“What was that, Logan?” Ava demanded the moment Francis was gone. “Are you insane? Why would you speak to him like that? He was willing to help us. Where are we supposed to get $600,000?!”

Logan opened his mouth to reassure her, to tell her he would find a way, when the nurse approached them again. Her posture was stiff, her voice louder than necessary, getting the attention of the people around. “Mr. Mitchell.” She called almost rudely, “You’ve been instructed to remove your daughter from this hospital by the end of today if payment cannot be made.” Her voice was so loud that surrounding patients and staff whispered amongst themselves about it. Some had mocking looks while others had looks of pity.

Shame plastered all over Logan's face. Why is this happening to me?

Ava broke down on hearing what the nurse said. “This is your fault!” She cried, striking Logan’s chest. “You chased away the only person who could have saved us.” Her tears dried as quickly as they came, her expression turning sharp. “If anything happens to my daughter, I will not forgive you!” Without waiting for a response, she turned and walked toward Mia’s room.

Logan remained where he was, stunned. He had never seen Ava react like that before.

Meanwhile, at a corner, the nurse who embarrassed Logan earlier stood in front of Francis, “How'd I do, Sir? I was pretty loud.” She asked with a smile. Francis passed her an envelope that contained money, “You did well. Make sure to keep me posted.”

The nurse’s eyes shimmered at the sight of the envelope,“Will do, Sir.”

Slowly, Logan sank into a nearby chair. After a long moment, he pulled out his phone and scrolled through his contacts, his chest tightening with every useless name. Just as despair crept in, one number made him pause. He stared at it, then exhaled and dialed.

“Is that really you, Young Master Mitchell?”  An elderly male voice asked in disbelief the moment the line connected. “Are you truly calling?”

“Hello, Butler Alfred.” Logan said quietly. “I need a favor. And I’d appreciate it if my father or anyone from my family doesn’t find out.”

"Young Master Mitchell, what is going on? Is everything alright?" The  man’s voice echoed over the phone as he asked with his voice laced with curiosity. "You left the family years ago, and cut off all contact with everyone, you even  effortlessly avoided being found by our search team.”

 Logan said nothing.

The elderly man continued, “And now you're calling for a favour and also asking not to let The Master know? Have you forgotten where my loyalty lies?”

When Logan sighed, Alfred paused, “I'm guessing you're calling for something really important, judging by the sound of your voice.”

"I understand that I'm putting you in a tight spot.” Logan said in a low and strained voice, “But I would really appreciate it if you kept this from my father and helped me.”

Alfred sighed, "Very well then. Your wish is my command.” He  said after a few minutes of consideration. "So, if I may ask, what is it that you want to ask me for?"

Logan sucked in a breath, then spoke, "I need $600,000…And I need it now. If it was possible for me to get it somewhere else, I wouldn't be bothering you, Alfred. But I'm just… So lost right now. And this is a matter of life and death."

"Apologies,  Young Master.” Alfred whispered, “But permit me to say… $600,000 is nothing compared to what your family owns. You come from a family that owns the most powerful and wealthiest conglomerates. With properties worth trillions of dollars all over the world…  So $600,000 is nothing for you to be this desperate about.”

“I told you it's a matter of life and death.” Logan said heavily.

“I see. Then I shall discreetly prepare the amount right now…But you'll have to do something in return." Alfred stated.

Logan's brows knotted, he didn't like the sound of that, "What is it?"

"Nothing much sir." The old man simply said, "The condition is something I know you can do, so there's no need to panic. All you need to do is come to Astral Corp tomorrow, we'll just sit and talk and then you get your $600,000."

“Tomorrow? Alfred, look-” Before Logan could protest, the old man disconnected the call, leaving Logan grumbling. "What a sly old fox."

