies. That's my motto. Let's roll!"

The two of them walked out of the ruined shack. But right as they were about to step onto the main road, a massive, white stretch limo pulled up and blocked their path. The door opened, and a middle-aged woman radiating a highly elegant, yet totally freezing aura stepped out.

"Navi... so you really are still alive?" the woman asked, her tone impossible to read.

Navi froze like a statue, her face suddenly twisting with pure rage. "Mom? What the hell are you doing here?! Aren't you the one who signed off on throwing me away for the family money?!"

"Watch your mouth, Navi. I'm here to bring you home. And you... you filthy street rat, who do you think you are? How dare you touch my daughter with your dirty hands?" The woman glared at Zolda with absolute, unfiltered disgust.

Zolda just casually picked his ear. "Me? I'm her husband. Why? You here to collect the dowry, Mom?"

"WHAT?! You insolent little shit! Guards, kill him right now and drag Navi into the car!" the woman shrieked hysterically.

A dozen guys in sharp black suits swarmed out of the escort cars trailing the limo. Every single one of them was holding a high-voltage stun baton.

"Nav, is this really your mom? Why's she so agro, she sounds like a landlord asking for late rent," Zolda asked, dropping into a fighting stance.

"She stopped being my mom the day she chose her boy toy over her own flesh and blood! Zolda, beat their asses! I don't care anymore!" Navi screamed, completely losing it.

"Yes, ma'am! Order received, Boss Lady!" Zolda blitzed forward.

This time, he didn't hold back. His movements were straight-up brutal. Every time he laid hands on a guard, the sickening sound of breaking bones synced perfectly with screams of agony. Zolda gave absolutely zero quarter. In a matter of seconds, a dozen elite guards were groaning on the wet asphalt.

Zolda strolled slowly toward the woman, who was now trembling in fear, slowly backing away.

"What did you say earlier? Dirty hands? Come here, let me use these dirty hands to teach you some damn manners!" Zolda raised his hand, fully intending to deliver a lethal slap, when suddenly a bright red sports car drifted aggressively around the corner, slamming on the brakes right between them.

A handsome young guy dripping in designer clothes hopped out of the driver's seat, aiming a gold-plated pistol straight at Zolda. "Let Aunt Sofia go, you piece of shit! Or I'm gonna put a hole in your head right now!"

Zolda narrowed his eyes. Through his Kunao Inner Eye, he saw something incredibly interesting about this kid. "Oh, so this is your mom's boy toy, Nav? He's young, no wonder your mom's into it. But it's a real shame he's got a nasty STD that's already spreading to his lymph nodes..."

"WHAT THE FUCK DID YOU JUST SAY, BITCH?! I'M GONNA BLOW YOUR BRAINS OUT!" The kid pulled the trigger and...
