“I told you that my Spirit Dao Heart would make you strong enough.” Xian had woken up when he heard the commotion.
He had normally expected this young man to win, but to kill? That was different.
“Shut up!” Lin Feng was furious. “You didn't tell me that your power was this strong. How was I supposed to know that it would kill him?”
“It's his fault for messing with the wrong person. I thought you wanted to kill him actually.” Xian said, then he laughed again.
“There's nothing absolutely wrong with killing someone who tried to kill you first. If you didn't kill him now, he would have tried it another time.” Xian continued.
Lin Feng groaned, “Life is precious. I have no right to take it.”
Hearing the comment, Xian yawned, “Weakling, ” He mumbled, “Wake me when you have more food for me.”
Sitting on the ground, Lin Feng knew he had poked the nest of a hornet.
“They'd definitely come after me if I stay here.” He thought to himself. “Maybe it's time to accept my invitation into the academy dorm.”
It was bright in the morning and one of the perks of being a cultivator meant you had no intense urge to fall asleep.
Xian was busy sleeping in the spirit summon space, and Lin Feng only had a few clothes to pack into his backpack.
Using the Floating Falcon Steps, he arrived at the academy dormitory building quickly.
He checked the letter in his pocket, and collected the key to the room.
“They kept it for me.” He muttered, especially when he saw how dusty the room was.
“Too bad I'm not going to be staying here for long. Once the graduation ceremony is over, the application for Heaven's Sky Court would begin. Then I can truly experience the world of cultivation.” Lin Feng said to himself, dropping his bed before cleaning the room.
Once he was done, he began to cultivate.
With the new introduction of this power, there was no way he could keep on living, without learning how to use it.
“Xian, what other power moves can I do? How do I control the force of your power?” Lin Feng asked his summon.
Xian grumbled, turning to the boy, “I don't know. Don't disturb me.” He said, turning back to sleep.
“Acting exactly like a salamander. A slug even.”
“Damn you boy! Your ancestors are slugs. I don't why you were able to copy that guy's move by the way. Using cultivation manuals should get you the right moves, I don't know why you keep troubling me.” Xian yelled out and instantly vanished, before Lin Feng could ask another question.
“So much for having a helpful summon.” Lin Feng sighed.
“The only reason I could imitate the Lightning Blaze Palm was just my imagination. I didn't use the actual move. I just wrapped my hands with raw power and chaos lightning.” Lin Feng thought to himself.
“You wrapped your palm with the raw Primordial Origin power? Explains how you killed that man.” Xian chuckled, while he eavesdropped.
“I said it was a mistake and why can't you help you out?” Lin Feng was furious.
“Okay okay. You can use my abilities in any form. I have a lot of abilities, and I can't really remember them. Maybe they'd come back during my battles.” Xian said while he was deep in thought.
Hearing that, instantly gave Lin Feng an idea.
“I know how we can get into battles.” Lin Feng said.
“Are you going to be killing somebody again? I must warn you to control my power when using it against a human.” Xian said with a smirk.
Lin Feng rolled his eyes, “You are never going to let this slide, are you?”
“Never.”
Suddenly Xian remembered something.
“Also, my energy would attract more Primordial Beasts during your next summoning.”
Lin Feng jumped to his feet, “You mean I'm going to have more arrogant and hungry pests?!”
“Your ancestors are pests! Primordial Beasts like to move together. It's not my fault you pretended to have a wisp of Chaos Dao.” Xian said in defiance.
“My pocket can't handle it!” Lin Feng cried out.
“Not my concern, get a job or something. You need to feed us well or we can't return to our original form.” Xian picked at his teeth.
“That would be hard…” Lin Feng slumped on the bed. He picked out a ring from his pocket.
He had retrieved it from Houston's corpse but there was no time to look into it.
He sent his spiritual senses into it, and after a while, he shot up from the bed.
“Who would have thought an Outer Disciple would be this rich?” Lin Feng smiled.
“To even have a King Tier Dao Core?” Lin Feng brought out the purple core.
In his lifetime, he had only seen five types of Dao cores, out of the known ten
The common ones were the Mortal, Stone, and Earth type with grey, brown, and green colours respectively.
The fourth was when he came across a white Dao Core, and that was the Spirit Dao Core that was stolen from him.
Now he was holding a King Dao Core.
Inside the ring was also a good amount of beast cores.
The difference between Beasts cores and Dao cores, were the presence of runes on the beasts cores.
Sensing the scent of the King Dao Core, Xian materialized on Lin Feng's lap.
“What's that? It smells good. Feed it to me.” Xian demanded.
Lin Feng hissed, “Beasts can't use Dao Core. It's for me.”.
Hearing that, Xian frowned, “Not true Peasant. I am a Primordial Origin Dragon. I can use any core. Watch me.”
Lin Feng raised a brow, “Would the Spirit Dao Heart allow me to gain from this?”
“Yes!”
At the sound of that, Lin Feng emptied the contents of the rings on the bed.
Xian’s eyes sparkled. “Hahaha peasant! With this, you'd hit Dao Vein Realm before we faced that cat.”
“Are you sure?” Lin Feng asked, it was too good to be true.
However, Xian ignored him, and proceeded to swallow the cores, and gems.
Lin Feng’s heart ached him seeing how Xian devoured everything in minutes.
If he were to put this loot on the market, he would be able to buy his own house and a 3 star cultivation manual.
What made it worse was that there were more Primordial beasts on the way.
How could he afford such a level of gluttony?
“Why are you looking at me like that?” Xian gave Lin Feng a dirty look.
