Owen opened the door of his house and stared at the three people standing before him with an angry expression.

“Why didn’t you come back to the store to pay for all my shopping?” Sarah asked irritably.

She had just been released from the police station after being detained and had immediately rushed here. Her hair was disheveled, and her hands were clenched tightly.

“I—” Owen hadn’t finished speaking, but they didn’t want to give him a chance to talk.

“Because of you, we wasted valuable time! This is so humiliating.” Reinard shoved Owen and grabbed him by the collar. “You need to understand how much we lost because of you!” he shouted.

“You need to pay us back immediately, Owen! You can’t treat your own family like this! Compensate us, and your aunt might reconsider accepting you as my nephew.” Anne hissed.

Everything had gone terribly wrong today. She had been relaxing, expecting as usual to profit from her foolish nephew. Instead, she had suffered a loss because she had to spend a considerable amount of money to get two people released from jail.

“Ten thousand dollars, Owen. Now!” she demanded.

After everything he had been through—the betrayal and death caused by the people he had loved—Owen felt his heart pounding violently, burning with anger.

Reinard’s tight grip on his collar pushed him over the edge. The system had enhanced his physical strength, and with a single movement, Owen grabbed Reinard’s wrist and squeezed it hard.

“Compensate you? Why should I compensate you?” he asked angrily.

For a second, the three of them were completely stunned by the change in Owen. The man had never gotten angry with them before. He had always tried to give them whatever they wanted because all he had ever wanted was to have a family.

Sarah thought she knew Owen very well, and the attitude he was showing now disgusted her. Owen had no right to be angry. She stepped forward and grabbed Owen’s hand, glaring at him.

“Let go of him now. Otherwise, I’ll break up with you,” Sarah threatened coldly.

This wasn’t the first time Sarah had threatened to break up with him. In the past, Owen would always try to persuade her not to leave him. Remembering those days, Owen felt like an idiot.

“We should break up anyway.”

Owen’s calm response left all three of them stunned.

This had never happened before, and Sarah immediately became furious.

“What did you say? You don’t mind breaking up with me?” she scoffed. “If you keep acting like this, I won’t take you back even if you beg me to.”

Sarah only needed to stay calm and act indifferent as usual. After all, she was a beautiful woman, and Owen knew it. That was why she was certain Owen would soon come crawling back and apologize to her.

Owen looked at Reinard’s hand gripping his collar. He then released it and shoved Reinard away.

“That’s not going to happen.”

His gaze was different from usual as he looked at them coldly.

“Now, you’d better leave. Don’t make a scene in someone else’s house.”

The three of them were filled with shock.

Then Sarah stepped forward, her face turning red as she felt increasingly humiliated.

While pointing at Owen, she raised her voice. “I don’t want you back anymore. Besides, no one would want to be with a poor man like you.”

Instead of getting angry, Owen smiled. His reaction was completely different from usual.

“You really are unbelievable! We’re breaking up today! You pathetic poor man!” Sarah screamed, feeling even more humiliated.

“Poor? Didn’t you often go shopping with money from a poor man like me?” Owen replied.

Sarah’s hand was already raised to slap Owen, but it stopped in midair when Owen caught her wrist, making it ache. She glared at him, but her confidence immediately faltered when she met his eyes.

There was something different about Owen.

His cold gaze sent a shiver down her spine.

Reinard and Anne refused to stay silent. As arrogant as ever, they spoke up.

“If you keep acting like this, no one will ever want to be with you,” Anne said in a raised voice.

“Yeah, is he crazy? He’s acting as if he’s really rich and doesn’t need us anymore.” Reinard scoffed. “You can end up alone and die a miserable death, Owen.” His voice was low and threatening, deliberately bringing back memories of Owen’s death.

Owen stared at him coldly. He released Sarah’s hand and then shoved Reinard, sending him crashing to the floor.

“I don’t need any of you. Now get out of here.”

“You ungrateful bastard! I’ve taken care of you all this time! You—”

Anne’s scream was cut short when Owen turned his cold gaze toward her.

Reinard quickly got back to his feet. He couldn’t accept what had just happened to him. All this time, he had treated Owen like his lackey—a pathetic, weak man who was afraid of him.

With his fists clenched, he immediately swung a punch at Owen’s face.

Everyone was stunned by what happened next.

Owen’s fist collided with Reinard’s hand, and Reinard’s hand immediately bent at an unnatural angle, followed by a scream of pain.

“My hand! Mom! My hand!”

“My hand is broken!”

He clutched his injured hand tightly. Panic immediately swept through the others.

“My son! My son! Oh my God, my son! Your hand!” Anne screamed in confusion as she stared at his horribly deformed hand.

Sarah also looked panicked as she glared at Owen. “You bastard! You’re a complete monster! I never want to be your girlfriend again!”

Their constant whining was irritating Owen. He didn’t want to hear another word from them. He simply walked toward them, making all three of them freeze in shock.

“W-What are you going to do?” Sarah asked nervously.

Owen said nothing. Instead, he took action. He grabbed Reinard roughly by the collar and threw him out of the yard.

“What are you doing, Owen!?” Anne screamed as she looked at Owen before rushing over to Reinard.

Owen didn’t care about them. He stared at them coldly, then exhaled slowly before speaking.

“Never come to this house again. We have nothing to do with each other anymore.”
