From Prison to Greatness

Caleb stood at the door, his eyes glued to the scene in front of him. His wife; Ava, who was supposed to welcome him home after three years in prison, had to accept the fact that Ava was making out with a man on the couch. Caleb felt like he had been hit hard in the chest, his breath stopped for a moment.

"W-what are you doing, Ava?!" Caleb asked in a trembling voice, trying to hold back the anger that was overflowing.

Ava and the man were shocked, immediately stopped what they were doing and turned to Caleb. Ava looked panicked, but the next second, her expression changed to calm. While the man, he didn't care at all about Caleb's arrival.

As if she didn't feel like she had done anything wrong, Ava answered calmly, "Have you been released, Caleb? So, today is the day you're released? I had no idea at all."

"You're right, I've been released. But instead of getting a warm welcome from you, I saw something I shouldn't have seen. You forgot me, forgot our promise!" Caleb said in a high tone. It was clear that he was very disappointed.

Hearing that, Ava showed a disgusted expression. She retorted, "You expect a warm welcome from me?! Are you kidding me, Caleb?! You and I are now on different levels. When you come back, you should obediently walk to the kitchen and wash the dishes! Watch your tone! I am now someone with a high status!"

While Caleb was in prison, he heard news that Ava's business was doing well. She was now one of the most beautiful, wealthy, and famous women in Fluxville City. He also heard rumors that Ava's total wealth had reached two billion dollars.

That was also the reason why Caleb did not question why his wife had never visited him for three years. He concluded that Ava was very busy.

However, he was wrong. The reason Ava never visited him was because Ava felt that she was better. She even only regarded Caleb as an errand boy, and not as her husband!

This made Caleb unable to help but ask with an expression of disbelief, "Did you forget that the reason I went to prison was to protect your honor?! Did you forget that all your success came from me, because I gave you all my savings of two million? How could you do all this after what I did for you?!"

"Oh? So you want a reward for your services?! You should be grateful that I will still let you stay in this house. If I kick you out, who will accept a criminal like you?!" Ava shouted angrily. She really didn't expect Caleb to bring up the two million he gave her. What a shameless man!

Hearing what Ava said, Caleb was very surprised, "You think of me as a criminal, Ava?!"

Wasn't the reason he went to prison to protect Ava's honor?!

Three years ago, a group of young men tried to harass Ava. They even openly asked his wife to sleep in exchange for a lot of money, right in front of his eyes.

Angered by their excessive behavior, Caleb picked up a brick that was not far from him and smashed it hard at one of them.

But unfortunately, the young man was the son of a famous businessman in Fluxville City. They immediately reported him to the police for violence, which resulted in him being jailed for three years.

At that time, Caleb was worried about Ava's situation. They had only been married for a month, and Ava only had a small clothing business.

Therefore, Caleb decided to give all his savings of two million to Ava, so that she could expand her business. He even allowed Ava to sell his restaurant, in order to increase Ava's finances.

Now, when Ava finally achieved success, she considered me a criminal? How cruel!

Ava then retorted, "You just got out of prison, what other name can you call yourself but a criminal?!"

At this point, the man who was previously making out with Ava, interrupted by saying, "It seems like my presence is not welcome here. Please settle your issues first."

He then took a long stride out of the house, but Caleb immediately stopped him by grabbing his shoulder. Caleb said in a cold tone, "Do you think you can just leave after what you did to my wife?!"

The man smiled condescendingly as he retorted, "Oh? You don't seem to know who I am! You better get your hand off my shoulder before I get upset. You'll regret it once you find out what I can do to you!"

Caleb didn't care at all about this man's identity. He said in a challenging tone, "Then show me what you can do!"

He then pushed the man, before finally giving him a hard punch in the face.That sent the man spinning in the air and crashing to the floor with a bloody nose.

Of course, what Caleb had just done made Ava panic. She ran towards the man and asked, "Are you okay, Mr. Thompson?!"

The man was none other than Ethan Thompson; the only son of a high-class conglomerate of Fluxville City; Arnold Thompson.

The Thompson family controls many business lines, including entertainment and healthcare. Therefore, it is no wonder that the Thompson family is one of the most influential families in Fluxville City.

While wiping the blood from his nose, Ethan retorted, "He really made a stupid decision!"

Hearing that, Ava stared at Caleb with anger. She shouted, "Are you crazy, Caleb?! You just got out of prison, and you already want to go back there?! Do you know who you are dealing with?! This is Ethan Thompson, the only son of the Thompson family! He could kill you right now if he wanted to! Apologize immediately if you don't want to go back to prison or die a horrible death!"

Ava defends this bastard more than her own husband?! Who is this woman really?! Why is she different from the Ava that Caleb knows?!

Has wealth changed her nature? Or has wealth revealed her true nature?

Caleb replied coldly, "Apologize? Why should I? I'd rather die than do that!"

"You're out of your mind, Caleb! If you don't apologize to Mr. Thompson right now, I'm divorcing you!" Ava said in an angry tone.