“Get into position so we can refine the Dao energy together, and then you can break through. For helping me, I, The Great Xian Xian, would also teach you a Primordial cultivation manual. Then you would have a fight move in preparation for that pointless match.”

Chapter 13
The second day of the Xialan Battle Royal dawned gray and cold, but the arena was already buzzing with gossip about the events of the previous night.Word traveled fast in a place like this. Faster than Dao energy.By sunrise, everyone knew about the death of the Slithering Snake Assassins."The three of them? All dead?""I heard they didn't even get a chance to fight back.""Who is this guy?""That's the thing. No one knows. He won his first fight yesterday with some little lizard beast no one expected to win, and now this.""A lizard? What kind of spirit beast kills three SSA?"The theories spread like wildfire through the contestant quarters. Some said Lin Feng was a rogue cultivator from the Eastern Wastelands, trained in forbidden techniques. Others whispered he was a disgraced disciple from a major sect, hiding his face out of shame. A few, the more superstitious ones, suggested he wasn't human at all.But the most common opinion, the one that circulated through the crowds gathe
Chapter 12
Zi Chen stood at the window of his newly acquired room, his back to the others. The Dao energy here was richer than anywhere else in the contestant quarters, but he wasn't cultivating. He was thinking."That masked bastard needs to pay," one of his followers snarled, pacing back and forth like a caged animal. The one Lin Feng had struck was still unconscious, taken to a healer an hour ago. "He embarrassed you, Brother Zi, totally disregarding your position.""Did you see how fast he moved?" another muttered, his voice carrying a tremor he couldn't quite hide. "I've never seen anything like that. Not even from the senior disciples.""Who cares how fast he moved?" the first follower snapped. "He touched one of ours. That's a declaration of war."The room buzzed with angry voices, each one trying to outdo the last with threats and promises of revenge. They were all furious. Humiliated. A nobody in a mask had made them look like fools, and worse, had walked away without so much as a scrat
Chapter 11
Lu Feng's jaw tightened beneath his mask. Of all the people to run into on his first night here, it had to be Zi Chen.He knew exactly who Zi Chen was even if Zi Chen couldn't recognize him. A direct senior disciple under the same master as Xiao Chen. If anyone in this arena would recognize his techniques or worse, recognize him it would be this man standing before him now.But Lu Feng wasn't here for trouble. He was here for Dao cores and a spot in the top ten. Nothing more."Fine," Lu Feng said flatly, turning back toward his room to collect his things. One of Zi Chen's followers laughed, a ugly, sneering sound. "Look at him. All that mask and mystery and he folds like paper.""The beast probably managed to crawl into top 100 thanks to heaven's luck," another chimed in. Lu Feng ignored them, stepping past them with Xian still draped over his shoulder. The little lizard's tail flicked once, twice, but he said nothing which Lu Feng found suspicious. "I found it amusing that you're
Chapter 10
The entire room erupted into loud cheers as the next contestants stepped onto the stage. Lu Feng looked around for the beasts' masters. Recalling Long Beard's words, he could tell that both beasts — the eight-winged Phoenix and ten-whiskers Wildcat were both spiritual summons.Long Beard was right, there is always a glimpse of worry in the eyes of the masters taking the risk of allowing their spirit beasts to go into battle. Lu Feng couldn't quite blame them. They had a greater chance of winning with their spirit beasts than with a contracted beast. Unless it was an S grade beast, they stood no chance of winning, and S grade beasts were not so easy to come by.Staying hidden behind a pillar and blending with the shadows, Lu Feng couldn't help but wonder which spirit beast would emerge the winner. After all, they were both strong enough to be called A grade spirit beasts."Quite an unusual spirit beast you have there," Long Beard muttered from behind Lu Feng, his eyes fixated on Xian s
Chapter 9
The advertisement Lin Feng had shown Xian was a competition of Spirit beasts. With the immense size of Sky Court city, it was obvious that there would be some shady business going on.Lin Feng wore a black mask, covering his face and making him unrecognisable. It was in the middle of the night and after asking for directions he was able to find the place.“Who do you want to place your bet on tonight?” Outside a black door, two men stood outside, and Lin Feng could hear them eavesdropping.“So they place bets in this place?” He brought his hands to his chin.“Xian, are you sure you can defeat a lot of beast at this stage? Should we go back in case you can't win?” Lin Feng communicated with Xian in his head.Xian fumed, “Shut up Peasant. Be grateful I want to work for the both of us.” The lizard uttered, stretching its back.Lin Feng could only chuckle. He had nothing to worry about.Walking towards the door, he held out a token for them.“I'm here for the Beast Match.”One of the gua
Chapter 8
The great Xialan City was where Lin Feng was raised, and it consisted of various other sects, acting under a single ruler. The Prime Ruler of Xialan City was a prodigy from the Feng Sect, named Jian Feng. He had reached the peak stage of the Dao Soul Realm. If he spent more time in seclusion than in ruling the city, people estimated that he would hit the Dao Unity Realm in a few millennia.“Would hosting the Xialan Battle Royale be a good choice at this time?” Jian Feng asked the man beside him. This man was the second elder of the Feng Sect, Gu Feng.“We have no choice. That scum, Lin Feng, has ruined the sect's reputation. We barely have more than ten youths applying to join our sects. In fifty years, the sect would be wiped out at this rate.” Jian Feng appeared in deep thoughts. “Wasn't he the young man that raped Yun Feng?”“Yes, that bastard. I'm grateful that Xiao Chen still chooses to wed Yun Feng after the incident.” Gu Feng let out a sigh of relief. Love these days was truly
