Chapter 04

Upon hearing the news that her grandfather was having violent seizures, Amber rushed over to the doctor and demanded, "What’s going on?! Why is my grandfather having seizures like this?!"

The doctor, Damian Scott, responded with a nervous expression, “I-I don’t know either, Miss Amber. I-I only gave Old Master Julius the correct dosage of his medication, but this happened! I’m sure it’s because of that man you met earlier! He must have done something terrible to Old Master Julius! You should blame him for this, Miss Amber!”

Damian had no idea what was really happening. He had administered what he thought was the appropriate medication to help Old Master Julius improve, but the exact opposite had occurred.

Old Master Julius began convulsing violently, as if the medication had caused a severe side effect. No matter what Damian tried, nothing helped—his condition only worsened.

And of course, if Old Master Julius died, Damian's career, his life, and even his family would be ruined. The Knight family would likely kill him.

So he needed a scapegoat—and the most convenient one was the man Amber had met earlier.

But Amber wasn’t an idiot. She knew this was entirely Damian’s fault.

Without hesitation, she slapped Damian hard across the face, knocking him to the ground with a bright red cheek.

“You're blaming someone else for your incompetence, You Bastard?! I should’ve never trusted you! If anything bad happens to my grandfather, I swear I’ll kill you!” she shouted, her face filled with fury.

Damian panicked at Amber’s threat. He tried to beg for forgiveness by grabbing her legs, but Logan quickly stepped in and stopped him.

Logan glared down at Damian with deadly intent and said coldly, “You think you can touch Miss Amber?! Try that again and I’ll break both your arms!”

Ignoring both of them, Amber quickly pulled out her phone and dialed Caleb’s number. She needed his help—deep down, she felt that only Caleb could save her grandfather.

It didn’t take long for the call to connect. Caleb’s calm voice came through the line, “Is there something I can help you with, Miss Amber?”

“Doctor, my grandfather is having severe seizures! Can you come to Arcadia Hospital and save him?!” Amber said, panic in her voice.

Luckily, the cemetery wasn’t far from Arcadia Hospital—just about two kilometers away.

Caleb immediately responded, “Alright, Miss Amber. I’ll be there in two minutes.”

Amber felt a wave of relief wash over her. “Thank you, Doctor. I’ll be waiting.”

After hanging up, Caleb turned to the grave of Old Man Anderson and said, “I’m sorry I have to leave so soon, Old Man Anderson. There’s something I need to take care of. I’ll visit you again when I get the chance. Goodbye.”

He then took off running toward Arcadia Hospital.

As promised, Caleb arrived at the hospital in just two minutes. Amber was already waiting at the entrance and quickly led him to the VIP room where her grandfather was being treated.

As soon as Damian saw him, he pointed and shouted, “It’s him! He’s the one who caused Old Master Julius’ condition! You should hold him fully responsible, Miss Amber!”

Ignoring Damian, Caleb assessed Old Master Julius’s condition for a moment, then asked, “What kind of medication did you give this old man to cause an epileptic seizure? Did you give him interferon beta and glatiramer acetate?”

Damian’s eyes widened in shock. He couldn’t help but ask, “H-how did you know?!”

That question was enough to confirm everything Caleb needed. He snapped, “I don’t know how you even got your medical license, but you made a stupid, fatal mistake! You could have killed him!”

Turning to Amber, he added, “If you want your grandfather to live, I need twelve sterile acupuncture needles, boiled soursop leaf water, a few specific herbs—ginseng that’s at least a hundred years old, valerian root, and centella asiatica. I need all of it here within ten minutes, or it’ll be too late!”

Damian immediately interrupted, “What do you even need all that for?! You think you can treat Old Master Julius with alternative medicine?! That kind of stuff won’t work!”

Caleb shot back, “You caused him to have an epileptic seizure, and you still think you have the right to speak?! Shut up, watch, and maybe you’ll learn something.”

Damian was furious but had no comeback. Caleb’s words had hit him hard—like a slap to the face.

Even though Caleb’s request sounded strange, Amber had no choice but to trust him. He was her grandfather’s last hope.

She turned to Logan. “Quick! Bring everything the doctor asked for, now!”

Logan gave a firm nod and rushed off.

Seven minutes later, he returned with everything Caleb had asked for.

Without wasting any time, Caleb got to work. First, he pressed an acupuncture point on Old Master Julius’s neck, which immediately calmed him down.

Then, he carefully turned Old MasterJulius over onto his stomach and swiftly inserted all twelve needles into specific points on his back with precise, practiced movements.

Among the points were BL23 (Shenshu), located in the lumbar region about 1.5 cun lateral from the midline at the level of the second lumbar vertebra (L2), and BL25 (Dachangshu), located at the level of L4.

Naturally, the depth of each needle varied depending on the need.

Though it was Caleb’s first time treating someone like this, he performed the procedure flawlessly—thanks to the grueling training he’d undergone with Old Man Anderson.

To be honest, this was a piece of cake compared to his training—where he had to perfectly insert needles into a wall while dodging lightning-fast strikes from Old Man Anderson.

After making sure all the needles were in place, Caleb channeled his internal energy into Old Master Julius’s body using his left hand, while his right hand prepared and mixed the herbs Logan had brought.

Everyone in the room was stunned as they watched Caleb work. None of them had ever seen a treatment like this before. And Caleb performed it so masterfully, it was as if he had treated a thousand patients in the past.

Amber couldn’t help but feel completely mesmerized by how amazing Caleb was.
