He couldn’t even begin to explain what had just happened to him. His life was changing right in front of his eyes. He was apparently the owner of a very well-to-do company. And his account was clouded with cash. The money he could use to do about anything. And he was the best customer at the bank. Making him a millionaire.

After the meeting, he went to his office, talking to Charity and listening to what she had to say about everything. She explained more to him about what happened and why he was only finding about this now. She told him a bit about the company and gave him some files he can go through that will help him better manage the company.

He had no experience whatsoever about running the company. And that scared the crap out of him that he might fail his grandfather-in-law.

Mr. Noah trusted him that much to give him the company. To leave him something that will end up changing his life for the best. That was changing his life.

“Charity, I do not know what I’m doing here? I don’t even know why he would think I have what it takes for me to run the company. I didn’t even finish my studies,” he complained.

“That is what makes you the best one to run it. You have seen and experienced pain. You are hungry to make this work. So that you don’t ever go back to suffering. That makes you more than capable of running this place. He trusted this in your hand and I trust you will do great. Now, it’s time up. They will be locking the place up soon,” she sipped on her coffee.

“Thank you for being here. For helping me with this. Now we have those British investors to make the new wine. You need to think of a name for it,” he spoke as he packed up the files in the briefcase she gave him earlier. “I have somewhere I need to be as soon as possible. Do you mind driving me there?” He asked her.

“Sir, you have enough cars to take one. Who do you think is the owner of those cars outside? This is your company and half of the cars you saw outside are for the company. Just take one. And judging by your behavior, I bet you don’t even know about the mansion,” she spoke as he locked his office.

He turned to her. Can this day get any better than this? A mansion? The only mansion he knew was the one the Noah family was leaving in. The house he has been working at ever since Mr. Noah died.

“What mansion are you talking about?” He asked her.

“The one the family leaves in. Surely they have informed you about that. Didn’t a lawyer or someone come home? Mr. Noah told me about it. I even have the paper you need to prove it,” she spoke — looking through the bag. “Dammit, I think I left them home,” she spoke.

The mansion was his. And the all family must have known about it. Why didn’t they tell him about it? How could they hide such a thing from him? And did Eliza know as well? She should have mentioned something about it. She had been seeing him suffer each and every day in that mansion. And yet she said nothing about it.

Was saving her necessary? She had allowed her family treating him like trash for so long. And yet she never defended him. Not even once. And now she has even signed the divorce papers and asking him to do the same.

“It’s cool. You can come with them tomorrow. Have a good night and I will see you tomorrow morning. We do have a meeting with the production people if I’m not mistaken,” he opened a door to a black SUV.

“Yes, sir. And have a good night as well,” she entered her car and took off.

He was left alone outside. Looking at the place. Admiring its beaut and still thinking how this all thing was possible. He took out the locket and opened it. He looked at a picture of an old man. With gray hair all over his head.

“You sneak old man. You did it. You helped me even when I’m not related to you in any way. Thank you, sir. I will not forget this,” he spoke and entered the car. And the words Mr. Noah used to tell him echoed in his head. We never give up on family.

He looked around the car. Smelling the scent of the car. His first car. From a bike to a car.

But how can he just let it go? How will be over look everything they did to him. Everything they have been doing to him. Just two nights ago, they told him to work the all night after the party. She didn’t even mention him as part of the family during her birthday party. How was he going to overlook that and just move on?

He drove as fast as he could. Trying to call Eliza, but the woman was not picking up her phone. He tried again, but still nothing.

“Come on, woman. Just a little longer,” he said as he increased the car speed.

After a few minutes, he reached the company. And he saw the car that brought Eliza to work. And other cars that belonged to the Noah family.

He parked the car and went running inside the office. Then, as he was about to enter the meeting room, someone called him behind.

He turned, and saw it was Jackson. “What are you doing here? Do you need money for you new bike?” He smirked at the man.

“I don’t have time for this right now. But I will get back to you for killing Vea,” he told him assuredly, and walked inside the room.

Eliza was standing before everyone. All the Noah family was present. Even grandmother and his mother-in-law. They all just glared at him.

“I told you I will find a way,” he sighed as he caught his breath. Smiling at his wife.

