10: First day at the academy (2)

Nathan and Mike weaved their way through the crowded hallways, the buzz of excitement and nervousness palpable in the air. When they arrived at their classroom, Nathan was immediately greeted by Sarah, a girl he had met during the entrance exams. She invited him to take the seat next to her, and Nathan kindly asked Mike to sit with them as well.

As Nathan made his way to his seat, he caught sight of Kyle, Their eyes met, and Kyle quickly looked away in fear. Nathan chose to ignore him and focused on settling into his seat next to Sarah and Mike.

Just as they were about to chat, Miss Yanzi, the teacher, walked into the room, silencing the class. Nathan and the other students quickly settled into their seats, ready for the day's lessons to begin. Nathan couldn't help but feel excited about what the day would bring, knowing that he had a chance to learn with the other students here, and he would be able to watch them grow.

Miss Yanzi walked up to the front of the class and greeted the students with a smile. "Good morning, everyone. I hope you're all feeling excited to be here at Evalandor Academy. Miss Yanzi stood at the front of the classroom, her pink hair falling over one shoulder. "Before we begin, I want everyone to introduce themselves," she announced.

Sarah raised her hand eagerly. "I'm Sarah, and I like baking and reading.

The boy who had been saved by Nathan chimed in next. "I'm Mike and I can control flames."

Nathan leaned forward in his seat. "I'm Nathan. I like martial arts."

As Nathan introduced himself to the class, a group of female students in the back were whispering amongst themselves.

"Oh my god, did you see his jawline?" said Emma.

"I know right? And those eyes," replied Sarina.

"he said he is interested in martial arts right, I wonder if he's gonna be interested in me too," said Katie.

"He's definitely going to be popular," said Emma.

"Hay quiet down girls, now let's continue." miss Yanzi said.

Emma: Hi, I'm Emma. I have a talent for swordsmanship and I'm hoping to join the school's swordmaster club.

Sarina: Hey, I'm Sarina. I'm interested in archery and I'm planning to join the archery club.

Katie: Hi, my name is Katie. I love to tinker with technology, especially mana stone weapons. I'm hoping to join the school's mechanics club and maybe even compete in some competitions.

Kyle stood up and introduced himself to the class, "My name is Kyle and my superpower is acceleration, it's pretty cool if you ask me. But anyways, if any of you need help or want to train together, you can count on me."

All the other students introduced themselves leaving only Luna Miss Yanzi then turned her attention to the last student who had yet to introduce herself. "And lastly, we have Luna. Please tell us a bit about yourself and your powers."

Luna stood up from her seat, straightening her skirt nervously. "H-hi, I'm Luna. I have the power of marionette. It allows me to control the movements of others." She glanced around the room, her eyes lingering on Nathan for a moment before quickly looking away, her cheeks turning pink.

Several students raised their eyebrows in surprise at Luna's power, and a few whispered among themselves. Miss Yanzi nodded, impressed. "Very interesting, Luna. I'm sure we'll all be eager to see your powers in action during our practicals."

As Luna sat back down, Emma leaned over to whisper to her. "Hey, it seems you have a thing for Nathan. You should ask him out."

Luna's face turned even redder as she shook her head furiously. "N-no way! I couldn't do that."

Sarina chimed in, "Come on, Luna. You never know unless you try. And who knows, maybe he feels the same way."

Katie nodded in agreement. "Yeah, and besides, you're super pretty. I'm sure he'd be lucky to have you."

Luna smiled at her friends, feeling a bit more confident. Maybe she would try talking to Nathan after class.

Miss Yanzi stood at the front of the class, her eyes scanning over each of her students. She cleared her throat and began, "OK guys, let's start the class. Today, we will be discussing one of the most fundamental aspects of our superpowers: magic power."

She paused for a moment, allowing her words to sink in. "Magic power is the driving force behind our abilities. It allows us to harness our powers and use them to their fullest potential. However, many of us have yet to fully understand the nature of our magic power and how to properly control it."

Miss Yanzi's eyes scanned over her students again, ensuring that each of them was paying attention. "In this class, I will be teaching you how to properly control your magic power, or in other words mana. With this knowledge, you will be able to use your powers more effectively and efficiently."

She smiled at her class. "I know this may seem like a daunting task, but I assure you, with hard work and dedication, each and every one of you can master the art of controlling your magic power."

Miss Yanzi began her lecture on magic power, "Mana can be found all around us, it is a driving force which living organisms that can sense mana can use to alter and affect the world around them. However, it's not just about sensing mana, it's about controlling it. In order to properly control your magic power, you must learn to control the flow of mana within yourself and around you."

She paused and looked around the classroom, making eye contact with each student. "By properly controlling your mana, you can increase the effectiveness and efficiency of your powers, reduce the amount of energy you use, and even learn to use your powers in ways you never thought possible. This is why it is so important to master the art of controlling your magic power."

Miss Yanzi smiled, "So, let's begin by learning the basics of mana control. Close your eyes and focus on the flow of mana within yourself. Feel the energy coursing through your body, and try to visualize it as a stream of water. Imagine yourself redirecting this stream of water to different parts of your body, and then outwards to the world around you. Remember to breathe deeply and focus."

The class followed her instructions, and soon the room was filled with a serene and focused energy as each student tried to control their mana.

Miss Yanzi smiled and looked around the class. "You all did very well today," she said. "I'm impressed with how quickly you were able to pick up on the basics of mana control." The students beamed with pride, pleased to have earned their teacher's praise.

"Okay, that will be all for today," Miss Yanzi continued. "Please remember to practice what you've learned on your own time, and don't hesitate to ask me if you have any questions." With that, the students gathered their things and began to file out of the classroom, eager to continue honing their powers.

As Nathan was about to leave the class, a boy with dark green hair and red eyes approached him. "Excuse me, Nathan," the boy said. "I saw you during the entrance exams, and I was hoping to challenge you to a duel."

Nathan raised an eyebrow. "A duel?"

The boy nodded. "Yes. I believe that only by fighting strong opponents like you can I grow stronger."

Sarah, who was standing nearby, spoke up. "Nathan, I don't think this guy is all right. Maybe you should just ignore him."

But Nathan was intrigued. "What's your power?" he asked the boy.

The boy grinned. "I can manipulate the wind. And you?"

Nathan hesitated for a moment before answering. "I have the power of telekinesis."

"Interesting," the boy said. "I think we'll have a good fight."

Nathan glanced at Sarah, who still looked concerned. "Don't worry," he said to her. "I'll be fine."

They agreed to meet in the training grounds after school. As Nathan was walking away, he heard the boy mutter to himself, "Finally, a challenge."

Nathan couldn't help but feel a bit excited for the duel. But he also couldn't shake off the feeling that there was something off about the boy.
