Everything turned out to being sweet to sour in just a few minutes. Pablo was embarrassed on how the mafias walked out on him, and mostly ashamed that he couldn't punish Michael who has been smirking like he won some lottery, hell! He won already.

If he knew that it would turn out this way and backfire he would have applied more pressure and the worst of it is that he can't call the police because that is like adding fuel to fire. There is nothing concrete to feed the police.

He ran his eyes at the unconscious body of his guards, a bunch of weaklings indeed! They didn't even put in any effort to take Michael down. Jeez, after this, he will definitely sack them all and hire robust ones.

Well, Michael had one plan, to destroy the wedding into crumbs and as it is now, it's flaking or rather ruined already. His lips pulled up in the side, his eyes caught her ex, who was gloomy.

While staring at her, one of the few things that lingered in her brown eyes is impenitent. She doesn't regret what happened and would never feel guilty about it.

Tears ran down her light make-up face as she gazed back at him, and here comes the nagging, thought Micheal.

Kathie threw her used tissue at him, “What did I ever do to you that you had to destroy today for me? Michael I know that we had something in the past but are you blind not to see that I found someone better than you” she yelled, “Today was supposed to be an exceptional day in my life, but your existence ruined it, you messed up my wedding day. The fact that you had to appear today and not other days makes me detest you so much, I hate you, Michael!”

‘Wedding day’ without him stings.

It was supposed to be him too, standing there exchanging rings with her, it was meant to be him saying the vows with her. So those particular words resonated in his head and ached him.

It's easily understandable that Kathie is blinded by money, yes because the girl from three years ago wouldn't gibber this crock of shit to him back then. He provided everything that she wanted, so what the heck money can buy that he didn't provide for her.

Trust, there was no trust, it's clear-cut now. They lacked trust in their relationship, and it was from her side because Micheal trusted her every second of his life, thought Micheal.

The moment when everyone has stepped on you, and you are left with nothing, but then suddenly turns evil.

“Apologize” it sounded like a command, “Both of you will apologize for fucking my life, especially you, Skank”

Pablo scoffed and had to glance between himself and his fiancée to be certain that Michael was referring to him, the squeezed face of Kathie proved it.

Kathie stepped forward with hands on her hips, looking courageous, she blasted,

“Oh well, over my dead body, Michael.”

“Really? You must be praying for your grave at such a young age, but I might spare you for that, you know why?”

He quirked his lips and leaned in to her, breath away from her hair, “Because I want to sit and watch how much more your precious life can get ruined, the depth of the hole you dug for yourself and when you will reach the bottom of it” he smirked looking into her eyes, “You entered the pit of hell Kath, I thought you knew better. I'm gonna watch you fall deeper, love.”

Kathie gritted her teeth and pushed him on the chest but Michael hard as a rock didn't move, but Kathie stumbled a little bit backward.

She glared at him, Pablo reached and patted her shoulder, comforting her.

Goodness! He should have paid the police to add decades to his stay in prison, Pablo glared.

Just then, Mr. Smith arrived and flipped his suit jacket, strutting in like the Croesus of the city he is. His matching blue navy suit and nicely styled white hair with white beard, which made him look younger than his age.

Pablo had a smug smile on his face when he saw his father.

Beside him is a senior officer from the army almost the same age as him, and then behind are two of his guardsmen with black shades on.

They had a wire connected to their ear and neck which allows them to pass messages to each other and other guards.

He was late to his son's wedding because he had to pick up the senior officer from the airport. He is an important person, and he wanted to keep him close and build a strong relationship with him.

Since the news of him having a healthy chance in becoming the general in the next five years, he tends to thrive and keep the best people close, which includes the senior officer.

But taking in the look of the place, how disorganized the place is, it's messed up, and he wondered if the wedding has come to an end but then the air says otherwise.

He was annoyed, with him is the biggest man in the arm force, bringing him all the way to the city to build a strong relationship between them only for them to walk into a messed place at their first encounter.

Such an opportunity for him to settle in and get him happy, but he is presented with a tattered environment.

He glared at his son, “What is this?” and that was the moment he noticed the man there, that seemed like they had a bash.

“Pablo, what happened?” he asked his son.

When he walked in, Pablo's heart jumped in excitement because how did he forget that his father will definitely attend his wedding? With a smug smile, he tapped on Michael's shoulder as though he were congratulating him.

He smirked, “It's game over, Mic”

He doesn't need to explain further because he is certain that Michael knows his father, Mr. Smith, lord of the city.

Not only that, but he will destroy him for good this time.

