The smile that dangled around Evelyn's face knew absolutely no bounds. As she walked towards her boss with a mocking smile that was directed towards Nicola's directions.
"I warned you sir that he was here to only cause trouble and nothing other than that. Do you believe me now?" The smile that was hanging on her face broadened even more.
The manager clutched his hands with anger until they popped, adrenaline quickly running down his blood as he turned around towards Nicolas with a twisted frown hovering on his face.
"I warned you, didn't I?" The frown that was hanging on his face deepened even more.
"I just got that card from the bank. I think it's a mistake or something." Nicolas replied but his Words only made Evelyn burst into laughter.
"As in, who is going to believe that?" She laughed even harder than she didn't realize when a drop of tear escaped from her eyes.
But Nicolas ignored her words as all his attention was focused on the manager Instead.
"You have to believe me. My account is sufficiently funded." He replied swiftly
Then it hit him that his card was a high-end one and they might be using the wrong machine for it, and that was the exact reason that it wasn't going through.
He walked gradually towards the manager, his words as persuading as they could ever be.
"I think that you are making use of the wrong machine?" He finally said getting the manager and everyone in the hall into a really confused state.
"What are you talking about?" The manager inquired firmly as his eyebrows farrowed.
"My card is a high-end card." He explained further without revealing the true identity of the card that was in the hands of the manager.
"I think that machine is not fitting for it." He finally explained.
At first, there was a sudden silence in the hall but it was soon preceded by the swift outburst of laughter that came afterward.
The frown of the manager tightened even more.
Evelyn was finally able to control her jaw-tearing laughter and she finally went ahead to say.
"Now I know what the problem is." She was trying as hard as she could control her laughter.
"You must have escaped from a psychiatric hospital. I think that after this. We will have to bond you and return you to one." Evelyn finally said in between her breath
With his attention still focused on the manager. Nicolas went ahead to say.
"You said it yourself. There is no harm in trying. You shouldn't do something that you concise is going to hurt you for later on." Nicolas struck a chord in his heart.
To the surprise of everyone present including Evelyn, he accepted, this time going over to get the terminal himself.
"Your punishment I'd going to be doubled if this doesn't work out." He growled at Nicolas swapping his card through the machine.
The attention of everyone in the hall was not as keen as it was the first time and everyone already expected that the card was going to be declined, just like what happened in the first instance.
The card went through red lights and green lights, beeping at regular intervals and finally, there was a pause.
A green light soon emitted from the machine, radiating throughout the whole hall at that instant.
Afterwards, there, a sound echoing in the hall multiple times as they could not believe what just happened. Right before their very eyes.
A smile hovered on Nicolas's face while everyone in the hall was still awe-struck.
Evelyn especially could not believe the sight that lay right before her as she stormed off toward the machine, rebooting it multiple times.
But that was still the same message that was on display on the app.
