Boom! Ivy's words struck Eric to the core. His eyes widened in disbelief.

“No,” he stuttered, shaking his head slowly. A bitter chuckle escaped his lips as wide eyes scanned hers. “You can't be serious, Ivy. I know you must be joking.”

“Oh, come out from your daydream, you pathetic loser!” Cole snapped, a sarcastic laugh breaking out of his lips. “What makes you think Ivy wouldn't leave a poor thing like you to me? Huh?”

Cole shook his head, faking pity. “Do you think you're that relevant to her? Oh, come on. Ivy doesn't like you to talk about loving you. She's so fed up with you, bro.”

Eric daggered his gaze at him, but he chose not to respond. He thought he was saying all of that just to provoke him.

Just when he was going to ask Ivy thousands of questions, Cole dropped a bullshit.

“If Ivy’d loved you, she wouldn't have allowed me to do a thing with her this morning.”

Eric's eyes turned red. “You fool!” He yelled, rushing forward, and grabbed Cole's collar. His heart was pounding with anger. “Watch your mouth! You're just Ivy's former coursemate. You have no right to talk ill about her that way!”

Cole laughed, something mischievous in it. “You really believed all those lies? What a clueless fool.”

Eric raised an eyebrow, and his tight grip on Cole's collar seemed to lessen. He felt the seriousness in his words. It sounded like Cole wasn't kidding.

However, before Anthony could react, Cole bashed him on the chest, “Get your filthy hands off my expensive shirt!” causing him to stagger backward.

He lost his balance and fell to the ground. Both are tired from their work. Trauma from this. Just everything added to his weakness.

“Haha. He doesn't even have stamina,” Cole ridiculed. He adjusted his shirt and turned to Ivy, whose expression was cold. “Why don't you tell him things by yourself? Go on. Tell him,” he insisted, his smirk widening.

Eric's fists clenched at his sides as he sat up. Almost immediately, he stomped up, his expression dark. “Fuck you, bitch! Stop trying to force her to say what never happened!”

He rose up to strike Cole, his fist aimed at his nose, however, Ivy blocked his path, stepping between him and Cole. She stood defensively in front of Eric, her face blazing with rage.

Eric's fist paused midway, puzzlement taking over him. It was as if chilled water had been poured on him. “Huh, Ivy?” He stammered. “Why are you blocking me? He's saying nonsense about you!”

His eyes scanned around. “In front of everyone and you're stopping me?”

“What nonsense did Cole just say?” Ivy shot, her frustration palpable. “Do you think your poor stinky organs can detect what's true or false, huh?”

Eric looked at her in disbelief, his hand slowly retracting. “Y—you mean you actually—” He was stammering when Ivy took words from his mouth.

“Yes!” Ivy admitted, nodding her head firmly at his face. “Cole and I did something together. Got a problem with that?”

Gasp!

A shock wave ran through the lobby. The onlookers’ hands flew to their mouths in astonishment at her assentient.

“She isn't ashamed to admit it!”

“There's a reason for that!” They murmured.

Meanwhile, Eric's rage exploded, his breath caught at the moment, unable to believe his ears. His heart tightened.

“And I can tell you for free that she was really good in bed,” Cole chirped in, fuelling Eric's fury.

Eric couldn't take it anymore, he rushed forward to punch Cole's collar again, but this time, Cole dodged it, and hit him so hard that he fell to the ground.

Eric touched his nose, and he could feel blood coming out of his nose. Cole was a muscular person, and Eric could not deal with him on his own.

“You bastard, do you think you can stand my super punch, huh?” Cole laughed at Eric. “You’ve got no fucking parents and you think you've got the strength to fight me?”

“Oh, no. You're such a wastebasket. Your fucking parents would have taught you manners but no, they gave birth to you and dumped you as trash.”

As he spoke, Eric's anger reached the brim. “Enough!” He shouted, his blood boiling.

Although he doesn't know who his parents are, he wouldn't let this rich spoiled brat speak ill of his parents.

He stomped up, his eyes burning with rage as he stood in front of Cole. “Face me and don't dare involve my parents in this. Don't call them names or….”

“Or else what?” Cole interrupted, his voice challenging. “What the fuck can you do? And your parents? They aren't up to my level. Not even from your grandparents to you! In fact, your generation can't amount to what I am right now.”

Eric's fist clenched, his rage palpable. He raised his fist to strike but right there, Ivy warned, her voice dangerously cold. “Don’t you dare try anything foolish, trash!”

Eric's hand halted mid-way, his eyes widened in disbelief as he turned to look at Ivy, who stepped in between them.

“You're a dirty thing and you think of raising your filthy hand on Cole? Have you forgotten who he is?”

“Y—you are supporting him?” Eric stammered.

