By nightfall, a majority of the attendees had left, ensuring to show their gratitude to their hosts as they went.

Trisha and Aiden stood by the door, shaking hands or blowing air kisses as people left. The Chairman was by the side, speaking to some of the board of directors present.

Trisha watched Aiden with concern in her eyes, mouthing her words. she asked if he was fine, to which he nodded in the affirmative. He still looked clean, untouched, his outfit without creases. Their aunt, Getrude, waltzed towards the door, her girls in tow.

"It was a pleasant evening! Although I must say my brother didn't train that boy right. Should have put him to the whip to beat out that nonsense entitlement from him instead, what does he do? Encourage the brat."

Her girls looked uncomfortable behind her as she droned on. Aiden tuned out her voice, only nodding when it seemed like she needed him to.
