Caleb looked at him coldly and asked, “And are you going to take responsibility if something bad happens to the old man?!”

The muscular man snapped back, “That should be my question, Dammit! You—”

Amber cut in, “Enough, Logan! I trust him!”

The man, Logan, looked at Amber again, clearly questioning her decision. “Are you sure, Miss Amber? What if—”

Before he could finish, Amber said, “This is already the fifth time my grandfather has been hospitalized, but his condition never really gets better. The doctors are practically giving up, saying he doesn’t have much time left. But this man says he can heal my grandfather, so it’s worth a shot. I’m not going to ignore even the tiniest bit of hope.”

Logan sighed helplessly and turned to Caleb. “If Old Master Julius’ condition gets worse after your treatment, don’t blame me if I end up killing you.”

Caleb responded as he walked toward the old man, “Do whatever you want.”

At that moment, Caleb placed his fingers on Old Master Julius’ right wrist. Realizing how critical his condition was, Caleb transferred a bit of his inner energy to relieve the symptoms.

Of course, it was only temporary. For actual healing, he needed several herbs processed a specific way, followed by acupuncture.

But since he didn’t have the necessary herbs, this was all he could do for now.

Ten seconds later, Old Master Julius’ condition started to improve. His pale skin began regaining color, and he could even manage to say a word or two.

Seeing this sudden change, Amber lit up with joy. Just ten seconds after Caleb touched her grandfather, and he was already improving this much?

There was no doubt—this man had to be a genius doctor!

All the doctors had given up on her grandfather, saying he didn’t have much time left. But Caleb gave her new hope.

She couldn’t help but say, “Thank you, Doctor. You’ve given my grandfather a chance to live.”

Amber then handed him her business card and added, “Please take this, Doctor. If you ever need anything, don’t hesitate to call me. I’ll do whatever it takes to help you. My family has quite a bit of influence in Fluxville. Oh—and could I have your number too? If something happens to my grandfather that the doctors can’t handle, I’ll know who to call.”

Seeing how respectfully Amber was treating Caleb made Logan irritated. He cut in, “You don’t have to treat him like that, Miss Amber. He probably just got lucky.”

Amber shot back, annoyed, “Watch your mouth, Logan! The Doctor just treated my grandfather! Show some respect!”

Even though Logan didn’t agree, he still gave a reluctant nod. He couldn’t argue with Amber.

Since she mentioned her family had influence in Fluxville, Caleb had no reason to refuse.

The guy who had been messing around with Ava was the son of a powerful tycoon, so it was obvious Caleb would need some strong allies to face him.

So, he accepted Amber’s business card and gave her his number.

“If you ever need my help, just call. I’ll come right away,” Caleb said with a warm smile.

Amber was happy to have left a good impression on the genius doctor. She sincerely thanked him once more before heading off to the hospital.

After that, Caleb made his way back toward the cemetery.

At the hospital, Old Master Julius was placed in a VIP room and began receiving care. When one of the doctors checked on him, he was shocked to see how much the old man’s condition had improved.

The doctor couldn’t help but ask Amber, “Didn’t you call earlier and say Old Master Julius’ condition was getting worse? But now that I’ve checked him, he seems to be doing much better. What happened?”

Amber explained her meeting with Caleb.

The doctor—one of the best in Fluxville—frowned, clearly skeptical.

He managed to improve the old man’s condition in just ten seconds? And only by touching his wrist?

He’d never heard of such a treatment method.

So, he said, “I’m pretty sure he just got lucky, Miss Amber. There’s no way he actually cured Old Master Julius. It’s probably just the effect of the medicine I’ve been prescribing him regularly. Anyway, let me examine Old Master Julius more thoroughly and adjust the dosage. Since his condition has improved, I think there’s still hope for a recovery.”

Amber nodded in understanding. But… was it really just luck?

The doctor’s explanation made Logan smirk and say, “Told you. He just got lucky, Miss Amber. No way someone who looks that shabby is a real doctor. It’s obvious he just got lucky.”

Amber didn’t respond—her face showed a mix of emotions. Was it a mistake to give him her card? What if he used it for something bad?

Naturally, Amber started to regret it. She shouldn't have trusted someone so easily.

But then, fifteen minutes later, Old Master Julius suddenly began convulsing violently, throwing the entire hospital into a panic.

