Chapter 4: Long Lost Brother

It's been a month since Suzy passed away. Everyone still can't forget about her, but still, they can move on with their life.

One day, after Sam comes back from his work at the castle, Sam sees that his wife, Iris is upset and looks like she is thinking about something.

"Hey darling, are you okay?", asked Sam.

"Oh, honey! I'm okay", said Iris.

"Are you sure? Looks like you're upset."

"No, I'm okay, honey."

"I know you're lying. Just tell me what disturbing your mind."

"Sigh. I'm thinking about someone. Someone very important to me and my mother."

"Who is it? Your late father?"

"No, well yes I missed him. It's about...my brother."

"What? I thought you were the only child in the family."

"No. I have an older brother. His name is Ian. He was a soldier who fought during the Zagary-Gruven war. He was also the famous earth master in my village before I became a famous earth master. My mom never tells you about this?"

"Nope, she didn't tell me."

"Well, I will tell you. He was born a year earlier than me. If I am already 22 years old, that means my brother is already 23 years old. He still cares and loves me although I'm blind just like my parents that did care for me too. Sadly, he disappeared after the war had ended. His friends also didn't know where he was brought to. I heard that they said Ian and the others disappeared out of nowhere because they were sucked into a portal that was made by Gruven."

"So no one knows where he was brought to?"

"No. We wait for days, weeks, months, and then it becomes years but still, he never comes back to us."

And then, Iris cried.

"The...the last thing he said to us is..."

10 YEARS AGO (ZAGARY-GRUVEN WAR II)

The Gruven soldiers were trying to destroy their village. At Iris's house...

"Brother, please don't go!", said Iris to Ian.

"I had to. They need me. Besides, I need to protect our village too and destroy them for good", said Ian.

"No, please! We can run away together."

"No! We can't be a coward, sis! Do you remember what our late father said, Iris? We can't surrender. We must fight to protect our village from any enemies. Listen, Iris, I had to protect our village. It's also for our good. If we run away, where can we go? This is the only home we got."

Ian then talked to his mother.

"Mom, if anything I did wrong before this, I want to say sorry."

"I already forgave you for so long, my son."

"Mom, promise me you will take care of my sister."

"I promise, my son. And you also must promise that you will come back to us."

"I promise, Mom."

Then, he hugged his mother and sister before he went away.

"Iris, take care of Mom okay? I promise I will be back and I will always remember you both. I love you both."

"I love you too Ian. Come back to us again when this is all over, okay?"

"I will."

Then, he went to war.

After a few weeks, Ian never returned. Until one day, one of the soldiers came to Iris's house and said that Ian disappeared into the portal that Gruven built. They didn't know where they brought him. Iris and her mom were sad to hear that news.

PRESENT DAY

"Until now, he never comes back. My mom said he was already dead. But for me, I know he's out there. I'm trying to find him...but it's all hopeless."

"Maybe I can help you to find him."

"Really? Are you sure you want to find him? Do you know where he is?"

"We never know until we try. We try to find him. I promise I will find and bring him back here."

"Oh, thank you, honey! I appreciate what you're doing."

"You're welcome, darling. I do this because I want to see you and your mom happy to see your brother again."

The next day, Sam held a meeting with the team to discuss Iris's brother who's been missing for a decade now, which is Ian.

"Really? Does Iris have a brother? Why we didn't know about this? You hid this secret from all of us?", asked Athena.

"No! I just knew it yesterday because now only Iris tells me the story of her brother. I promised her that I would find Ian", said Sam.

"Yeah, that's right", said Athena.

"Stop it you two! Please don't fight! We are here to discuss finding Ian, not for fighting", said Benjamin.

"Alright, I'm sorry brother", said Athena.

"It's okay sis. Now back to the topic, we need to launch a mission to find Ian. Find across this kingdom for him and also search for his name on social media in our kingdom because now is the technology era. Who knows we can find him by using social media", said Sam.

"Alright, let's do it", said all of them.

They then later launched the SAR (Save & Rescue) Mission to find Ian across Zagary. After a few days of locating him, they didn't find any clues about Ian.

"Sam, they said they didn't find Ian here at Zagary," said Leah.

"Did they check at Gruven?", asked Sam.

"Yes, they did. But no trace on him, even the jail already closed after we took over Gruven."

"Hmm, there is only one way to find him. I'll ask his soldier friend, Dave. I searched in the military database and I see that he befriended Ian. Maybe he can help us."

