Close Call

The next day, Lucien found himself just behind a covered wagon about a mile away.

‘They must be making frequent stops if I’m catching them.’

He neared the wagon to see that it was indeed stopped. Looking around, he saw that the wagon was empty. The drivers and passengers, if there were any, were all gone.

‘Did they have to relieve themselves?’

Lucien was a bit curious, but nonetheless, it wasn’t his business.

He continued to walk by the covered wagon.