As soon as Caleb stepped outside the villa, his phone rang. It was Old Master Julius, asking him to come to the Knight Family residence to discuss their next move.Caleb didn’t bother hiding his intention to destroy the Thompson Family—not from someone like Julius Knight, the business genius of Fluxville. There was nothing worth hiding from a man like that. So, he agreed and made his way to the Knight residence. Now, inside Julius Knight’s private study—hidden in the eastern wing of the estate—the room was warm, filled with the scent of aged wood and ginseng tea. A massive map of Fluxville was spread out across a long black marble table, littered with pins, red strings, and tiny notes.Old Man Julius stood in front of the map, pointing toward the western district of the city. “This is the Thompson Family’s headquarters. Clean on the outside, but their pharmaceutical distribution... has cracks. They’re smuggling experimental drugs from overseas through a chain of illegal clinics.”Cale

Every head turned. The room fell into an instant hush. Ethan and Arnold were both stunned—they hadn’t invited him.Arnold stood up, voice filled with disbelief. “O-old Master Julius… what an honor. We didn’t expect you to be here.”Old Master Julius replied flatly, “I heard there was a party. Sounded interesting. But… I’m not fond of parties that exist just to humiliate others.”All eyes turned to Ethan. Julius slowly walked toward Caleb and stopped behind him.He looked at Ethan with a cold gaze. “Careful, Kid. You have no idea how deep the roots go… of someone you think is beneath you.”Ethan frowned, trying to stay composed. “I don’t understand, Old Master Julius…”Julius gave a faint smile. “Sometimes, a lion sleeps among sheep. Only a fool thinks it’s smart to kick it for fun.”He gave Caleb a pat on the shoulder, then turned and walked out, saying over his shoulder, “This party is boring. Not worth my time. Goodbye.”Logan followed behind Old Master Julius, glaring at Ethan cold

Hearing the conversation between the two men, Ava and Ethan could only sit there in stunned silence. They could barely keep up. The way these two powerful figures played with words was simply too deep.Meanwhile, Arnold leaned in, his voice dropping to a more personal tone. “Old Master Julius… let’s cut the pleasantries. You and I both know the pharmaceutical business isn’t just about healing. Sometimes… preventing too early kills the market.”Old Master Julius wasn’t surprised—he simply raised one eyebrow. “You’re starting to sound like a pharmacist… who prefers the disease to stay.”Arnold chuckled. “We don’t create the illness, Old Master Julius. We just… prolong the symptoms.”Julius’s expression turned serious. “And you think the Knight family is desperate enough to profit off pain?”Arnold stayed calm, placing a data tablet on the table and sliding it over. “Not desperate—smart. We’ve got distribution channels in lawless regions. Unlicensed generics, experimental compounds too ‘

At this point, Caleb pulled out his phone and called Amber. It didn’t take long for the call to connect. With a cheerful voice, Amber asked, “What’s up, Caleb? Do you need something?”“The Thompson family and my wife, Ava, want to meet with the Knight family to discuss a business partnership. I’d like you to accept their offer, Miss Amber. Of course, I want the biggest benefits to go to the Knight family—and make them completely dependent on you. One last thing: don’t let them know this was my idea,” Caleb said right away. After a brief silence on the other end of the line, Amber finally replied, “Alright, if that’s what you want, Caleb. My grandfather and I will handle it just the way you asked.”Hearing that, Caleb smiled with satisfaction and replied, “Thank you, Miss Amber.”Of course, Caleb wasn’t doing this to help Ava and Ethan. He wanted to trap them—make them unknowingly step into his game so that when the time came, he could crush them completely. This was the perfect first

Because Caleb had always seen Joshua like his own brother, of course he paid for all of Joshua’s education until he graduated. He even helped Joshua land a great job at a company. And yet this is how he was repaid?Caleb was so disappointed he felt like crying.Hearing what Caleb said, Joshua pulled his hand away with a disgusted look and snapped, “Screw that, Bastard! Sure, you helped me back then, but now that the Morales Family is on top, all of that means nothing to me! So tell me—how much did you spend on me? I’ll pay every cent back right now!”Ashley immediately cut in. There was no way she was going to let Caleb get all that money back! He didn’t deserve it.“No! Don’t give him a single cent, Joshua! He’s Ava’s husband—that means it was his duty to support us. You should’ve asked for more from him. For the last three years, all he’s given us is a bit of his savings and that old restaurant!”Watching Caleb get humiliated by the Morales Family, Ethan couldn’t hide his satisfied

He really didn’t expect that Caleb was already married. It had always been hard for him to find a man suitable for his granddaughter. But when he finally found one, it turned out that man was already taken. Life truly wasn’t fair.He replied, “Alright, if that’s what you want, Doctor. Don’t hesitate to contact me or Amber if you ever need help. Amber and I will be more than happy to assist you.”Amber then added, her face full of hope, “Even if you don’t want to marry me, you’ll still be my bodyguard, right, Caleb?”Caleb replied, “Of course. I still need this job, Miss Amber.”Hearing that, Amber was overjoyed. Even if she couldn’t win Caleb’s heart today, she knew she had a good shot in the future. If she worked hard enough, it wasn’t impossible to make Caleb fall for her. She just needed patience and persistence. At that moment, Caleb’s phone suddenly rang. It was a call from Ava
