Chapter 9
Charlie couldn't move, his eyes narrowing. “You can't be serious, are you?” He asked, stunned by Donald's seriousness. “I'm serious, young master Charlie!” Donald clarified. “You're inheriting everything. Just your signature is needed and everything will automatically become yours.” “Wait a minute. Are you sure about this?” Charlie couldn't help but remain skeptical. This thing has only happened in movies that he had once watched. He hadn't heard of such a thing happening in real life. And now…..this? It was like a dream. No, it can't be real! “Absolutely!” Donald nodded. “You have nothing to be afraid of, and you aren't daydreaming. Everything is real. You're inheriting everything.” Donald opened the file placed on the table and pulled out a document. “Here, come and sign. Don't be afraid.” He urged with a soft chuckle sensing Charlie's reluctance. Charlie winked, staring at the man. He isn't serious, is he? He muttered to himself, but then reluctantly stepped forward. He grabbed the pen, willing to sign to know if it was really true. Without reading the content, he signed the document and Donald clapped with a congratulatory voice. “Congratulations, young master Charlie! You've automatically become the heir of late Mr. George White's assets, which are worth over thirty trillion dollars, and also the chairman of Pinnacle Group.” “What did you just say? His assets are worth over $30k trillion and I've become the heir?” Charlie asked, stuttering when he heard that. Donald nodded. “Yes, that is what it is worth. Congrats once again, young master.” He bowed his head in respect. “Yes, that reminds me, according to the late Mr. George, the troubles of the wealthy are far more than the poor, but the world doesn't know. So, I'll advise you now that you inherited everything, that you shouldn't reveal your true identity to anyone. Stay low-key. Be down to earth. And if you must take revenge, do it in a way that no one will be suspicious of you.” Charlie nodded in understanding. On his own side, he wasn't ready to reveal who he truly was now. He would take his revenge on everyone who had humiliated him in disguise. Just then a thought struck Charlie. He looked at Donald and asked. “I have become the heir just like that? Is there anything expected of me to do?” Donald shook his head. “Absolutely nothing.” “So, can I now go ahead and start using the wealth?” “Yes! As much as you want, young master Charlie.” After Donald carefully placed the document back in a safe place, he turned around and said, “I'll escort you downstairs.” Charlie declined politely. “You don't need to. When I entered you seemed to be busy with some stuff, I guess you continued with it. I'll find my way out.” With that, Charlie turned around and walked out the door. Downstairs, the senior security guard stood in front, holding and staring down at his walkie-talkie, anticipating Donald's call, but none was coming. He couldn't help but wonder what was going on upstairs. However, his heart didn't panic. On the 30th floor, there was just one office belonging to the General Manager, and there was no other way out, so it was certain the young, pathetic man had nowhere to go. “You've got to go upstairs right away before that young man does something bad to Mr. Donald!” Sarah, dressed in another outfit, shouted at the senior security guard. “Take your men and move! Mr. Donald might be in danger.” The senior security guard blinked, realizing Sarah was on point. That young man might be an assassin and who knows what he must be doing with Donald upstairs. Thinking that way, he turned to the other security guards and ordered, his voice deep and firm. “Follow me.” But then…. Crack! The elevator's door swung open, revealing a figure. Heads turned. Recognition flashed through the earlier receptionist's eyes and she shouted, pointing toward the elevator. “That's him! He's the pathetic loser of a guy! Get him and break his legs!” “Yes! Grab him! Break his bones too! And one person should rush upstairs to check up on Mr. Donald!” Sarah supported. Security guards charged toward Charlie and lifted him, pulling him downstairs. Dozens of security guards surrounded him, and he stood in their midst, clearly embarrassed. “Now is the best opportunity. If I were Miss. Sarah, I'll deal with him first before letting the security guards do their job,” someone from the crowd said “Correct! He humiliated her as if they were in the same class.” Hearing those words, Sarah's chest pulled out, pride creeping in. Before anyone could bat an eye, she walked into the middle and gave Charlie a resounding slap. Smack! The sound echoed across the room, almost deafening. Charlie clutched his cheek and winced, the pain felt. He looked at Sarah with disbelief. “B—but I apologised for what happened. Why did you slap me?” Sarah's expression was cold. “Oh, shut up! Do you think you can come in here and humiliate me the way you did without getting punished, huh? Do you even know who I am? I'm Sarah Lucas, the Manager and third in command of this place and you dare humiliate me? You should even be happy that my neat hand is touching your filthy face!” Before holding back, she slapped Charlie the second time with her backhand. “That's for not apologising properly?” “And for causing a scene here…..” She raised her hand to slap Charlie again, when a voice roared with trembling from behind. “Sarah, what the heck do you think you're doing? Have you gone crazy?” Sarah froze at the recognition of the voice, her hand hanging in the air.Latest Chapter

