The gift arrived on his desk at exactly seven O' Clock in the evening inside an ornate box covered in blood. Elder Ezno delivered it. He wasn't looking like himself— a bandage curled around his neck, hanging his arm uselessly while his back hunched, stiff by injury that broke something supportive inside that would take a while to heal.

Even at his level of cultivation, he couldn't heal broken bones easily and maybe his pride too which had been shockingly battered by a young man he'd underestimated.

Daniel Monroe loomed over the desk in a dim Ambiance that was his underground base — the Bloody eyes operation base. He stood at six feet six, a beast wearing human skin. Everything about him was intimidating and oppressive from weather-beaten face to the scars marking his face like insignias, a stark reminder of the wars he'd walked through and came out a conqueror.

His eyes steady on the tab in his hand displaying Jaxon walking into the Grand Hall after sweeping securities off their feet like they were toys and turning the ceremonial Hall into a funeral ground with swift moves.....and then the moment the dagger drove into his daughter's chest.

His expression remained unchanged but the air around him grew thicker. He was boiling inside, inferno raging. No grief. No mourning.

"He came alone and destroyed everything" Elder Enzo's voice cut through the thick silence, firm but lacked the usual confidence. "I underestimated him. He's not ordinary, Daniel. He said he hadn't come for me or anyone—"

He paused, the silence heavier.

Daniel didn't move. He didn't react but the air around him was bubbling. Very hot.

"Someone is hunting you, Daniel."

Daniel didn't look away from the screen which had paused on Jaxon's face zooming on his face.

For three minutes in the silence, he observed his features till something clicked. His expression cracked, genuine shock flickered in his eyes.

"He's alive?" The words came out rough, eyes narrowing in surprise. Then he smirked faintly in cold amusement despite everything, despite his loss, despite the anger and grief of just losing his daughter. "He looked just like his father."

"Do you know him?"

"I do."

Daniel dropped the tab with a gentle clatter. "He should be dead. But he's alive," he said with the same natural husky tone.

"He is powerful." Elder Ezno chipped in thoughtfully. "Unreadable."

Daniel kept quiet, his mind spinning. He exhaled sharply, slightly trembling. He was emotionally detached from his loss, like it was just another statistic. He was never available to spend time with his daughter though which was why he was barely moved by the bad news and it was probably because he'd seen News more terrifyingly than it.

But somebody dared to challenge him for once.

The moment he looked into the box to see the bloody dagger that killed his daughter, his anger build up. His grip tightened around the table edge. Elder Ezno heard bone cracking in the silence.

"We prepare for burial an—"

"We prepare for war." Daniel Monroe cut through his words. His voice hardened. "I need every bit of information about him. How he is still alive. He has no family anymore but he must have friends. I need every information that I will use to make him suffer before I send him back to hell screaming for mercy that won't come."
