Chapter 002

Mr Andrew sat down on the couch in the room and crossed his legs. Poured himself a glass of red wine, and took a sip before finally speaking. “Lamar, I presumed that the voice I heard a while ago was yours,” Mr. Andrew inquired, staring at Lamar who was still sobbing on the floor.

Lamar didn't answer his question and that annoyed Mr Andrew so he barked at him. “You dare snub me? How dare you? You piece of trash. Get your ass up from my expensive floor if you don't want to die.”

Lamar doesn't want to get into Mr Andrew's trouble. “Sorry, sir.” Lamar apologized.

“I didn't mean to cause noise, Sir, I was only pained to see Victoria and Mr. Jasper in an intimate position, she's still my wife, she's cheating on me,” Lamar said in a cracked voice.

Hearing what Lamar had to say, Victoria took Jasper’s hand and led him to another couch, instead of sitting on her own, she sat on Jasper’s lap. Seeing this, a smile curled up on Mr. Andrew’s lip. He knew Lamar would be so pissed and he liked that.

Lamar doesn't even need a soothsayer to know that Mr. Andrew is aware of their relationship. Realizing this Lamar expressed.

"Sir, are you aware of their relationship? What is my offense? What have I done to this family? What have you derived from humiliating me and making me feel this way?” Lamar smirked.

“Gain! I gained a lot, Lamar, you are not in our social class, and you're such an embarrassment to our family, you should know that, for you to get into a prestigious family like ours it is an honor and you should be grateful, you don't deserve to be in the same breathing space with us. You disgust me so much.

To see you survive the bully pissed me off, so I thought to give up hope and then cruelly take it away from you. Words alone cannot express how happy I am seeing you hurt. It's so refreshing.” brutal words came from Mr Andrew’s mouth.

Victoria let out an evil grin and stated. “Seriously, Lamar, I can't believe you fell for such a terrible joke, how did you think I care about you? a poor good for nothing worthless bastard boy. I guess your parents died out of poverty.”

Victoria’s words were like a double sharp edge sword, piercing Lamar's chest. Flashes of his parents assassination flashed through his head. As he couldn't bear it anymore he yelled.

“Stop it! Just stop! Lamar yelled.

“Victoria you can humiliate me all you want but don't you ever bring up my dead parents, you don't have the right to speak about them!”

At that point, Lamar doesn't care. His parents were too precious and important for someone to talk less of them. He couldn't tolerate it from her or any other person.

BAM! BAM!! BAM!!!

Punches and kicks rained down heavily on Lamar. They assaulted him in the most brutal way. Lamar was beaten until he almost lost consciousness.

“Useless boy! How dare you talk to my daughter in a disrespectful way? you're such an ungrateful fool. And you deserve every bit of what you are getting. Your sorry parents are so unfortunate to have a piece of trash like you as a son.” The scornful voice of Mr. Andrew sounded like a thunderstorm in Lamar’s ears as he stood up.

As Lamar was wincing in pain Mr. Andrew continued, “I have done everything indirectly to make you leave. But you were too dumb to understand. Despite sending you to jail, you still came back here. Lamar, what do you want from my family? Just get your useless self out of my mansion.”

As Lamar heard Mr. Andrew’s confession, he was shocked, he just realized that he was actually framed. No wonder, nobody listened to him when he wanted to explain himself.

Lamar was left in despair, and when he thought he had heard enough, BOOM! Victoria served him divorce papers.

As Lamar was reading the paper, with his hands, they all laughed and scoffed at him while they walked past him without a single feeling of pity for him. To them, he was a useless boy who didn't fit into their status.

*************

As it dawned on Lamar that it was over. He wasted three years of his life all gone. Lamar was back to square one, on the street. He had no shelter, no money, no one to run to. Lamar hoped that his old job, as a waiter, would still be available for him. His only hope. But he had to find a place to lay his head a bit. Life was cruel to him.

As the sun slowly sets, the cold air of the evening blows forth, and after what seems like an eternity of walking endlessly looking for a place to lay his head. Lamar found an abandoned old building with the help of an old man.

Seeing the building, Lamar sneers at the sight, this is what the Taylors’ wants for him. To be miserable. That was why they purposely left him stranded at this time of his life. When he needed help the most. He just came out of prison. Lamar had feared that he wouldn't die of depression and hunger.

As lamar lay down on the cold rough floor, he regretted ever taking up the offer of being the son-in-law of the Taylor family. Life had dealt with Lamar in the most unbearable way.

Lamar sighed in frustration, with each movement, he could feel his body falling apart, the injuries and the pain he was feeling in his body were tearing his body apart, he urgently needed treatment but no one cared. No one wants to mingle with him except for his parents who would’ve been here to love and care for him. if not for the unknown men who murdered them, Lamar thought as he swooped deep into the ocean of memories.
