[Please choose your training mode.]

In the white void before Emrys, a light flickered, and suddenly, a semi-transparent screen materialized in front of him, displaying four glowing options lined up horizontally: Easy Mode, Difficult Mode, Nightmare Mode, and Hell Mode.

Each option hovered like a floating panel of light, gently pulsing with energy. Emrys narrowed his eyes slightly as his gaze swept across the modes.

"Easy Mode is useless for me... Hell Mode? Maybe later." Emrys didn't want to choose easy mode because he thought he could pass the easy mode easily. He paused for a moment and then tapped on Difficult Mode.

The moment his finger touched the panel, it dissolved into particles, and the voice returned.

[Training mode selected: Difficult.]

[Please, choose your battle mode.]

Another flicker of light reshaped the screen in front of him. This time, three new options appeared, each with a brief animated display next to them:

The first was [Solo Challenge Mode]. The animated display displayed a lone figure standing surrounded by monstrous opponents.

The second was [Arena Battle Mode], and the image displayed two warriors clashing in a glowing coliseum while a leaderboard hovered beside them.

The third and final mode was [Survival Apocalypse Mode], and the background displayed a ruined city consumed by flames and chaos, with beasts and machines swarming in the background.

Emrys didn't know much about these three modes, but he can guess one or two things. Thinking for a few seconds, he touched Solo Challenge Mode first.

Immediately, the screen shifted again. A gallery of different environments appeared in a grid before him. Each gird had a visual preview and a name.

[Snowy Plains], [Scorched Desert], [Emerald Forest], [Apocalyptic City], [Abyssal Ruins], [Molten Core], [Floating Sky Isles], and many more.

There were simply too many options.

Emrys glanced over them one by one but shook his head. Then he pressed a button to return, and once again, the three battle modes appeared. This time, he chose Arena Battle Mode.

Suddenly, the white space around him pulsed a little, and the interface expanded. Unlike the Solo Battle Mode, the voice appeared this time again.

[Arena Battle Mode selected.]

[This mode allows participants to engage in battles with opponents of equal or higher strength.]

[Ranked Matches are available.]

At the same time, a huge golden obelisk materialized beside the screen. There were many shimmering names engraved on it. Each name represented current top contenders. At the very top was a section labeled Top 100, which was glittering like starlight.

[Victory will increase your ranking. Higher rankings grant greater visibility and rewards within the Virtual Community.]

[Every time your rank increases within the Top 100, new rewards will be issued automatically.]

Emrys raised an eyebrow. He observed every detail very carefully and understood most of it. In the end, he muttered, "So Arena Battle Mode is like a competition where the more battle I win, the higher my ranking will be, and the greater the reward. However, only the top 100 will obtain rewards."

At the same time, Emrys understood that ranking in the top hundred would not be easy. There were simply too many people on the ranking board. It seemed that the rankings in the virtual space were not limited to the Silent Order Academy alone, it was like a virtual reality game where people from all over the world could enter, fight, win, and rise in rank.

The Silent Order Academy is using the Virtiual Space to train their students, which is also to let the students have experience before entering the real world where death means true death.

Emrys took a deep breath and then pressed the return button again. Then he glanced at the last option: [Survival Apocalypse Mode].

He had already looked at the first two options. Now, he tapped on the third option.

The screen before him transformed again. A short video was played where a lone warrior was dropped into a ruined world filled with beasts, machine predators, and collapsing structures.

At the same time, the announcer-like voice echoed in his ear again.

[Survival Apocalypse Mode selected.]

[In this mode, you will be thrown into extreme survival scenarios. There is no time limit. All you have to do is fight for your survival. Survive as long as possible. Your performance will be recorded and graded.]

[Rankings and rewards also apply in this mode.]

Emrys gave it a moment of thought and nodded in understanding.

Now that he understood the three battle modes, it was time to truly make a choice.

"There is no need to go for the Solo Challenge Mode yet. As for the Survival Apocalypse Mode, let's face it some other time."

Emrys then turned his gaze back to Arena Mode and selected it in finality.  "What I want now is to experience some real combat and check the extent of my strength. Arena Battle Mode is the best option to go with."

As he selected the Arena Battle Mode, the voice echoed again.

[Arena Battle Mode confirmed.]

[Searching for suitable opponents...]

[Opponent Selected!]

[Warrior "The_Shadow_That_Yawns" will enter the Arena in ten seconds.]

[10, 9, 8, 7, ...]

As the countdown ticked from ten to one, the white space around Emrys began to ripple. His vision blurred for a brief moment before everything cleared again.

The next instant, Emrys found himself standing in an arena.

Emrys looked around curiously and saw towering walls of metallic stone stretching high into the sky. The ground beneath his feet also seemed to be made from an alloy that could withstand huge impacts easily.

"Is everything here truly virtual?"

Emrys was shocked. He didn't expect this virtual space to reflect everything in such vivid detail. It was as if this virtual space was not virtual but a part of the real world.

He also saw hundreds of spectators surrounding the arena. These hundreds of people were here to witness the battle between two War Lords and enjoy.

Currently, Emrys was standing alone in the Arena. His opponent had yet to appear.

After waiting for a few more seconds, a light flashed and a middle-aged man appeared before Emrys.

As the man appeared, a detail flashed in Emrys's eyes.

Emrys frowned. He didn't like this feeling. It was uncomfortable. When he saw Otto glance toward the middle-aged man beside him, his figure vanished in a flash, reappearing right in front of Otto. That's when he caught Otto’s words, and his expression instantly turned cold. He was unable to control himself and coldly spoke, "Hey, is it really okay for you to discuss something like this so openly?"Otto, Beau, and everyone behind him felt their scalps go numb upon hearing this cold voice. A chill ran down their spines and a fear pierced straight into their souls.