Chapter 70 Charlie didn't blink. He pointed, his expression calm. “Him first," he replied. “He got himself involved in what wasn't really his business. He called me names and even threatened to deal with me." Hearing that, the man’s heart skipped. Rick's eyes turned dark. His eyes flicked to the man then back to Charlie, the dark lines in them slowly disappearing. “Any other person?" Rick asked. Charlie glanced around the room, looking at everyone one after the other. Some held their chests, shaking their heads with a pitiful expression as if begging Charlie not to implicate them. Hearts pounded. Finally, Charlie turned to Rick and shook his head. "No, just him.” Beating hearts filled with fear dropped low. A relieved breath escaped their noses. Rick nodded. Without saying a word, he turned and started walking toward the man, his expression calm, but each of the steps he took, depicted a perceived danger. His hand was already balled into a tight fist as he

He had thought it was the bar that had informed Rick after this fool came in to make noises.Reality dawned on him—Rick wasn’t invited. No one from the bar called him. Then who did? His heart raced faster as he tried to wrap his head around the whole thing. He rushed forward to beg the man on Charlie’s behalf, but the latter held him and slowly pulled him back, shaking his head slowly.“What do you think you are trying to do?” Charlie asked, his face contorted with a frown. “Beg him? Come on. Let him be. Let’s see what the simp is capable of doing.”His expression was calm, with one hand casually tucked into his pocket as he spoke. Boom! The astonishment in the room grew even louder.Char

Chapter 60Just a minute after Charlie left, Jake walked out of the restroom, exhaling in relief. He adjusted his shirt, eyes scanning the place as he stepped forward. “Where's he?" Jake asked, looking around to see if he could find Charlie. The waitress turned, facing him. “Sir Charlie? He just left a few minutes ago. He received a call—an urgent one—and he had to rush away.”Jake frowned but before he could say anything—“But…” the waitress reached out to the table, grabbing the bag of packaged food that Charlie had instructed her to give to Jake. "Here. He instructed me to give this to you.” Jake didn't hesitate. He took it sharply, but gently, and started glancing inside, taking note of the contents. His eyes widened. "You mean he bought all of this just for me?" He asked, his mouth slightly open. The waitress nodded, confirming. “Yes. And here too." She pulled out the five crisp bills that Charlie had also given her. Subtracting one, she handed the remaining four to Jake.

Chapter 57A few minutes later, Charlie stepped out of the cab that had carried them. Following immediately was Jake from the other door, his eyes sharp as they scanned around the place, slightly nodding in admiration.Charlie dug his hand into his pocket and pulled out a crisp $100 bill, handing it to the driver. “Here you go. The fare." The driver, after taking the money, glanced down, his eyes rotating as if they were searching for something, but suddenly Charlie spoke up, his voice calm and his expression unreadable. “Is it the change?" He asked, but before the driver could nod and reply, he simply added, waving his hand in dismissal. “Don't worry, just keep it to yourself." The driver's mouth fell open and his jaw dropped to the ground. “I should keep the change? $60? That's huge! Thank you so much, Sir. God bless you." However, as he was thanking, Charlie had already started walking toward the restaurant building, hurling the bag of his purchased gadgets with one hand. Jake

Without warning, he slammed his hand on the desk. “I said I want to see the manager and you are asking me to leave?”His nose flared up with anger, fists clenched. “Where the hell is that bastard? I want to see him. Call him here. Now!” He barked out.The receptionist startled, body vibrating at the sudden outburst
