He had driven them out, but Owen knew very well that he wouldn’t be able to get rid of them that easily. Looking around his house, he realized there were still plenty of ways for them to cause trouble.

The house might not have been particularly luxurious, but it was the only thing his parents had left behind, so Owen had decided to protect it.

That afternoon, he put on his hoodie and quickly left the house, getting into the ride-hailing car he had booked.

“We’ve arrived at Grand Sky Mall, sir,” the driver said several minutes later.

Owen looked outside. The car had stopped, and he had arrived at the mall. After making the payment online, Owen immediately got out. He quickened his pace toward a place called Sentinel Security Center (SSC).

A young man at the front desk looked at him.

“How may I help you, sir?”

Owen immediately explained what he wanted.

“I want the best surveillance cameras you have, along with the most advanced security system.”

The young man wrote down Owen’s request before looking back at him.

“Certainly, sir. We have all of that.”

“And I want everything done discreetly. No one can know about it,” Owen added.

The young man nodded.

“I’ve made a note of that. And you can trust Sentinel Security Center to handle everything professionally. Would you like the installation done today?”

“The sooner, the better,” Owen replied calmly.

After everything was settled, including the payment, Owen immediately left the place. He felt relieved knowing that even if they tried to hurt him or do something terrible to him, he would be able to deal with them immediately.

In fact, it would be even better if they actually tried to do something to him.

Owen exhaled slowly. He walked through the mall to buy some books. He didn’t know much about the gods, so he decided to buy several books about them.

He stared at the thick book in his hands.

“I have to read all of this.”

He let out a long sigh.

Owen quickly paid for the books he had just purchased and left the bookstore, intending to head home.

Just as he stepped outside the mall, a woman’s scream suddenly caught his attention.

“Help! I’ve been robbed! Someone took my bag!”

Her scream was loud enough to draw everyone’s attention. But even though many people witnessed what was happening, they simply stood there and watched. The thief was a large man, and if they recklessly tried to intervene, they could end up getting themselves into trouble.

Owen saw that the woman was already crying.

At that exact moment, a notification appeared before him.

[Retrieve the woman’s bag.]

“Seriously? You want me to do this?” Owen asked quietly.

In truth, Owen couldn’t simply stand by and do nothing either, which was why he complained even as his body had already moved on its own.

“Stop!” Owen shouted.

He reached out to grab the thief, but at that exact moment, the thief noticed what Owen was trying to do. He pulled his arm away and then shoved Owen aside.

Owen rolled across the ground but quickly got back to his feet. Even though his body hurt, he could now see the thief’s back as he ran farther away.

“Damn it. How am I supposed to catch him?”

[Activating God of Lightning.]

Owen’s eyes immediately lit up.

“I have this?” He had completely forgotten about it.

[Yes, you do.]

“Okay!” he exclaimed excitedly.

His body then moved with incredible speed. He sprinted so fast that the people around him were left stunned.

“Is he an athlete?”

Owen focused his eyes on the thief, who had already disappeared from sight. But the speed he had gained wasn’t limited to his body—his eyesight had also become incredibly fast. He quickly located the thief.

“You damn thief.”

He immediately grabbed the thief’s arm and yanked him backward with tremendous force, pulling him off balance.

The thief refused to give up and immediately threw a punch at Owen.

[God of War activated.]

Owen’s hand moved swiftly, successfully stopping the punch. His gaze turned cold as he stared at the man.

“How dare you become a thief.”

At that exact moment, his grip on the man’s arm tightened with tremendous force, causing his bones to crack.

“ARRRGH! It hurts! What are you doing!?”

Owen showed no mercy. He landed a single punch directly on the man’s face, sending him crashing to the ground and knocking him unconscious.

Owen’s body seemed to be steaming after activating two divine powers. He looked down at his hands, thinking about all the years he had lived quietly, always listening to what other people told him to do. He had never imagined that he could be this strong.

“Yes, I did it.”

Owen picked up the bag and left the unconscious thief behind. Several people nearby were already calling the police and would take care of the situation.

When he found the woman who had been crying because her bag had been stolen, Owen immediately held out the bag in his hand.

“Miss, here’s your bag.”

The woman was rather rude. She snatched the bag from him without even saying thank you, then immediately checked its contents.

Owen frowned slightly, but he didn’t want to dwell on it. What mattered was that he had just completed the mission given to him by the system.

[Bloodline Synchronization +1%]

Owen once again felt the sensation of power flowing through his body, just as he had before.

[God of War: 5%]

[God of Lightning: 8%]

“Wow, I’ve already increased my power.” He thought to himself, frowning slightly. “If it reaches one hundred percent, does that mean I’ll become a god?”

He seriously pondered the thought.

His thoughts were interrupted by the woman’s voice. He looked at her.

“Good. Nothing is missing.”

Only then did Owen notice that the woman had slightly full cheeks with a beautiful complexion. She was beautiful, with a slender nose and curly brown hair. For a moment, he was captivated by her appearance.

“Sir, thank you for helping me.” The woman extended her hand.

Owen awkwardly took it.

“I’m Helena Lockwood,” she introduced herself.

“What? Lockwood?” Owen responded in shock.