"Well, let's go then. I'll call Athena to join us."

"Okay. I'll wait in the car."

Sam, Leah, and Athena then later searched for Dave's house. Finally, after a few minutes, they found Dave's house.

"Hello, are you Mr. Dave?", asked Sam.

"Yes, I'm Dave. You must be Sam, Leah, and Athena, right? Come in!", said Dave.

"I want to ask about your friend, Ian. Do you know him?", asked Leah.

"Ian? Oh, yeah I remember. He was my friend at the military base when the old-time war. Why are you asking me this?", asked Dave.

"My brother's wife, Iris lost his brother which is Ian. Ian was lost during the war 10 years ago. Is it true?" asked Athena.

"10 years ago? Oh yes! Now I remembered what happened. He disappeared with other soldiers into a portal during the war happens", said Dave.

"Do you remember the environment inside the portal?", asked Leah.

"If I'm not mistaken, it looks like a forest", said Dave.

"That's it! I know where are Ian and the others being brought! Thanks for the information, Dave!" said Sam.

"You're welcome. And Sam, please find him. Although it's already past 10 years, I still know that he is still alive and he's out there", said Dave.

"I will find him, I promise", said Sam to Dave.

Then, Sam, Leah, and Athena return to the castle.

"I know already where Ian is being brought!", said Sam.

"Where?", asked Athena.

"To the Earth!", said Sam.

"What?! Are you serious?", asked Leah in shock.

"Yes, that's the only place that we've ever been and Gruven had been there since 10 years ago. They never explore other planets yet that time except for Earth. So the clue that Dave gives is the surrounding is like a forest and there is no planet other than Earth that has forests", said Sam to his sisters.

"Yeah, you're right Sam! Let's go find him there!", said Leah.

"No! I want you to stay here with Athena and the others. And please take care of Iris too. I will go to the Earth to find him", said Sam.

"Sam! I found his name on the Earth's social media. His username is Ian Wong and he lived at...New York? Looks like he has an adopted family and also I got his house address too", said Athena.

"Looks like I will go to New York to find him. You both stayed here until I come home, okay?", said Sam.

"No! We want to follow you. We are scared that anything could happen to you and also we want to help find your wife's brother", said Leah.

"Please, brother? Please?", said Athena.

"Alright then. Let's pack up our things tonight and then tomorrow we go to the Earth, okay?", said Sam.

"Okay, yay finally I can follow you to Earth!", said Athena happily.

They all laughed at each other and then they packed up their things.

The next day, Sam, Leah, and Athena met with Queen Maria to permit them to go to Earth to find Ian. Queen Maria accepted them to go to Earth to accomplish their mission. They then went into the portal and arrived at the residential area in New York.

"We never go to this country yet, right Sam?", asked Athena.

"Nope. This is our first time here. Following the information, he lived somewhere here", said Sam.

"Hey, I think that's his house!", said Leah and she showed the house based on the info that they got on Ian. The house is a yellow-painted bungalow.

They then later went to the house and rang the bell. A few seconds later, a man and a woman showed up.

"Hello. I'm Sam and these are my sisters, Leah and Athena. We're Ian's friends. Is Ian's home?", asked Sam.

"Hello. I'm Mr. Ben and this is my wife, Mrs. Nelly. Ian's not home right now. He has additional classes at university", said Mr. Ben.

"Oh, I see. Can we come in first? Because we want to meet him to discuss something", said Leah.

"Sure, you three can come in", said Mrs. Nelly.

They then later enter Mr. Ben's house.

"I'll go make some drinks first. You three can see around our house", said Mrs. Nelly.

"Thanks, Mrs. Nelly", said Athena.

"Oh please, just call me Aunt Nelly and Uncle Ben", said Aunt Nelly.

"Oh, okay then Aunty", said Leah.

The three then later went to the first floor to see Ian's room. They enter the room to find evidence that he is from Zagary.

"Hey look, this is a Zagary ID Card but it's 10 years ago. It's not the latest ID card, but still, it's our kingdom's ID Card", said Athena.

Suddenly, Sam saw a picture. The first picture is a picture of Ian's family which is Ian, Iris, and their mother while the second picture is Ian's new adoptive family.

"Look! Here are Ian's family pictures. The left side is his Zagary family while the right side is his Earth family", said Sam.

"So this is Iris's brother", said Leah.

