In the small city of Greyl, there is only one noble, A knight, sire Barristan who is one out of many nobles in the world of Aetheria, he only punishes his offenders in three ways.
"Either they become his servants or maidens or he sells them as servants or maidens or uses them to gather resources in the advent of a raid. It's only very rare for him to execute a slave," Kate enlightened Lex.
A thoughtful look appeared on Lex's face, he absolutely knew all that she had said but wasn't going to miss the slightest opportunity of engaging her in a conversation.
"So sire Barristan's declaring my execution was merely a bluff to show to the other noble's who had attended his daughter's party."
"Yes," confirmed Kate, a warm smile forming on her face.
"Looks like we'll get to pick up dungeon resources together then," Lex spoke, smiling sheepishly.
"Not really," female slaves are usually rarely allowed to participate in dungeon works.
She then murmured, "I'll likely be sold to a tavern or used as a maiden in the noble's abode."
Lex, shocked, fell into thoughts, there were many things he had written in his story but he hadn't really paid much attention to the slaves and servants within, just like every other writer.
He then proceeded to ask a question which he had no answer to.
"Can you buy out a maiden?" He asked inquisitively towards Kate.
Kate pondered for a short while.
"I doubt, only if you possess coins and there's no way for a slave to make money here in Greyl."
Lex sighed, that was true, not only in Greyl, but in any city, even in the real world.
He was about to say one more thing, when the knight who had thrown him into the cell earlier walked into their midst.
Lex stared up at the green armoured knight.
The armoured Knight was also gazing back at him.
He untied the chains of the cell.
"Are you Gorin, the servant boy?"
Lex didn't have to look to see the betraying look on Kate, he had told her he was Lex.
Lying at the beginning of such a cradle relationship was a bad idea.
He then answered, "I'm Lex."
"Suit yourself," the knight spoke grudgingly, he then continued.
"The noble's daughter would like an audience with you."
"Me?" Asked Lex stunned as he hadn't recalled any sort of relationship with him and the noble's daughter in his memories.
He glanced towards Kate, she had already went back into her cell, there was no trace of her except for the glowing sharp scary eyes that glared at him from within.
Lex sighed as he stood, it was only natural for her to back down, it all depended on him now, their relationship wasn't strong enough for her to believe in him to that extent.
So this was where they are meant to part ways, still, Lex promised himself to get her out from the prison cell, if he had the slightest chance, he then handed himself over to the green armoured knight.

In the palaces library, the arousing figure of the noble's daughter could be seen seated at a particular corner, books piled at her front, she stared intently at the words in the pages, eyes darting from one direction to the other, the history of the world had always interested her.
As she went through the scrolls, the hair colour of one of the descendants of the Gregor the immortal reminded her of the scene that had occurred in a party that was held personally for her recently.
She studied the page in the scroll, her personal guard, Dane, walked into the library, dragging along with him a pale looking boy about the age of the daughter.
"You may leave us, Dane," spoke the noble's daughter, still concentrating on the scroll she studied.
Dane looked like he wanted to say something but walked out of the premises immediately.
"You're probably wondering why you are here, right? Well, of course you are," the noble's daughter teased.
"As you know, I'm Elle, sire Barristan's daughter. There was a party earlier today and though most won't have noticed it, we were quite pressured, both me and my father, most of the nobles who had come may seem like our close friends, but we both know the popular saying.
'Even nobles related by blood, as far as they are nobles, would remain enemies till the end.'
"Let me not bore you with my speeches.
"What I mean is that, the stunt you pulled gave my father the opportunity to resist any sudden attack or invasion from the other nobles.
He wished to annihilate you to resist them further but I stopped him just in time.
He doesn't have the time to say it personally but I'm here to say thank you," Elle spoke, her face still focused on her book.
"I hope to continuously abide by his highness wishes," Lex spoke, his head bowed towards the ground curtly.
Elle raised her head up from the scroll she studied, staring at Lex who remained in his bowing posture, she then gazed back at the scroll then spoke.
"What did you say your name is?"
"I am Lex, your honor."
Elle paused for a while, wrapping the scroll as she stood, "Rise, Lex."
Lex rose from the ground, his head nodding to the ground, she then spoke, "You'll be given the job of gathering resources in tomorrow's dungeon raid, be prepared."
"Yes, your highness," answered Lex.
Elle squinted her eyes as she gazed back at Lex again, something felt off in his wordings.
Her mind recalling the scroll she just read , she shrugged it off, going back to sit.
"Your highness," Lex abruptly called, "can u ask for a favor, ask on, The job I'm going on tomorrow, could I go on there along with every other person in the cell with me?"
"That's quite generous Lex, yes you
can," answered Elle.
"Yes," Lex said, amidst his thoughts he just killed two birds with one stone.

