The three froze, staring at Russell, eyes opened wide, looking like they would pop out of their sockets.

"Russell! How dare you come back here!" Jacob roared, veins bulging out of his neck, pointing at Russell.

"Get the heck out of my face right now, else, I won't mind throwing you out," He added, glaring at Russell, disgust written all over his face.

"Throw me out?" Russell snickered, his gaze settling on his father, who seemed to be bent on throwing him out of the family.

At first, he thought maybe he would change his mind. He had a little bit of hope, but it seemed like he was wrong.

"Isn't that rich coming from you, Jacob?" Russell stood up, narrowing his brows, walking slowly towards the family.

"Russell, you unfilial child, is that the right way to talk to your father?” Anna snapped, her finger trembling as she pointed at him.

“Father?” Russell let out a low chuckle, the sound devoid of warmth.

“Didn’t he just say he wasn’t my father?”

"Besides, if I remember right, he was the one who broke off all ties with me, so tell me, why should I acknowledge him, huh?" Russell's lips curled into a mockery, staring at Anna.

Jacob’s face darkened instantly, but he didn't say anything and just watched.

Ethan, who had been silent since entering, finally stepped forward. A mocking smile curled on his lips.

“Brother, oh wait… you’re not my brother anymore, right?” He laughed softly.

“Didn’t you get the memo? You were expelled from this house. Or did getting your limbs broken make you forgetful?”

Russell’s cold gaze swept over them, and he smirked,

“Expelled?” he mused, hands in his pockets.

“Interesting choice of words.”

Taking another step forward, his presence pressed on them like an invisible mountain, his gaze turning sharp like a blade.

"Jacob, you watched your useless son break my limbs. Sometimes, I wonder if I really was your son," Russell chuckled, turning to Jacob.

Jacob's expression darkened. Something felt off. The Russell before him was not the timid, submissive boy who lowered his head at every scolding. Something he couldn't latch on to had changed.

“You’re trespassing,” Jacob scoffed, trying to regain control of the situation. There was no way he was going to allow this brat to intimidate him.

"Guards!" He barked, trying to call the guards, but no one came, which made Jacob's expression turn ugly.

Russell didn't say a word and walked straight to the center of the living room, then calmly sat down on the main sofa, the seat Jacob always occupied.

Anna gasped. “How dare you sit there! That’s....""

“My seat,” Russell interrupted smoothly.

The room fell silent. Everyone felt a cold shiver run down their spine.

“You insolent bastard! That seat belongs to me, the head of the family!” Jacob roared, eyes red, wanting to rush towards him and tear him apart.

Russell tilted his head slightly, an evil smile curled onto his face,

"Not in my house." He shook his head.

"You can continue to be the head of your pathetic family, but not under my roof," He continued, his voice calm.

"Ding!"

The System's notification sounded in Russell's mind; the transparent screen popped up before him.

"Ledger updated."

“Target: Jacob Miller.”

“Settlement Progress: 5%.”

"Reward: Medical Sovereign"

Russell's lips curled into a smile seeing this. He would check it out later, but first, he had to deal with these fools.

Ethan scoffed. “You’ve gone crazy. Mom, Dad, he must’ve hit his head when they threw him out.”

"When did this villa become yours?" He added, a wave of satisfaction grew in his heart.

"You'd better go have your head checked, else, I'm afraid we'll have to send you to the mental hospital."

"Really?" Russell muttered, feeling rather amused.

Clearly, he could see the discomfort on his father's face, yet the idiot before him didn't know better.

"You idiot, you should have died along with your pathetic mother back then," Ethan jeered, seemingly finding what he had just said funny as he started cracking up.

"Say that again?" Russell growled, his eyes red. He could endure anything, but he wouldn't tolerate anyone insulting his dead mother.

"I said, you should have died alongside your...."

Before Ethan could finish his statement, Russell moved, appearing directly in front of Ethan.

Slap!

A loud, crisp sound echoed throughout the living room.

Ethan’s body spun midair before crashing heavily onto the marble floor. Shopping bags scattered everywhere.

“Ethan!” Anna screamed, eyes widened in horror as she rushed to help her son.

Jacob stood frozen, his mind unable to process what just happened. When did Russell get so powerful? It was as though he didn't know this son of his.

Russell, on the other hand, slowly withdrew his hand, flexing his fingers slightly as if testing their strength. The slap just now felt great. He had been itching to teach the bastard a lesson.

“Ding!” The System's notification came once again,

“Ledger grudge settled.”

“Target: Ethan Miller.”

“Grudge Item: Physical humiliation.”

“Settlement Progress: 10%.”

“Reward: Combat Instinct.”

A strange sensation flooded Russell’s mind. Information, techniques, reflexes, movement patterns and weapon handlings. It felt as though he had undergone years of combat training in a split second. There was no kind of weapon he wouldn't be able to use.

“You… you hit me?” Ethan stammered, disbelief and fury mixing in his voice, managing to stand with the help of his mother.

"That was a lesson, since your father couldn't teach you some, I thought I'd help him," Russell shrugged, walking back to his seat.

"You monster! How dare you touch my son!” Anna shrieked, hands shaking from rage.

“Your son?” Russell’s gaze turned icy.

"Looks more like a bastard to me," He shrugged, resting back on the sofa.

Jacob finally snapped out of his shock, his gaze resolute; though he didn't know what was wrong with his son, he didn't care.

“Enough! Security!” He called, his voice loud.

Immediately, footsteps sounded from outside as several guards rushed in.

“There he is!” Anna yelled, pointing at Russell,

“Throw him out!”

"Break his limbs, I never want to see him again."

But the guards just stood, not daring to move even an inch, staring at Russell, then at Jacob.

Rejecting fifteen million? If it were not for the guards present, they wanted to rush forward and beat the heck out of him. How dare he reject such an amount?Didn't he know who he was talking to?
