Training

“She died.”

Silvana stared at the body of a woman who was now being carried by several people for the burial.

"Do you know her?" asked Kieran.

The corpse was a woman Kieran found while approaching the source of the explosion a moment ago. Kieran, who had saved the child, saw her already dead when he returned after getting the child from the hands of the black clothed man.

Kieran told this to Silvana. So, Silvana called the burial company to bury the woman's body. Not only that, she also paid for the funeral.

“Yeah, she helped me when I first moved to this place. I also often give her food. She's one of the neighbors I know quite well,” explained Silvana.

Mio brought the child Kieran saved. She was a girl with short hair and a slightly thin body.

“What should we do with this child? She's only 7 years old, she can't live alone,” Kieran asked. His purpose was obviously to ask if Silvana wanted to do something for this child or not. However, Kieran had no intention to adopt or bringing this child, he wasn't sure if his life would be full of peace, or even filled with danger.

"Kieran, couldn't we adopt him?" Mio asked in a pleading tone.

"No," Kieran said firmly.

"Please!" said Mio while wagging her tail up and sideways excitedly, she was also smiling brightly with round eyes as if tempting Kieran to grant her wish.

“Mio, for this one there is no compromise, we really can't do it,” Kieran shook his head and once again confirmed his decision. Mio could only sigh in resignation.

"Let me take care of her for a while, I think she can help me clean my house and prepare food for me, you know, living alone is very bleak," said Silvana.

She didn't say she would help or adopt the child, instead she said let the child work. Of course that was just an excuse, but actually this answer concealed Silvana's kindness. It also lessened the burden on the child later on.

"By the way, what's your name, little girl?" Kieran crouched down and asked the girl.

The girl hesitantly replied, “Jessica, my name is Jessica.”

"Then Jessica, come with me to the house first, you haven't showered yet, have you? Have you eaten, hm? Keiran, Mio, please continue your guard.” Silvana said this while walking to take Jessica into her house.

So, Mio and Kieran returned to their mission. Fortunately, this time everything went smoothly. Within a few hours, the security around Silvana's house was still maintained well, so Kieran and Mio felt relieved. Silvana once again provided dinner and also some snacks for the two of them. Kieran felt grateful that the mission sender was a good person like Silvana, if the mission sender was stingy, he didn't know if he would stand it.

Just like the night before, except for the explosion incident, Silvana's house in the following hours until the morning was very safe. The mission difficulty was easier than expected. After morning, Kieran left Silvana's house and took Mio, who was asleep again, to the hotel room. That way, the second day's mission ended.

"Could you move your hands?" Enza looked at Kieran with a curious look.

Kieran nodded slowly. In both hands, there were gloves that were useful as ballast. Despite the difficulty, Kieran was still able to move his hands with extra effort.

"That's fine then." Enza raised his hand, then called out to a trainee who was also in room 7.

"Kyle, come here!"

The man called Kyle approached Enza and Kieran. He had an above average height with a physically strong look. Kyle asked, "What's up, instructor?"

“You try to fight Kieran, remember only use your physical abilities.”

Kyle nodded, he then put on a fighting pose while facing Kieran. Kieran was also getting ready.

"Okay, you can start now," said Enza who had retreated a few meters.

Kyle swung his right hand with great momentum. In response, Kieran raised his hand, trying to block Kyle's punch.

As Kyle's fist hit his hand, Kieran felt pain spread throughout his hand. But he didn't have time to lament the pain as Kyle continued to attack.

Legs raised and swinging rapidly, Kieran once again blocked Kyle's kick. But his body could not withstand the impact, so his position shifted a few inches. Kyle tugged at his leg and launched a series of punches. Kieran was unable to do anything apart from defend, the weight on his arms made Kieran's hand movements slower, so Kieran failed to block Kyle's final blow.

Kieran felt his head a little dizzy and the cheek were also very hot. He stepped back a few times. He shook his head and increased his focus. Kyle attacked again, this time he lunged at Kieran with both feet forward. Kieran crossed his arms, but his body was still pushed back.

“I have to counterattack.”

Kieran knew it was very difficult to win this fight, but he needed to put up a fight. When Kyle was about to hit Kieran, Kieran bent down and swung his legs over Kyle's legs. Kyle fell, Kieran took the moment to kick Kyle stomach, when he was floating in the air.

Kyle was pushed back, Kieran then used this opportunity to jump on top of Kyle and aimed his fist at Kyle's face, however, Kyle lifted his leg and kicked Kieran away, with one jump he managed to get up.

Subsequently, Kyle punched Kieran succeeding. Kieran couldn't stop it, Kyle then ended the fight by twisting his body and kicking Kieran with a strong kick.

Kieran was pushed away and hit the wall. He let his hands go weak, Kieran forced his hands to move several times, so he was unable to lift his hands anymore at this point.

Kieran was not disappointed by his defeat, he knew that he was still a rookie. Kyle walked towards Kieran and stretched out his hand, Kieran grabbed Kyle's hand and stood up with Kyle's help.

"Thank you."

Kyle nodded, “You're welcome. You're good enough, considering it's your first time fighting with a weight in your hands."

Enza approached Kieran, he said, "Rest for a while, for the next session you can get back to train your legs."

Kieran nodded, although it was difficult, Kieran was sure that this training was beneficial for him, especially when he couldn't strengthen his skills nor did he have any effective meditation techniques.

Kieran suddenly wondered, did Mio also train well to master her powers? After all, once Mio went berserk, then the consequences were huge.