"Let's talk with Ian's family first", said Athena.

"I think we need to wait for Ian to come back home first, and then we will discuss this together", said Sam.

"All right then. We will wait for Ian to come home", said Leah.

A few minutes later, Ian came back from university.

"Ian, your friends come here to meet with you", said Aunt Nelly.

"Friends? Who?", asked Ian.

Then, Sam, Leah, and Athena met with Ian.

"Ian, I'm Sam and these are my sisters, Leah and Athena. We're from Zagary", said Sam.

"Za...Zagary? Is this a dream?", asked Ian.

"No, it's not. It's real, we came here to bring you back to Zagary", said Leah.

"Zagary? Ian, what's that? What is this?", asked Uncle Ben.

"Mommy, Daddy. I did tell you before right? Before you meet me, I'm from Zagary. I'm a soldier there and I lived there. This kingdom is out of our dimension", said Ian.

"So you want to go back there?", asked Aunt Nelly.

"Yes, Mommy. It's been 10 years since I didn't come back home. God has already granted my wish. You also once said that one day someone from my world will come to bring me home, and here they are! Please Mommy, Daddy? I just want to meet my own family again", said Ian with crying intonation.

"Alright then, my son. We let you go to meet back your own family. But you must promise us that you will come back here to visit us after you already met with your family and always contact us", said Uncle Ben.

"I will, I promise", said Ian, and then he hugged his parents.

"We hope that you will be reunited with your family again", said Aunt Nelly.

"Thanks, Mommy, Daddy. I'll come back here to visit you later", said Ian.

"So, you want to go now?", asked Sam.

"Yes, but let me pack my things first", said Ian.

After he packed his things, he hugged again his adoptive parents and they all then went off to Zagary.

"Our son is gone now", said Nelly.

"Well, let him meet with his biological family. It's been 10 years since he didn't meet his own family. We must let him go. He also promised us that he would contact us and come back here to visit us", said Ben.

"All right then. Let's go inside the house", said Nelly.

Later, Sam, Leah, Athena, and Ian arrived in Zagary.

"*exhales* Home Sweet Home!", said Ian.

"You waited for so long for someone to rescue you?", asked Leah.

"Yes, I waited for so long. But luckily you three found me and brought me home. I'm so happy! I can't wait to see my family again", said Ian.

"Let's go! Your family is waiting at your house", said Sam.

After that, they went to the house by car.

In the car...

"Sam, may I ask you something?", asked Ian.

"Sure, what is it?", said Sam.

"Did you know my family?", asked Ian.

"Well, of course! I knew them when I learned Earth elemental power with your sister, Iris", said Sam.

"What? My sister teaches you Elemental power?", said Ian.

"Yes! She's very professional, just like you!", said Athena.

"Wow, she's good with the power now! I can't believe it! It's been a long time since I left them", said Ian.

"Don't worry, Ian! You will meet your family again and they always tell me to find you and now I found you", said Sam.

"Thanks so much, Sam, for finding me. It's been 10 years and I can't wait to see my family again", said Ian.

"You're welcome, Ian", said Sam.

A few minutes later, they arrived at Ian's family house.

"Ian, wait here! I'm going to meet your family first. I will call you to come in later", said Sam.

"Okay then", said Ian.

Sam then later meets Iris, his wife.

"Hi, darling! I'm home!", said Sam.

"Honey, you're back! I thought you were going on a mission on Earth for a few days", said Iris.

"It's an easy task. Just only take a day", said Sam, and they both laughed.

"Oh! Darling, I want to introduce someone to you."

"Who?", asked Iris.

"Leah, bring him in!", said Sam to Leah.

Ian then later entered the house and went to Iris.

"I...Iris?", said Ian.

Iris was then shocked and she knew that voice. She walked slowly with Sam helping her to go towards Ian.

"Br...Brother? Is that...is that really you?", asked Iris.

Ian then holds his sister's hand.

"Yes...yes, it's me, Iris. I'm Ian, your brother!", said Ian.

Iris then hugged him and they both cried.

"Ian, where you've been? You were missing for 10 years, did you know that? We all here missed you so much. We all tried to find you but you disappeared out of nowhere", said Iris.

"I...I being brought to Earth, sis. Luckily, with my social media strategy, Sam and his sisters found me", said Ian.

"I'm so happy you're back", said Iris.

Later, Aunt Melly came out and hugged Ian.

