Left with no choice, Ethan accepted defeat, an action that was becoming recurring for him. No matter how many times he tried to pick himself up, life always found a way to throw him down.
Ethan took one last look at the receptionist. He didn't blame her, it was his low position in life that opened him up to her insults.
To avoid any more embarrassment, Ethan took to his leave. He would rather die than face another embarrassing moment from the guards again.
Stepping out of the reception lounge, Ethan took a look back inside. More than the wall of glass now stood in between him and the reception lounge, Ethan eyes became moist. He was about to loose his once in a lifetime chance.
Dipping his hands into his pocket, Ethan brought out his phone. He wasn't about to give up just yet. He would give it a go, one last time.
"Come on!!" Ethan prayed under his breath as he switched on the phone. "Yes!!" Ethan almost screamed as the phone came on. Maybe he wasn't cursed after all. Maybe he had finally found favour before God.
Wasting no time, Ethan placed a call to the Old Man.
"Good afternoon sir. It's Ethan." Ethan greeted as soon as the line connected.
"A wonderful delight to hear your voice again Young Master." The Old Man's voice carried excitement.
"I'm currently at Majestic Skies Building, but I've been denied access." Ethan wasted no time stating his dilemma.
"Sorry about that, Young Master. Not to worry, I'll be there in the next one minute."
"Alright thank you."
Disconnecting the call, Ethan heaved a sigh of relief. A little smile curled up his face. His perseverance had payed off.
Still basking in the positive change of events, a man approached the reception lounge.
As the man drew closer, his face became familiar. Could it be him? What kind of unfair coincidence was this?
"This Bastard." Ethan cursed under his breath as the man was now in full view. Rage and anger overtook Ethan's emotions as he recognized the familiar man to be Alex.
Memories of last night flooded Ethan's mind as he looked at Alex. All he wanted at the moment was to pour out his anger on him.
As though signaling to each other, both their eyes connected.
Alex stopped dead in his tracks as he saw Ethan. "What is this peasant doing here?" He thought in his mind.
Remembering the events of the previous night, Alex burst into laughter. With renewed confidence, Alex continued his walk till he got within few feet away from Ethan.
He was the same height with Ethan, clad in a Tom Ford 2 piece suit.
"What's a low life like you looking for in this fine establishment?" Alex taunted. "Or are you here for a rematch of last night?" Alex mocked Ethan with a wicked grin on his face. It was clear that he was enjoying himself.
"Laurel's doing great by the way." Alex continued. "We had so much fun overnight. She kept moaning my name non-stop. I bet you never gave her true pleasure." Alex mocked Ethan.
Ethan's face was red with rage. The willpower that kept Ethan in check was no stronger than a thin thread. He was about to loose it.
"I promise you, you will pay for this." Ethan vowed. That was the most he could risk doing at such place and time. Too much was at stake for him at the moment.
"Yeah right." Alex chuckled. What could he possibly do to get back at him? He thought in his mind. Nothing but baseless threats, he concluded.
Finally the guards show up. "Thank goodness, kick this retched looking man out of here. You need to stop letting people like this into the building." Alex turned and spoke to the guards.
"Yes sir." The two guards answered in unison.
As the security guards started dragging Ethan away, the door opened, as if like a magnet drawing everyone's attention to turn back.
When the guards saw who it was, they immediately let go of Ethan.
"Good morning Sir!" They greeted and gave a very low bow.
"Lovely to see you sir." Alex greeted with a sweet smile on his face, his tone as pleasant as it could be, his head bowed also.
Ethan looked around him with surprise. He was the only one who didn't bow. "Just how powerful is this man?" Ethan thought in his mind. He was about to get all the answers he seeked.
"You made it!" The Old man exclaimed with a big smile on his face, completely ignoring the guards and Alex's greetings.
The Old Man ran to Alex with as strength as his fraile body could muster, leaving the two bodyguards that were with him. "It's wonderful to see you again." He said, as he saluted Ethan with a bow.

Let’s promise to never let anything or anyone come between us again." Rhys leaned down and kissed her gently. "Not a chance. We’re unbreakable now." The two sat in silence for a moment, basking in the tranquility

Chapter 374
The dim light of Alex’s makeshift room flickered, casting shadows on the cracked walls and the scattered remnants of his old life. He sat on the edge of a wooden crate, methodically strapping his gear into place. His breaths were steady, but his eyes burned with purpose. Tonight was the night. This was what he had been training for—the moment he would finally free Laurel and eliminate Jason. Alex picked up his blade, its polished steel glinting in the faint light. He ran his fingers over the edge, testing its sharpness. A small scar on his knuckle caught his eye—a reminder of all the battles he’d fought leading up to this. He glanced at the photo of Laurel taped to the wall, her smile a beacon of hope amidst his darkened world. “This is it,” he muttered to himself. “For you, Laurel.”With his weapons secured and resolve hardened, Alex stood, pulling his hood over his head. He left the room without a glance back, the door creaking shut behind him.---The screen went black, the t