Ayla’s POV “Get her out, now.” Shuffling feet approaching got my eyes opened again. I had barely slept, maybe just dozed off a bit. A man towered over me, looking straight in the eye before leaning down to pull me up. “What are you doing?” I struggled against his sinew arms on mine “Let go.” He suddenly let go and I fell to the bed with a thud. “Get up and get out.” “What is this? Who are you anyway?” I glared at the ma from before that instructed me to eat and then leave. Was he the one who saved me from Pablo? Why then was he acting so strange? “Get her out then.” He turned to leave as he ordered the same man again. “Wait.” I got down hastily from the bed, my feet almost tangled in the sheets before reaching him. “Do on touch, talk from a distance.” His voice was ice cold and I wondered why he saved me when he was just going to be so rude and throw me out again. “Who are you?” “What sort of a ridiculous question is that? After latching so tightly to me, I expect you would

  • Chapter 92

Ayla’s POV Where was I? I could barely remember anything, my memory took a pause at the time I was saved by an unknown man from Pablo and my head ached from trying to recall what had happened after that. I tried to get up but my limbs were weak, it was like I had been sedated and I could barely control my body to move. I opened my eyes to a luxurious view of dropping chandelier of rather expensive cut. Where was I? I tried turning my head to look around and I noticed that it was definitely not my room and definitely not Michael’s, so I was not anywhere near home. Was I kidnapped? That was very unlikely because I felt way too comfortable in the feather like bed to have actually been kidnapped. “It is about time you woke up. After ruining my evening and scattering my plans you do not deserve any more sleep than you have already gotten.” A thick voice welcomed me followed by a handsome man with muscular build. He did not look familiar in any way but his facial features made my head ac

  • chapter 91

Pablo’s POV There was still no call from Gunner, nothing to indicate that he had survived but I was sure he had. He has faced worse and he conquered them all. An abrupt shooting spree was nothing he could not handle. I just needed to focus and keep my head in the game. Smith pushed the steel doors open and walked in sluggishly, panting heavily before flat of an armless sofa. He was too weak to be of any use to me, he was just a waste of space but I needed bait, a worm to catch the stubborn fish from the water and he seemed like the only willful option if he would agree. “Smith, come over.” I ordered and watched him sluggishly drag himself off the chair and shuttle towards me. “We need to get them to come after me again. You are gonna be the bait and you ain’t gonna complain or say a word out of the context, here or there.” “A bait? That will not be possible. I cannot be a part of your bullshit plan to sabotage innocent lives.” He yelled back at me, suddenly revitalized “They are

  • Chapter 90

Ayla's POV He seriously only thought about himself and he even had the guts to admit it so blatantly. I hate him so much, so fucking much. What does he take me for anyway? Keeping me in the dark is going to keep me safe, total bullshit. Pablo will still come for me, I have heard of his numerous killing escapades and he is definitely not going to let me be if he realizes I am still alive. There's only one way to it; though two actually I choose the one that helps me show Michael just how ruthless I can be. He thinks I am just a little girl that he can toss around well he will just have to see, the hard way, that I can survive in the wild. "Ayla, there you are. Michael came looking for you...What happened?" My mother ranted off, immediately I walked in I stomped off from her presence and shut the door to my room. "I am going to show you Michael, that I can do just what you are doing." I vented out my anger, tossing some needed clothes and accessories into my bag. I arranged a boot

  • Chapter 89

Pablo’s POV“Take him down, gunner!” I yelled. It was a raid, a bloody raid that I had not seen coming and it was not Torrance this time, the Vikings never worked like this. They were always to afraid to take a bold move, not to talk of a move as daring as this one.I could not wait for his response neither could I see him finish off the intruder, he would report himself to me. I shielded myself out, the intruder had used a Sub machine Gun and while his attacks were not directed at a particular target, he just shot as much as he could, all round.I passed through the back door, using the stair way that led to an empty underground garage. I got into my car and drove back home. On my way out, I saw the bodies of my soldiers lying outside the warehouse. The intruder had killed them all silently and it had happened during the call. They plan to take Kathie, get their friend and keep me on the losing end. This was not the work of the Vikings, they definitely had a greater help else, they w

  • Chapter 88

Ayla’s POV He was a lunatic. How could he even think of cutting off my limbs to send to my parents? I did not even want them getting involved in this because of my disobedience. “You cannot try it. Smith will not allow it.” I yelled at him, trying to conceal my emotions. He burst out in a maniac laugh, lolling his head back and forth continuously. “You are really feisty. I like that. But I’d like to see Smith try. Gunner, hit her up.” He stared at me and took a sip of his drink, then a long drag to take it down. The heavily built man that had kidnapped me earlier walked towards me, swinging a mallet as he closed the gap between us. I shook in fear, and almost peed on myself when a phone rang in a distance. It sounded so distinct as I could only hear Gunner’s footsteps approaching me. Suddenly, he paused and walked over to Pablo; “Torrance.” He simply said to Pablo, who collected the phone and answered the call. It was a video call.Pablo’s POV“Perfect timing, I was just about
