Chapter 7

Two hours had passed since officer Sander's had left Bently Industries, yet Arnold was still feeling watched. He grabbed a phone and began dialing some numbers.

"Hello." Said Nathan.

"Are you still at school?"

"The principal sent us home."

"Why?"

"He wants us to prepare for the school's fundraising event. It was supposed to have been done the previous week but it was postponed because he was sick."

"Oh okay. Can you come by the office."

"Why, what's wrong?"

"Nothing is wrong I just want you to start doing those flyers I asked for."

"How much are we talking about?"

"For 50 flyer's I will give you 200 dollars."

Nathan smiled.

"I'll be there in fifteen minutes." He said, cheerfully.

Arnold ended the call.

Ten minutes later, the teenager did arrived

"You are a lot earlier than I had anticipated."

"I am fresh and young, what do you expect?"

Arnold chuckled.

"You will be a good leader one day. Coming on time is just one of the signs." He said.

"I know that I will. I am going to take over this company one day."

"Is that so?"

Nathan nodded.

His uncle was not pleased. He had a crooked smile upon his face.

"Before you start thinking about taking over anything. We first need to find out where my brother is. I want you to place his picture on that flyer, maybe someone out there will know where he is. The reward money will be 5000 dollars, the least."

"Okay "

"Don't leave just yet. I want to know how you are feeling?"

"I wish I could say that I'm feeling good but I can't. I worry about my dad. Him disappearing like this worries me. It makes me wonder why my father created the weapon in the first place."

"We wanted to make money and it was our first big project. It was going to earn us millions of dollar's."

"You were already making millions. Why didn't you keep the prototype to yourself? He wouldn't have been abducted. He'd still be here."

Arnold walked closer to his nephew and gave him a pat on the shoulder.

"Believe me, I wish it was me. I don't even know how they found out that Nathan and I had build a weapon. We never made the information public."

"Then you should start looking at the old video tapes. You could find out the person who betrayed your trust."

"An inside man?"

"Possibly "

Arnold chuckled.

"You should work for me in the future, you see things nobody sees."

Nathan simply smiled, yet he was not pleased.

"I should start doing those flyers." He said.

"The secretary will show your father's office. All the equipment you need will be in there available for you to start your work."

"Cool."

"Don't forget to add the Bently contact numbers."

Nathan did as he was told. While Arnold sat in his office, still in his thoughts.

A day had passed since Simon was rescued. His new room was also enclosed but there was a sense of life. For starters, he could be able to see the green grass and trees through a large window. Even though he attempted several times to escape, the glads just would not break. It was bullet proof. There were three pots of flowers on the table which was a little further on the left side of his bed. There walls were completely white, the ceiling had bar lights that changed into a different colour after every single hour.

Simon was also changed into new clothing. A black shirt and blue denim.

His beared carefully removed. He was clean and he didn't not remember who did all those things as he was heavily drugged. Suddenly, he noticed the doorknob moving in an anticlockwise motion.

The man looked around for any sharp tool he could use but there was none.

A woman in a black mask entered. This time she had a black vest on as well as a black denim pants.

"Who are you, why did you move me?" Simon asked, worried.

"I am not here to harm you."

The woman removed her mask.

Simon was shocked.

"Pauline, its really you." He said.

"Yes its me. I had to get you out of there. Aren't you glad to see me?"

"But I am a prisoner even now. How can I be glad?"

"I brought you here for your safety. Bad people are after you and this is the only safe place for you for now."

Simon was still not convinced.

"Can I come?" The spy asked.

"Okay."

Pauline walked slowly towards Simon and when she was very close to him, she grabbed his hands gently and began to give them a massage.

"I am sorry you had to be a part of this. I will help you by all means." She said.

Simon smiled, tears in his eyes.

"What are you talking about?"

"Your laptop. It has something that they want."

"Who are you talking about?"

"Years ago, you and your brother created a prototype, a weapon."

"It was not my intention. Arnold wanted us to grow the company and he gave me an idea. I was excited about it and I began to design the project."

"Many bad people are after that project. They want it."

"But how did they know about it? As it was secret."

"That's what you need to tell us. Who else besides your son has access to your files?"

"My son has nothing to do with this. He would never be able to surpass my code's."

"Are you sure?"

"Nathan is bad at algebra, let alone a computer."

"Then who else besides your son touched your laptop?"

Simon sighed.

"What?" Pauline asked.

"I had a date a couple of months ago."

Pauline rolled her eyes.

"And did you fuck her?" She asked.

"No. I passed out during our meal. I woke up six hours later in my room with a headache from hell and 100 dollars missing from my wallet."

"Do you still remember the name of the place you met your date?"

"Gold cliff hotel."

"Good. Stay here. Someone will send you a plate of food. I'll be back later."

"Wait, is my son alright?"

"He's still alive and worried sick about you."

"Really?"

"Bye then." Said Pauline, making her way out.

Simon stood there smiling. Something he had not done for a long time.