Can I have it?” With a warm look on his face, Logan lifted his daughter so he could look her in the eyes. “Of course, my princess, you can have anything you want.” Mia gave Logan a toothy smile before turning her gaze until she spotted a beautiful blue dress. “Dada, I want that Cinderella dress,” “Right away.” Logan carried his little girl to the aisle in the store and gently put her down. Mia had just picked up the dress when another little girl suddenly snatched it from her hand. "This is mine." The girl glared at Mia before pushing her to the ground. The middle-aged couple behind her simply stood there, watching their daughter bully another girl. Logan's eyes widened as he quickly rushed forward to help her up, che

So you see, I'm a….” “Shut up, you liar!” Ava angrily grabbed her pillow and threw it at Logan's face. “That's it! I can't stand seeing your face right now.” She pointed at the bedroom door. “I want you to get out! You're sleeping in the living room tonight until you stop trying to feed me all this nonsense, you're not sleeping anywhere near me!” Logan was speechless. He would have persisted but he could tell that Ava was too tired for this conversation, so he got up and left. Mia finally woke up the next day and cried when she saw her parents. Logan and Ava couldn't hold in their emotions when they hugged their daughter. It took two weeks of proper monitoring before the doctors officially discharged M

However, instead of exposing her lies, he decided to watch and see how well she faked it "You're too kind Adriana, unlike some people who tried to lie and deceive us about having a familial relationship with the CEO." Stacy said, giving Logan a hateful glare. "Just ignore that clown." Leslie said, sneering at Logan. "A lowlife like you who tried to claim Astral Corp's CEO is your butler. How pathetic." Ava walked over to Adriana with a warm smile. "You helped my family and I would like to repay that. How about I buy you dinner? Please, don't refuse me." "Okay, I won't refuse you but if you don't mind, I'll be bringing my older brother. He has always wanted to meet you. If that's okay with you…" Adriana requested and glanced at Logan. Ava agreed immediately. Logan watched how his wife made plans to have dinner with this ridiculous woman and her stupid brother the coming day.

Meanwhile, at the Cooper family house. Leslie Cooper was shaking when she was on the phone with someone. "This is such great news. Thank you so much for reconsidering my proposal. I'll make sure to rewrite it before sending it to your company. Thank you." Stacy walked into the living room to see her getting out of a phone call and screaming in joy. "Oh my God, Mom. What was that for?" She asked, covering her ears with her hands. "You won't believe who I was talking to just now." Leslie rushed over to her daughter and held her hand. " Astral Corp’s headquarters just called me and they expressed their interest in accepting my proposal." "Oh my, that's good news. How did it happen?" Leslie thought for a minute and then looked at her daughter with a smile. "It was none other than Adriana Lima. I'm sure she did all this. Guess her father does have connections after all." Then Stacy saw her picking up her bag and car keys. "But where are you going, mom?" "To the hospital, dea

"Thank you very much. I really appreciate it.” Logan whispered, almost tearing up. Then he remembered the conversation he had with Leslie and Stacy at the cafeteria. He didn't want to do it, but for Ava, he instructed Alfred. "I need you to give feedback to Smile Corporation on the proposal that the deputy sales director has been trying to get you onboard with. You can instruct them on how to update their proposal and the amount you want to pour into the business, I'll leave it to your capable hands." "Very well sir but if I may ask, the deputy sales director is your mother-in-law, isn't it?" Logan sighed as he shook his head. "If you already know this, then why ask again, Alfred? I already know you ran a background check on me." Alfred chuckled softly. "You seem to know me very well, sire. If that is all, I'll get to work now." The elevator dinged and he stepped out with the phone still in his ears. "Thank you very much, butler Alfred." He said discreetly, not wanting th

Logan turned back to them and said to Leslie in a low voice, "I think it's quite… Good, but your proposal will need a lot of polishing in it if you really want a company like Astral Corp to invest their money into your business." "I don't need your opinion on my proposal." She said with a displeased look. "What do you even know about business?" She quickly held her tongue before she said any more insulting words. She really needed his help so for now, she needed to behave. Logan sucked in a breath, "That can be arranged." He decided that it was no use hiding the truth from them since it would be revealed in the future anyways. "The CEO is my family's trusted steward, so getting you to meet him is nothing." The smile on Leslie's face morphed into a look of anger. "What the heck are you saying?" Logan was shocked about her sudden change in reaction. Did he say something wrong? Stacy suddenly began to laugh. "I told you not to come to this fool for help, mom. Now, look at him