"I missed you so much, my son!", said Aunt Melly.

"I missed you too, Mom!", said Ian.

Ian then later sees Iris's ring.

"A ring? Are you already married?", asked Ian.

Iris then nodded her head.

"Wow, congratulations! But with who?", asked Ian again.

Iris then later leans her head to Sam who's already standing beside her all the time. Ian was shocked to see that Iris married Sam.

"With...with Sam? How did you...", said Ian.

"It's a long story. To short it, I liked her when I first met her and she also liked me but we were too scared to confess our feelings. Iris thought that I liked someone normal and not like her, but I told her that I liked her so much, and then she told me that she likes me too", explained Sam.

"And then I accepted his proposal and we both married. About finding you, I told him to find you and now you're here. I'm so happy that you're still alive", said Iris.

"Did you know at Earth I have an adoptive family? But, I always missed you both. I always do not stop thinking about you. Even I don't know how to come back here. After I did the social media account, I hope that someone from Zagary can come here. Then, Sam and his sisters came to bring me back home. Looks like God granted my wish. I was so happy and now our family is reunited again", said Ian.

Ian then later hugged Iris and his mom. After that, Iris talked to Sam.

"Thanks so much, honey! You bring back my brother home! I was so grateful that he was still alive. Thank you so much for everything you and the Heroes team have done to find my brother", said Iris.

"You're welcome, darling! I do all this because of you and I want to see you happy!", said Sam.

"Sam, thanks again for finding me! And now, my family is reunited again", said Ian.

"No problem, Ian. I just want to see Iris and her mom happy", said Sam.

"Let's go to the kitchen. We have some lunch first", said Aunty Melly.

They all then have lunch at Ian's house. And now Ian is reunited with Iris and his mother, Aunt Melly. They now live happily ever after.

After they had lunch, Sam and his sisters met with Ian and Iris.

"Hey, Ian! Can you tell me...I mean all of us how did Uncle Ben and Aunt Nelly meet you on Earth?", asked Sam.

"When I am brought to the Earth I'm trying to find the way out from the forest and I met a road. The other soldiers are already dead, I'm the only survivor. When I met the road, a car almost hit me and then I fainted because I was shocked. Then, they brought me to the hospital. When I had already woken up, I told them that I was not from Earth and I explained everything to them. At first, they didn't understand my background but after that, they understood and they always gave me support and prayed that I could meet someone from my hometown to rescue me. They then took me as their adoptive son because they never had a child before. And then, my adoptive parents taught me to do Earth's social media account so that maybe someone from Zagary who knows about Earth can rescue me and after 10 years, you and your sisters brought me home. I was so happy that I could meet with my sister and my mom again and looks like God granted my wish. I have now reunited with my family again but I also missed my adopted family on Earth and I promised them I would visit them when I already meet my family here", explained Ian to them all.

"I see. We're so sorry that we don't know you're stuck on Earth for 10 years, Ian", said Leah.

"It's okay. At least now I have reunited with my family again, that makes me happy", said Ian.

"Thanks so much, honey, Leah, and Athena for finding my brother. I'm very happy that I can see my brother again", said Iris.

"You're welcome, darling! We did all of this because I want to see you and your mom happy again to see your brother", said Sam.

Later, Ian called his adoptive family on Earth.

"Hi, Mommy and Daddy! How are you?", asked Ian.

"We're fine here, Ian! How about you? Did you already meet with your biological family?", asked Aunt Nelly.

"I'm fine too and I already met them. They are also in good condition. I'm very happy that I can meet them again", said Ian.

"I know. You have been waiting for 10 years to come home, right? I hope you're happy to meet them. You still keep your promise to visit us later right?", said Uncle Ben.

"I will, Mommy, Daddy. I also will bring my family to meet you both, is it okay?", said Ian.

"You also can bring them here. It's okay, we also want to know them", said Aunt Nelly.

"Alright, Mommy, Daddy. I will bring them next weekend. See you!", said Ian.

"See you, Ian!", said Aunt Nelly and Uncle Ben.

"Mom, sis, can I bring you to meet my adoptive family on Earth next weekend? You both can know each other with them", said Ian.

"Sure, no problem. I also want to know them too", said Aunt Melly.

The next weekend, Ian brought Iris and his mother to meet his adoptive family on Earth. They all now knew each other and Ian was very happy to meet his own family again. He and his family now live happily ever after.