Ivy laughed, amused. But she didn't answer right away.

“Just because he's rich you cheated on me to be with him? A spoiled brat like him? Huh, Ivy?” Eric asked, tears forming in his eyes.

The betrayal cut deep.

“Oh, spare me these tears!” Ivy saw it and mocked. “Are you even worthy of being called a human? Have you ever in your damn pathetic life given me $1k? Can you even afford it?”

Ivy continued, her expression meaning. “Let me just be frank with you; I have been managing you. Not like you've done anything meaningful for me.”

“Really?” Eric interjected, raising an eyebrow in surprise. “Haven’t done anything for me? Is that what you can say? Have you forgotten how I helped you renew the house rent?”

“House rent is worth over $5,000, and all you've been given is just $200. Who do you think has been making it up?”

“It's me!” Cole stepped forward and proudly said

Eric's face twisted with rage. “You? How dare you deceive me all these years?”

“Haha. What can you do?” Cole raised his voice and before Eric could respond, he struck him, sending him to fall against a vase of flowers.

Bang! It shattered.

The pieces also scratched Eric's hand, giving him a deep cut in his skin.

Blood started to gush out immediately.

The onlookers covered their mouths in astonishment.

The sight was traumatizing.

“Ah! He's badly wounded!”

“Someone help him!” The concerned ones said.

Just then, a hoarse but cold voice came out. “The broken vase is worth over $600 and your salary was supposed to be $400, but now I'm only going to show you mercy by giving you a $50 note. Also, your job here has ended.”

This is your home and I'm your grandfather—Christopher.”Boom! Eric was shocked. His eyes widened in disbelief. “Y—you’re my grandfather?” A faint smile escaped his lips and he shook his head. “Tell me you're joking, right?”Christopher shook his head, his expression calm and his smile never faltering. “That's the truth, my boy. Weren't you surprised how I got to know your name? That's because I'm a grandfather.”Eric's mind skipped, and fear gripped him almost immediately as something seemed to strike his head. The name sounded familiar and so was his face when he had a closer look. His late parents had made mention of this name to him but it was something not good.Eric forced himself up, moving back to the chair. “Y—you? You're alive?” Christophe

“Eric?” Eric repeated his own name, shocked. He immediately looked up at the old man. Confusion and surprise were written all over his face. “How do you know my name? And who are you?” He asked, still on his knees. Christopher smiled, understanding his curiosity but he said, “Please, stand up first and have a seat. Only when that is done shall we discuss.”Eric was reluctant but at the old man's persistence, he stood up, staring around briefly before looking at the man. He was short of words. “Please, sit down,” Christopher gestured toward the couch.“Sit down?” Eric asked, shaking his head as he glanced at the plush cushion. “No, I'll stand up, I can't afford to buy a new one if I dirty anyone.”Christopher chuckled lightly. “It doesn't matter. If it gets dirty, I'll trash it and get a new one.” His voice was casual as if getting a new cushion as plush as that was the simplest and easiest thing to do. “Please, have a seat and make yourself comfortable, I'll be back.” Without wa

At that same time, the sun rose from the east and shone through the thick, luxurious curtains that hung in an epicurean living room that exuded wealth. The living room was vast, having polished cushions neatly and nicely arranged. Artworks were used to beautify the place. There was a large flat-screen TV that was hung on the wall, and a calm yet alluring movie was on display on the screen. Everything in the room screams wealth and sophistication. On one of the plush cushions lay an unconscious, young, handsome guy around the age of twenty-three, and an elderly man, around the age of eighty, stood tall there, arms crossed, glancing down at the guy.He couldn't say a word. The room was like a graveyard except for the soft ticking of the old wall clock. The old man just stared down, concern and worry evident on his facial expression. “Doc, hope he will be fine?” The old man asked a man who was putting on a white garment. The silence finally broke. It was the family doctor. The do

I don't know who you are.” He shifted backward, trying to avoid the man's touch. The man smiled faintly, understanding. “You have nothing to fear,” he said, his voice reassuring. “I'm Henry Lucas, your grandfather's right-hand man. He's sent us here to bring you home.” Eric protested, his voice weevil. “I don’t have any parents. How then will I have a grandfather?” He asked, looking skeptical. “Or have you all come here to kidnap me with those expensive cars of yours?”Henry shook his head, chuckling softly. “Oh, no. We aren't here for that, sir,” he said dismissively. “You'll have to come with us so you'll know better.”“Sir?” Eric frowned, unimpressed. “Why are you calling me that?” Henry chuckled lightly. “Like I said, when you come with us you'll get to know more.”Without waiting for another response from Eric, Henry turned to face the crowd that had gathered around Eric, his expression dark. “What were you all
