Logan looked at the resentment in his wife's eyes then began to explain. “Ava, the truth is… I'm not who you think I am. I belong to a very powerful family, and I'm the heir to the business empire. The headquarters is being controlled by my family's butler named Alfred Alfonso. So you see, I'm a….”
“Shut up, you liar!” Ava angrily grabbed her pillow and threw it at Logan's face. “That's it! I can't stand seeing your face right now.” She pointed at the bedroom door. “I want you to get out! You're sleeping in the living room tonight until you stop trying to feed me all this nonsense, you're not sleeping anywhere near me!”
Logan was speechless. He would have persisted but he could tell that Ava was too tired for this conversation, so he got up and left.
Mia finally woke up the next day and cried when she saw her parents. Logan and Ava couldn't hold in their emotions when they hugged their daughter.
It took two weeks of proper monitoring before the doctors officially discharged Mia.
The family of three had never been happier when they returned home that day and ate together. Ava even allowed Logan to sleep in the bedroom, so they could both snuggle with their daughter.
As the days went by, Ava kept telling Logan to get a job and was always getting furious with him every time he claimed that he had enough money to take care of all of them.
As days turned into weeks, Ava saw that despite the amount of spending that Logan was doing, he had not still run out of money even though he was currently jobless.
This only ended up making Ava even more scared as she still believed that Logan had gotten that money from loan sharks. This had led to multiple arguments. No matter how she begged or insulted Logan to tell her the truth, he kept repeating that he was the heir to a rich and powerful empire. And each time, she would walk out on him, tired of it all.
Mia was now old enough to start out in kindergarten, an excited Ava had her registered into a school close to her place of work, only to find out that Logan later upgraded her to a very expensive kindergarten school.
When she furiously confronted him about it, Logan promised that he would pay for everything so she didn't have to worry about a thing.
Logan decided to take his daughter out shopping. He waited for Ava to go to work before leaving the house with Mia. He ordered an Uber and they drove off to the city's mega-mall.
There, they took the escalator to one of the high-end children's boutiques in the mega-mall.
He wanted to spoil her with the best clothes, shoes, and every cute accessory. Whatever Mia's heart desires was, he would make sure to purchase it for her with no hesitation.
As father and daughter explored the mall in excitement, they ran into Stacy who was with her friends.
“Logan, what the hell are you doing here with Mia?” Stacy glared at Logan before smiling sweetly at her niece. “Hi Mia, how are you?” She asked in a small voice then turned back to Logan, “Don’t you know that kids will want anything they find pretty? Your broke ass wouldn't be able to afford a single thing here so why bother bringing her? Aren’t you being a little cruel to your own daughter?”
“We're just here for a bit of shopping in preparation for kindergarten.” Logan answered coolly. He didn't waste any time as he walked past Stacy without even acknowledging her friends.
“Is that man insane?!” Stacy yelled out in fury as she watched Logan leading Mia into a lavish-looking boutique in the distance.
“What's wrong, Stacy? It's just a father taking his daughter shopping. I think it's actually sweet. Plus, he's really hot.” One of her friends said, the other next to her agreed instantly.
“Shut up!” Stacy turned her anger on her friend. “Dont you know who that man is? That's the poverty-stricken bastard that my sister was unlucky enough to marry and also, he has been a jobless loser for two months now. So tell me, where do you think he got the money from? He must be using my sister's hard-earned money and wasting it away.”
She suddenly waved goodbye to her friends. “You guys go on ahead without me. I need to stop that guy before he spends all my sister's money.”

Can I have it?” With a warm look on his face, Logan lifted his daughter so he could look her in the eyes. “Of course, my princess, you can have anything you want.” Mia gave Logan a toothy smile before turning her gaze until she spotted a beautiful blue dress. “Dada, I want that Cinderella dress,” “Right away.” Logan carried his little girl to the aisle in the store and gently put her down. Mia had just picked up the dress when another little girl suddenly snatched it from her hand. "This is mine." The girl glared at Mia before pushing her to the ground. The middle-aged couple behind her simply stood there, watching their daughter bully another girl. Logan's eyes widened as he quickly rushed forward to help her up, che

Logan was beyond amused that he almost burst out laughing, Adriana was taking the glory for what he did. However, instead of exposing her lies, he decided to watch and see how well she faked it "You're too kind Adriana, unlike some people who tried to lie and deceive us about having a familial relationship with the CEO." Stacy said, giving Logan a hateful glare. "Just ignore that clown." Leslie said, sneering at Logan. "A lowlife like you who tried to claim Astral Corp's CEO is your butler. How pathetic." Ava walked over to Adriana with a warm smile. "You helped my family and I would like to repay that. How about I buy you dinner? Please, don't refuse me." "Okay, I won't refuse you but if you don't mind, I'll be bringing my older brother. He has always wanted to meet you. If that's okay with you…" Adriana requested and glanced at Logan. Ava agreed immediately. Logan watched how his wife made plans to have dinner with this ridiculous woman and her stupid brother the coming day.
Chapter 18: The Fraudulent Favor
Meanwhile, at the Cooper family house. Leslie Cooper was shaking when she was on the phone with someone. "This is such great news. Thank you so much for reconsidering my proposal. I'll make sure to rewrite it before sending it to your company. Thank you." Stacy walked into the living room to see her getting out of a phone call and screaming in joy. "Oh my God, Mom. What was that for?" She asked, covering her ears with her hands. "You won't believe who I was talking to just now." Leslie rushed over to her daughter and held her hand. " Astral Corp’s headquarters just called me and they expressed their interest in accepting my proposal." "Oh my, that's good news. How did it happen?" Leslie thought for a minute and then looked at her daughter with a smile. "It was none other than Adriana Lima. I'm sure she did all this. Guess her father does have connections after all." Then Stacy saw her picking up her bag and car keys. "But where are you going, mom?" "To the hospital, dea

"Thank you very much. I really appreciate it.” Logan whispered, almost tearing up. Then he remembered the conversation he had with Leslie and Stacy at the cafeteria. He didn't want to do it, but for Ava, he instructed Alfred. "I need you to give feedback to Smile Corporation on the proposal that the deputy sales director has been trying to get you onboard with. You can instruct them on how to update their proposal and the amount you want to pour into the business, I'll leave it to your capable hands." "Very well sir but if I may ask, the deputy sales director is your mother-in-law, isn't it?" Logan sighed as he shook his head. "If you already know this, then why ask again, Alfred? I already know you ran a background check on me." Alfred chuckled softly. "You seem to know me very well, sire. If that is all, I'll get to work now." The elevator dinged and he stepped out with the phone still in his ears. "Thank you very much, butler Alfred." He said discreetly, not wanting th

Logan turned back to them and said to Leslie in a low voice, "I think it's quite… Good, but your proposal will need a lot of polishing in it if you really want a company like Astral Corp to invest their money into your business." "I don't need your opinion on my proposal." She said with a displeased look. "What do you even know about business?" She quickly held her tongue before she said any more insulting words. She really needed his help so for now, she needed to behave. Logan sucked in a breath, "That can be arranged." He decided that it was no use hiding the truth from them since it would be revealed in the future anyways. "The CEO is my family's trusted steward, so getting you to meet him is nothing." The smile on Leslie's face morphed into a look of anger. "What the heck are you saying?" Logan was shocked about her sudden change in reaction. Did he say something wrong? Stacy suddenly began to laugh. "I told you not to come to this fool for help, mom. Now, look at him