She clenched on the floor as she held his head. A blood smile stretched across his face. But she cried even more. How and why was this happening to her and her family? She nearly lost him back then and now she might lose him for good.“It will be fine. Just hang in there,” she said, pressing her hands on the gun wound. Moses stood eyes wide open a few feet away. He looked scared, worried. Mubanga didn’t look any better. She didn’t want any of this. Yes, she wanted to get that freedom she thought she needed. But she didn’t want anyone to die. Not like this. Abigail was the only one looking better. She didn’t seem to be too surprised or as worried as the two. She actually looked relieved. “Eliza…” “Don’t even say anything Moses,” she snapped, looking at him. “You know he would have helped you with whatever you needed if you just talked to him right? Was this really necessary? You could have come and talked to me. Now you have killed our brother and look at my husband. I will make s

Moses was pacing around the living room. His wife sat on the couch with her hands on the sides of her temple—her gun in hand. She looked scared, worried. Could it be that she was guilty about shooting Mateo? But she was heartless, at least that was what Trevor and Eliza thought. Trevor was soothing Eliza as she cried, looking at the body of her brother on the floor. What would she tell her mother and grandmother? What would they even think about her and Trevor now? They already don’t like him, and now this. “Eliza, we will be fine. I won’t let anything happen to you and the baby. I have to die for that to happen…”“Don’t say that,” she looked up at him. “I can’t lose you, too. I won’t lose you as well, Trevor. There is no way I will raise this child alone.”He forced a smile, “I won’t die. We will be fine.”There was silence as he thought about what he was doing. What if his plan fails? What then? He couldn’t risk Moses finding out about what he was doing. Messing up again was nev

They both went running to the living room. And then hit a stop after seeing Mateo on the floor. “Trevor!” Eliza screamed and rushed to hug Trevor. “Mateo! What will I tell our mother? What will I tell his wife and kids?” She cried on his shoulder. He just soothed her as he looked at the blood on the floor. Mateo was gone. Just like that. This was more serious than he imagined. Whatever he thought this was just changed after this. And the next body could be Eliza’s or his if he didn’t play his cards nicely. He needed to think of a better plan to get out of this one. “What happened? I thought you said no killings. Why would you kill Mateo? He is your brother, for God’s sake. Why would you ask your psychopath wife to shoot him?” He snapped, walking to stand a few feet from Moses. “Moses, listen. We talked about this. I was going to do whatever you wanted me to do. And then you were going to leave me and my family the hell alone. But so much for that.”There was silence, Moses looked

His heart was pounding. How did he allow this to happen? Why was this happening? And who the hell was the woman with Alexander? Alexander gestured for them to take their seats. Because he had a gun, it wasn’t like there was a lot they could have done. They just followed suit and took their seats. Eliza held on to Trevor’s harm. This was not happening to her again. As much as she was trying to be strong and not thinking about what happened, it still did, and the thought of it happening again didn’t sound okay with her. She looked at Trevor, and he just smiled, silently telling her it was going to be okay. “Listen man, whatever you need I can…”He scoffed, “you can’t give me crap Trevor. And if I listen to you saying you will do the same thing you did. I didn’t want to do this. I asked you nicely to give me what rightfully belonged to me. But what did you guys do? You played me and my wife like a fool.”“Wife?” They all gasped. “Yes, wife. You thought I wasn’t married. I told you e

The next morning, he woke up and found Eliza wasn’t in bed. And suddenly his heart skipped. He jumped and rushed out of the bedroom, shouting her name. When he couldn’t find her inside, he rushed outside the house. Shouting and hoping she was still alive. How could he allow her to be kidnapped again? How could she have been kidnapped again? And by how? Could have Alexander managed to enter the house and take her? He went around the house, and there was no sign of her. After a while of searching, he went inside the house, got his phone and called her. Luckily, she picked up.“Trevor. Morning,” she answered from the other side. “Where are you? Are you okay?” He demanded, his breath shallow. “I’m at a supermarket. I wanted to get a few things. We were running out of supplies. What is the matter?”“You left without telling me. I got worried. After what happened, I don’t think you should be walking outside alone. You should have woken me up, Eliza. What if Alexander was waiting for y

  • CHAPTER 79

The room was eerily quiet, his friends didn’t look as anxious as he did though. They knew what was happening and what his board members were going to say. Could they have been thinking of throwing him off the company? He was the one with the most shares, but what if they voted him out? What then? “So here is the thing,” the woman began. “We are old as you can see,” they all laughed except him. “And we can’t keep doing this anymore. We have done our part, and it’s now time for new people to take it up. Right Eliza?” She looked at his wife who just tightened her grip on Trevor’s arm, but nodded. “We, as the board, you excluded, have decided to leave the company.”His heart sank. “What do you mean by leaving the company? You know I can’t run it without you guys. The only reason it has been able to stand for all these years is because you guys have been there. You can’t do this to me.” He demanded, and before he knew it, he was pacing. “You need to revisit that plan of yours. I can’t and
