"Dean, are you sure about that? You want me to bring Miss Evelyn to Base 12?"
Max's voice held a hint of surprise as he looked at the composed man before him.
Larry Yorsel, the Dean of Base 8, was slowly sipping from a porcelain cup filled with steaming tea while reclining on a deep blue sofa. His expression was relaxed, but there was a glimmer of calculation in his eyes.
A girl could be seen sitting quietly beside Max. Her posture was elegant and composed. She was breathtakingly beautiful. She had long blue hair and calm violet eyes.
This was Evelyn Virelan, a known prodigy of the Silent Order Academy.
Larry gently set his teacup down and nodded, and a strange smile formed on his lips.
"Yes. Evelyn will go to Base 12," he said in a slow and deliberate tone. "You should know Evelyn is not just a student, she is one of the academy's most talented cultivators in recent generations. The Principal himself made this decision after hearing about Emrys."
Max's eyes widened slightly.
The Principal had decided to send Evelyn to Base 12.
Why?
Larry continued, "Since Emrys has chosen to stay in Base 12, the Principal wants to test him further. Evelyn will be the first student officially assigned to him."
Max glanced at Evelyn, who showed no reaction. She was clearly already aware of this arrangement.
"Ten days from now, the Silent Order Academy will hold a student recruitment event. On that day, Emrys must return to the main academy to personally accept a few more students under his wing. From this moment on, he is no longer just someone staying in Base 12, he will truly be recognized as the Dean of Base 12."
Larry smiled again and continued. "His strength qualifies him to become the Dean of Base 12. Moreover, he was brought to the base by that person before his death. Not to mention the Principal, even we, the Deans of hidden bases could not ignore a person brought by Jace Leventhor."
He paused, then added in a more serious tone, “Also, Max, make sure to deliver this clearly: The Principal has given Emrys a second option as well. If he does not wish to remain in Base 12, he may choose to come to the main academy instead. There, he'll be granted full status, resources, and position equivalent to a Dean."
Larry leaned back and picked up his tea again, eyes calm yet sharp.
"Either way, the academy is keeping him close from now on. Now, go on."
Max nodded solemnly and asked no further questions.
Silently giving the beautiful girl a deep look, he stood up and left.
Evelyn also stood up and followed behind him. Her face was without any expression. She appeared unusually cold.

【Ding! Congratulations to the host for signing in and obtaining Crystal Ice Bead.】
【Crystal Ice Bead: is a Sixth-rank Treasure filled with pure ice elemental energy. It's especially helpful for cultivators with an ice element talent. By absorbing the energy inside the bead, they can quickly improve their strength and gain a deeper understanding of ice-related skills and techniques.】
A crystal bead materialized in Emrys's hand as he looked at its description. It was cold to hold and almost froze Emrys's hand.
Fortunately, he was a warrior, immediately utilizing mystic energy to protect his hand.
"Although it is also a Sixth-rank Treasure, it is a pity I don't have any use for it."
Emrys shook his head and threw the bead inside the system's space.
Talking about the System's space, it was more like a game-type inventory given to Emrys for storing his treasures. The only difference between a typical game inventory and the System's space was that it didn't have a limited number of slots. Emrys could store as many treasures inside as he wanted.
Emrys shook his head and headed straight towards the Virtual Training Hall.
Very soon, he arrived in front of a massive door. There, he scanned the black card beside the entrance, and with a soft hum, the heavy doors slid open smoothly, revealing the chamber inside.
Talking about the black card, he had snatched it from Max.
As Emrys entered the hall, he saw ten sleek Virtual Training Capsules arranged neatly in two rows. This time, he got to look at them closely.
After observing them for a while, Emrys chose a capsule near the center. He opened the pod and entered.
As he settled inside, the transparent lid closed down with a gentle hiss.
As the transparent lid shut down, Emrys felt a cool device gently attach itself to his forehead. A faint tingling sensation spread from the point of contact, and soon a wave of dizziness washed over him. The world around him blurred and twisted, then vanished entirely.
When the dizziness subsided, Emrys found himself standing in a vast white space. This white space was empty and silent.
The next moment, a neutral voice echoed gently in the air.
[Welcome. This seems to be your first time inside the Virtual Space. Would you like to create a virtual account?]
Emrys blinked in surprise.
Truly, he was momentarily stunned.
But then, he quickly thought of something. His mind flashed back to memories of his previous life back on Earth. The countless hours he spent immersed in novels and animes featuring virtual realities and MMORPG worlds flashed in his mind. He couldn't help but mutter under his breath, "Why does this feel exactly like those stories where people enter virtual worlds to play games?"
Shaking his head to clear his thoughts, he nodded and responded clearly, "Create an account."
[Initiating scan...]
A delicate light appeared out of nowhere and scanned Emrys's entire body in a smooth wave, collecting intricate details down to his DNA sequence. Data streams flowed invisibly in front of his eyes, encoding his unique profile and storing it securely in a separate virtual database.
[Scan complete.]
[Collection of DNA sequence, complete.]
[Account creation successful.]
[Welcome to the Virtual Training Space. Please add a name to your profile.]
A light flickered in front of Emrys and an interface appeared.
This was Emrys's profile. He was surprised to see that he was truly scanned thoroughly. Even his cultivation was detected perfectly.
"The_Shadow_That_Yawns!"
Emrys added the name and the profile creation was complete.

But as the gaze refused to shift, a faint unease settled in his heart. That was when he noticed Otto and his group. He noticed something sinister in Otto’s eyes, something greedy and malicious, as if he intended to take something from Emrys or harm someone close to him. Emrys frowned. He didn't like this feeling. It was uncomfortable. When he saw Otto glance toward the middle-aged man beside him, his figure vanished in a flash, reappearing right in front of Otto. That's when he caught Otto’s words, and his expression instantly turned cold. He was unable to control himself and coldly spoke, "Hey, is it really okay for you to discuss something like this so openly?"Otto, Beau, and everyone behind him felt their scalps go numb upon hearing this cold voice. A chill ran down their spines and a fear pierced straight into their souls.