The Blue Fish
Lex sank deep into the ocean. The fall had been long, and he couldn't stop the momentum. He hadn’t held any breath earlier, and he was sure this wasn't going to end well. Blood spilled from the wounds on his back, and the poison in his legs had begun to spread. Lex knew that even if he somehow found a way to survive the first part of the quest, there was no way he could survive outside not while he was a useless slave. So Lex accepted his fate and embraced the cold of the dark ocean. His eyes closed as he recalled memories from his past life, how he had been absolutely average. He hadn’t expected anything from life, and life hadn’t given him anything without a bargain. So, was he going to go now?He was okay with it.{Ding!}The sound rattled in Lex's ears. With his eyes closed, he raised a brow, curious about what the system wanted from him."Hey system? Can't you see I’m trying to die here? Stop with the dinging."'I have accepted my fate. Even if I somehow make it out of here, the
The Ocean
The grip from the skeleton bird was tight. His eyes locked on the space in the ground were land had appeared. This was his chance and he wasn't going to miss it. Vines lunged upwards, twisting together like veins. Curling in the patterns in which lex had directed each of them. On getting close to his location, a loud screeched echoed from the skeleton bird. it was attacked by another bird of it's kind. Lex ignored that fact and simply focused on the vines he controlled. As the bird pulled him farther into the air. The harder it was to control the vines upwards. Soon enough he lost the control of the vines because it was simply to far away. The skeleton bird was not taking any chance on yeilding to the other bird that also wanted him as food. Lex reached for the dagger that was tucked at his side, stretching his arms with all of his strength. He pressed on. His fingers curling around it. And then with two fingers he gripped the handle. Lex tossed it up catching it and holding it fir
Vine control
Lex hastened his steps, each thud taking him as far as he could go. They were no longer just faint mana signatures anymore. The beasts had emerged from the bushes and were gaining on him at a frightening speed. But Lex ignored the fact that he could die at any moment and kept his focus on one thing. The quest. He still had to find the magic stones, and from the fact that the mages who created the portals had hurriedly sent him into a dungeon without preparation, it likely meant that the stones were not hidden but were placed in open sight. All he had to do was keep his eyes open and survive. Lex felt a mana-imbued strike coming from the left at full speed. He slipped, tripping on the snow in a very disgraceful manner, summoning his spell while in motion and materializing a vine ball that could shield whatever strike it was. The vines immediately enveloped him, but the force behind the strike was simply too strong and too sharp. It pierced through the ball like a blade. Le
Survive!
Clank! The sound of a beginner Knight's shield met a mana condensed arrow. But the raw power from the shot was enough to Parry and stop the hit completely. Back in noble barristan's arena, the crowd erupted in satisfaction as they were entertained with the pure massacre of the lower hand quest. "That's another brutal parry from mandarin!" The commentator yelled with glee as he watched Mandarin obstruct the strike at the last moment saving a total stranger. She continued with charisma, lifting the amusement of the crowd. One mage stood in the top balcony of the arena, channeling Mana from his palm and creating a wide divided screen view of each of the lower hand quest battles for the crowd to see. The screen floated in the middle of the arena, flicking every five minutes as it wasn't meant to be handled by one mage alone. Noble barristan sat at the royalty section of the arena, his gaze cold, absolutely devoid of any emotion of the sort. Many nobles had gathered here today, in
The Other Dungeons
The six eyes of the hydra instinctively snapped open, on sensing the imminent danger. Lex stood right at the entrance of the cave, fazed. His trembling hands clenched as he fell into resolve, he was going to take down this beast because that was the only way to survive. Vines materialized from the ground, surrounding him firmly, in a curved posture focused on the hydra right before lex. Lex had long awaited a response, right from the moment the hydra should have sensed Mana circulating through his body. He didn't mind. Neither did he care. Maybe thunder could indeed strike in two places at once. He wondered to himself. Lex took a stance and was ready to release the all out vine attack, but in a split second, the hydra had managed to send a strike at him, the strike was so powerful it sent him flying backwards various meters away and yet so fast, he was absolutely caught unawares. The hit was a shock to lex, he hadn't had time to prepare, neither was there a possible way for him t
The hydra
Lex let out a ragged breath and a weak shake, he'd been in the barely fitting hole for a couple of minutes now and the cold had began sinking into his very being. He had to leave really quick, not only because of the cold, but because of the lower hand quest itself, they hadn't been given any time frame and he was absolutely certain that sooner or later the ones with the magic stones would be transferred to the next round. For now, he had to find the magic stones and hold on to it, that was the most reasonable way to get out of this dungeon, it's not often a servant like him gets this opportunity. He retracted the spell. The vines immediately vanished. he was welcomed by the more intense cold of the dungeon.Compared to this, inside the vine ball was even warmer. He stood up on his feet, senses alert, eyes darting, this dungeon was even more dangerous than he has anticipated and he was going to take it more seriously from henceforth. Lex decided to check out the wolf and bear that had
