Kalin coughed as he lay on the forest floor, or what was left of it. His vision adjusted and saw uprooted trees as well as splinters of wood and dirt everywhere.

Refocusing his attention on his objective he got to his feet to see that Roseline and Gloria were struggling to theirs as well.
“Is everyone ok?” Kalin asked.
“I’m alright,” Gloria answered.
“No, look at Lucien!” Roseline pointed out.
Lucien’s skin continued to grow darker as his body began to freeze up.
“We need to hurry! Where are the horses?” Kalin yelled.
“One was killed the other two ran off,” Gloria explained.
They began to hear shouts coming from the direction of the capital nearing their position.
“SHIT!” Kalin quickly picked Lucien up onto his shoulders and began to run off, the girls close behind.
