CHAPTER 30: THE UNFOLDING

Back in Spear's Mansion, silence filled the room as Seraphina walked in, her legs sweeping through the rugs that grace a part of the hallway.

"What was the riot about?" Mr. Spears turned to ask.

Eleanor stood for minutes without saying a word. But then Mrs. Seraphina cut in. "Ask your son," she interrupted. Mr. Spears turned to her. "It's quite fine, dear. Let's allow it as it is."

"But now that he has sent Brown out, who will finish up the decorations?" She snapped as she bit her fingers, her face swollen and tightened.

"I have taken care of that, Ma," Romsey replied politely, as he went up the stairs.

"Warn him not to take actions swiftly as it pleases him," Mrs. Seraphina snapped as she walked into the bedroom.

The guards, who were already positioned for the event of the day, shared a puzzled look, their expression filled with confusion, but they didn't say a word until Baron Spears walked up the stairs.

"What could have prompted Brown to disrespect the young master?" a guard asked
