From Nothing to Powerful Heir

Chapter 5

Everyone there was amazed by Nolan's answer. Jessy felt a sense of relief. She shouldn't be so worried about this.

Marvin looked at her in disbelief. He was getting overpowered with anger. Thinking that Nolan was a stupid man. "Are you kidding me? How could you refuse two million dollars of the money I offered you?" 

The man beside Marvin, Daniel, also looked at him in disbelief. To think that a poor man like Nolan would be greedy for money. Two million dollars was a lot of money. He should have accepted it. "You really are a fool. When else are you going to get a two-million-dollar offer for free?

"In fact, you'll get it right now if you leave Jessy for Marvin," Daniel emphasized to Nolan. 

Nolan stood quietly. He held his ground. Like he would never let Jessy down. She was the woman who had helped him. 

Nolan looked at them in turn. His gaze was very sharp. "I'm not interested at all."

Deliberately, he held Jessy's hand tightly. I gave him a glance and went back to talking to Marvin. "I can even get a lot more money than that," Nolan spoke confidently. 

At this moment, Nolan realized that he had given up 2 million dollars. He knew that was a lot of money, and even he would spend several years working to get it.

His gaze returned to Jessy. He was smiling with excitement. Of course, he would betray the person who had helped him.

 Even without Jessy, his father wouldn't have gotten treatment quickly. He knew enough about that. Nolan wouldn't just let Jessy go, knowing that it was an unpleasant situation. 

Marvin didn't take his eyes off Nolan. "I'm still giving you time to think about all that." Marvin gave an insistence. He still believed that a man like Nolan would be easily tempted by money. 

Nolan shook his head firmly. Although he really needed a lot of money, he wouldn't accept it. "I'm not interested at all. I'll still choose to be with Jessy."

Nolan took his eyes off Jessy again. Once again, she smiled at him. In any case, Nolan would still try to help Jessy. 

Jessy was currently becoming complacent. Hoping Nolan's words would silence Marvin. Marvin was so disgusting. 

"Stop trying to persuade him. We'll get much more money than what you're offering."

"It would be better if you kept the money and forgot about your low offer," Jessy emphasized to Marvin that money can't buy a relationship.  

Jessy pressed her body closer to Nolan's. This shows Marvin that she had a close relationship with Nolan. The woman didn't want to take her hands off Nolan at all. 

"My lover is a very genius man. He can get anything on his own. He's really a very extraordinary man."

Jessy burned Marvin with the compliments she gave Nolan. Jessy could see the tense veins on Marvin's face. He didn't like any of Jessy's compliments on Nolan. 

"That's bullshit!" Marvin spoke in a loud voice. His eyes were red at the moment. "You can't even judge him properly. He's just a poor guy who won't be able to give you any of that."

Marvin underestimated Nolan. Even he was utterly unable to support his own appearance. And, of course, he was sure that Nolan could never live up to Jessy's glamorous lifestyle. 

Jessy is a beautiful and classy woman. Anyone would dream of having Jessy as a wife, and Marvin was no different. He didn't give up hope and was still confident that he would be able to get rid of the poor man from Jessy's side. Afterwards, he would really get Jessy. 

This time, Marvin's gaze stared intently at Jessy's face. "You are a woman. And a woman like you certainly can't judge someone very well. You're just a spoiled woman." This time, with annoyance, Marvin also belittled Jessy. 

Jessy didn't remain silent. She had an annoyed expression on her face. "Oh, do you know who, at the age of 15, created a world-shaking breakthrough?"

Jessy let go of Nolan's hand. She moved to get closer to Marvin. "I've gotten my own 20% share, and it's a big company. Recently, I won a contract with a company in the Pacific. I hope you heard about it, too." Jessy said everything firmly. She knew that revealing the facts about herself would silence Marvin. 

Sure enough, the man was silent and was not able to say anything. It was true. He knew that Jessy had gotten all that. 

Jessy folded her arms across her chest, looking at Marvin with a sharp gaze. "Did you ever get all that?"

Marvin and Daniel were silent. Acknowledging that it was the most incredible thing they had ever accomplished. 

After Jessy didn't get any answer from the two, she smirked. "You should admit that I'm much smarter and more intelligent than you guys." Jessy's voice, full of emphasis 

Jessy immediately turned around and held Nolan's hand tightly. "Let's get out of here. There's no need to ignore them anymore." Jessy immediately pulled Nolan's hand, and they walked away together.

As they exited the hotel, Nolan turned to look at Jessy. His face was filled with discomfort. "I'm sorry, Miss Jessy. Things almost got messed up because I embarrassed you. I could have dressed better."

Jessy shook her head. "You don't need to apologize. You're a cool guy. And you've answered correctly. Ignore everything those two guys said. They're way inferior to you." Jessy tried to encourage Nolan. 

After Jessy dropped Nolan off. And this made Nolan respect her even more. Realizing that Jessy was a very good woman. "Thank you, Miss Jessy. You helped me."

Jessy nodded her head with a smile. "Of course. You are a man worth helping." knowing that Nolan was not a man who would let her down. 

At this moment, Jessy fixed her gaze on the small building behind Nolan. Seeing that it was Nolan's humble abode. Even the building looked shabby, with some parts of the paint peeling off. Meanwhile, the yard could have looked better maintained.

"I have to go." Jessy got back into her car. 

Nolan nodded his head, and after watching Jessy's car go by, he immediately went inside his house. 

Nolan had just sat down, but someone knocked on the door. He frowned. "Is there anything Jessy left behind, Jes?"

Nolan immediately got up and opened the door. But he was shocked to see a man in an elegant black suit standing in front of him. 

Nolan's forehead was filled with frowns. He didn't recognize the man in front of him. But inside, he was filled with worry, wondering if they were the people from the Company who had come and were going to beat him up again. 

Nolan looked very wary. But at this moment, the man in the black suit bowed before Nolan. "I've been looking for you for a long time, master."
