ISIS, THE MOTHER GODDESS

A cold aura emanated from his body as the guards collapsed, foaming at the mouths.

Theresa dropped to her knees, her breathing heavy. Ruth glanced at Maxwell, a cold sweat breaking out on her.

" Put the stone away" Ruth shouted as she reached out for it.

Estel was puzzled as to why they were overreacting. She closed her hand, the hand that held the pebble and placed it in her pocket.

The stone had reacted to Maxwell exploding his nonexistent aura to that of a cold and domineering one.

Maxwell turned his head, looking furiously at Ruth, who had been barely hanging on, and fell to her knees when her gaze met his.

" Maxy, that's enough", Estel said as she grabbed Maxwell's hands affectionately.

She had become aware of what was happening. It seemed Maxwell's aura was too much for them to handle.

Maxwell's gaze softened as the invisible pressure disappeared.

Ruth's body fell, as she breathed heavily trying to recover whatever little strength she still had left.

" It seems you have grown stronger, you were unaffected by my aura", Maxwell said as he turned, his gaze meeting hers.

" What aura, your aura if let out could even destroy mountains, I have not grown that much but it seems you have grown weaker... It might have something to do with your rebirth" Este exclaimed as she looked curiously at Maxwell.

Maxwell ignored her, his soft gaze became stern.

"Give me the stone; I have waited too long... those bastards have to pay. They even had the guts to destroy the family of this life," Maxwell's gaze turned fiery as he spoke.

Estel nodded as she took out the black pebble, she reached out her hand in an attempt to hand it over. At that moment, the sky dimmed, and the scenery changed.

***********

Maxwell and Estel found themselves in what appeared to be a playground. The area was devoid of life and emanated a creepy vibe.

Seated on a seesaw was a striking woman donned in a flowing grey gown that draped gracefully over her form. Even in its loose fit, the fabric accentuated her curves, drawing forth admiration and affection rather than mere lust.

She looked at her guests, the ones she had brought over, and gestured for them to join her.

Estel complied moving as though hypnotized by her motherly allure. She left Maxwell's side and sat beside her.

" Maxwell, won't you join us" she spoke throwing Maxwell a warm smile.

Maxwell did not move an inch as he gazed coldly at her.

The woman stood from where she sat and made her way to Maxwell, " This appearance of yours is quite cute," she said reaching her hands to pet him.

" If you don't like that hand, then by all means do go on" Maxwell exclaimed his expression unchanging.

The woman retracted her hand as beads of cold sweat formed on her cheeks.

" I am sorry for my insolence, Let's talk in a more professional setting... and can I leave that one behind," she said politely, glancing in Estel's direction.

Maxwell shrugged, she took that as took that as a yes. With a snap of a finger, the scenery changed to that of an office. A late 90s-style office with two chairs, one behind the office table while the other stood in front. Maxwell occupied the chair behind the desk while the woman took the guest chair.

" Can't you wait a bit, you might get killed again if you attack them now" the woman spoke

" Die again, do you know how many times they have killed me, how many families they have destroyed... how many cities have been ruined all in the name of eradicating a mistake? Don't sit there and act all innocent, you manipulated me the first time I came to you for help. You will not be left unscathed after I am done with those scoundrels" Maxwell spoke, his tone becoming hoarser the more he spoke.

"I know I'm no saint, but can't you cut your junior sister some slack? I did what I had to do, but now I see the error of my ways," the woman said, attempting to act cute and win favor in Maxwell's eyes.

Maxwell ignored her and continued

" Why did you bring me here, I think I have gathered enough strength to rid the world of those pests"

" You mean that puny stone, and if you may have forgotten in this life you have yet to grow. You will meet your end if you act rashly. Revenge is a dish best served cold. Take your time, Thea and I and a few others will back you up. They have also been preparing so please..." she said in an almost pleading tone.

"Thea... ah yes, she's one of the few who has never wronged me. Perhaps she's seen something I don't know," Maxwell mused, his thoughts directed toward Thea, the blind goddess.

" But you, Isis, have wronged me, haven't you?" he said, his gaze turning cold as he looked at the woman identified as Isis, the mother goddess.

----------

Isis the mother goddess, is a god who was born after the first human birth. The first humans who were created and thus she was not born during that period but was born only after the first human had given birth to their first child. From then on, she grew in power as more children were born, now being one of the most powerful Gods to ever exist.

" I...I... at least didn't kill anyone, can't you just let bygones be bygones," Isis said with a pout.

Maxwell rolled his eyes at her and ignored her. He pondered for a moment before speaking."Regarding what you said earlier, you might be right. I shouldn't rush in blindly. I was too blinded by rage and might have gotten myself killed this time too. You have a point. I am too weak, and they might have found a way to completely eradicate me. I will heed your advice... Ah, It seems my time is almost up. I entrust myself to your care. If you do well, I might just forgive you. I will seal my memories, allowing only a little to resurface at a time." Maxwell spoke as his red eyes began to fade.

" I have a lot of legacies around the world and will have to get them before I start my massacre. When that time comes I will have to leave, fare well and please help make this life a better one," He said once more as the red color completely faded from his eye, his domineering aura disappearing into nothingness.

Maxwell, the five-year-old boy, looked around his environment, his clear blue eyes shimmering in confusion. His gaze met that of Isis, causing him to lose consciousness.

" Sister Ruth, he is awake," one of the nuns said as she opened the door to Ruth's office. Ruth stood, feeling a bit nervous about the prospect of meeting the boy again. She still vividly remembered the bone-chilling gaze and the pressure she felt from that small body. She tried to calm her nerves; during her unconscious state, she was visited by Isis, who instructed her to treat him like the others and to welcome Estel into the institution. As a humble devotee of the mother goddess, she had no choice but to oblige.

She bit her lower lip as she made her way to where the boy lay.

Before she entered she breathed and out in a rhythmic pattern seemingly trying to calm her nerves. She held the handle and pushed the door open.

" Max, how are you doing"
