The most dangerous ghost is the one that buys your entire life while you sleep.

For seven long days, Leo Walker completely vanished from the face of the earth. He stayed hidden inside the sprawling penthouse suite of the Grand Horizon Hotel, a towering five star glass establishment positioned perfectly at the very center of the city's financial district. The massive luxury property was entirely owned by a quiet subsidiary of the Sovereign Group.

Under the steady guidance of Master Vance, Leo spent his waking hours learning to manage the sudden explosion of power inside his body. The old family ring had completely unlocked his internal energy paths, giving him the ability to control physical force and direct shadows. With a basic movement of his fingers, he could smash heavy concrete reinforcement blocks into fine dust without even touching them. His natural physical senses grew so incredibly sharp that he could easily track a single heartbeat from across a crowded, noisy ballroom.

But Leo understood perfectly well that raw physical power was only half the battle. To completely destroy Bradley Sterling, he needed to pull apart the billionaire's commercial empire from the dark.

"Vance," Leo called out, his eyes fixed on the massive glass windows showing the city skyline below. "Give me the full financial breakdown of Sterling Enterprises right now."

Vance walked forward instantly, tapping the glass surface of his secure tablet to project a huge holographic spreadsheet directly into the center of the air. "Sterling Enterprises appears incredibly successful to the public, Young Master. However, our deep intelligence shows that Bradley Sterling heavily leveraged his core corporate capital to fully fund his latest major logistics expansion. Ironically, it is the exact expansion project that you personally designed for him before your alleged passing."

Leo smiled coldly, spotting his own specialized logistics models on the glowing screen. "He owes a massive amount of cash to the local regional banking systems to keep his operational liquidity afloat, doesn't he?"

"Precisely, Young Master," Vance replied, pointing to a column of red financial figures. "He currently holds an active debt of four hundred million dollars spread across three specific commercial banks. If any single one of those banks decides to call in those massive loans immediately, Sterling Enterprises will face instant, unavoidable bankruptcy."

"And tell me, who actually owns those three specific commercial banks?" Leo asked, taking a slow sip from a cup of strong black coffee.

"A private holding company named Apex Capital," Vance said, a knowing look appearing in his old eyes. "And Apex Capital is entirely controlled and funded by us."

Leo placed his coffee cup down on the glass table with a sharp click. "Excellent. Instruct the board at Apex Capital to quietly and aggressively buy out every single remaining minority share of Sterling Enterprises from the open market. Do it entirely through anonymous shell corporations so Bradley does not see the trap closing. I want a full fifty-one percent controlling interest in my hands by tomorrow morning."

"I will handle it immediately, sir," Vance said, bowing his head. "The market will not know what hit them."

"Make it quiet, Vance," Leo added, his voice dropping low. "I want him to feel completely safe until the very second the floor drops out from under him."

Within a matter of hours, the hidden, silent gears of the Sovereign Group went to work. Inside the high frequency trading rooms of Wall Street, billions of dollars moved around without a sound. Millions of floating shares of Sterling Enterprises were bought up in tiny, completely untraceable fractions, easily sliding past the company's internal security warning systems.

Meanwhile, over at the main headquarters of Sterling Enterprises, Bradley was sitting back comfortably in his large leather executive chair, enjoying an expensive glass of aged scotch. Chloe was lounging lazily on the plush sofa nearby, flipping through a thick, glossy catalog of luxury bridal gowns.

"Bradley, darling, look at this gorgeous design," Chloe cooed, tapping her manicured finger against a white dress that cost far more than Leo used to earn in an entire lifetime. "We should definitely book the historic wedding venue in southern France for the upcoming summer. Now that Leo is completely out of the picture for good, we do not have to worry about any messy divorce settlements, bad press, or annoying legal drama. The local police officially closed the missing persons file as a suspected runaway case this morning, exactly like you planned."

Bradley laughed loudly, walking over to press a soft kiss against her forehead. "I told you from the start, Chloe. Money makes absolutely any human problem vanish into thin air. Leo was nothing more than a common bug. I stepped on him hard, and the world kept spinning without a single hiccup."

"I was just so worried the police would ask more questions about his car," Chloe admitted, closing the thick catalog. "But you handled them so perfectly."

"They look at the bank accounts I fund, Chloe," Bradley said with a smirk, swirling his scotch. "They do not ask questions when the answers might stop their monthly payroll. Leo is at the bottom of the ocean, and we are on our way to the top."

"We should plan a massive celebration party for the merger too," Chloe suggested, leaning back into the cushions. "Everyone who is anyone needs to see us together."

"Consider it done," Bradley replied. "Nothing can stop us now."

Suddenly, the heavy mahogany double doors to the executive office burst completely open. Bradley’s chief financial officer rushed into the room, his face totally pale, thick sweat dripping down his worried forehead. He was panting heavily, gasping for air.

"Mr. Sterling! We have a catastrophic, unprecedented emergency on our hands!" the officer shouted out, his hands shaking violently as he held a freshly printed financial document.

Bradley frowned deeply, setting his crystal glass down on his desk with an annoyed grunt. "What on earth are you screaming about? Calm down and act like a professional."

"Our automated corporate compliance system just flagged a massive, aggressive ownership shift!" the officer stammered, his voice climbing an octave. "Over the last six hours, an anonymous institutional entity operating under the legal name Sovereign Holdings has aggressively bought out every single floating share available on the open market! They just crossed the final threshold!"

Bradley’s eyes narrowed into sharp slits, his relaxed demeanor vanishing instantly. "What threshold are you talking about? Speak clearly."

The officer swallowed incredibly hard, his throat dry and his voice cracking under the sheer weight of the news. "Fifty-one percent, sir! An unknown, invisible entity now officially owns the majority controlling stake of your entire company! You are no longer the ultimate authority in this building, Mr. Sterling. They have just called an emergency shareholder gala for tomorrow night to introduce the new owner to the press."

Bradley’s expensive scotch glass slipped directly from his numb fingers, shattering into a hundred sharp pieces on the hardwood floor.

"What did you just say?" Bradley roared, standing up so fast his leather chair rolled back against the wall. "Fifty-one percent? That is impossible! Nobody has that kind of liquid capital to buy those shares in six hours!"

"They did it through dozens of foreign shell companies, sir," the officer cried, holding out the papers. "The compliance team didn't even notice until the final block of shares transferred over. We are completely locked out of the voting block."

Chloe sat up quickly, her face turning white as she looked at Bradley's panicked expression. "Bradley? What does this mean? What happens to the wedding and the merger?"

"Shut up, Chloe!" Bradley snapped, his heart pounding against his ribs. He glared at his chief financial officer. "Find out who runs Sovereign Holdings right now! I don't care how much it costs, buy them out or find a legal loophole to freeze the voting rights before tomorrow night!"

"We can't, sir," the officer whispered, looking down at the floor. "They already control the board. They own you."
