A week went by in a flash.

Lin Feng has spent the time locked up in his dorm room.

Though he skipped the graduation ceremony, he was practicing the new move Xian had taught him.

There were countless wounds on his body and sweat pooled on his forehead.

“I'm surprised that you are able to come this far. Most humans would have died.” Xian said with an air of satisfaction.

Lin Feng gritted his teeth. How could this salamander forget that he, Lin Feng, had also almost died.

“I haven't gotten it to perfection.” Lin Feng said, getting into a fighting stance again.

Xian could only watch the young man.

From the few days he had spent with him, he already understood that this man wasn't driven by a thirst for power.

But he still didn't know what drove him to push his body so hard.

“Peasant, why do you work so hard? Do you plan to stand at the pinnacle of power by my side?” Xian asked with a smirk

“Revenge.” Lin Feng uttered, while still practicing his Primordial move.

This caught Xian off guard, but he didn't say anything

When Lin Feng was done, he walked into the bathroom and took his bath.

He hadn't had one in almost a week, because of the time it took to practice a single step from the moves.

“Once I'm done with my plans, I can get into Heaven's Sky Court and leave this damned sect.”

“Would you go straight to meet your challenger?” Xian asked him, leaping onto his shoulders.

Lin Feng shook his head, “I'd have to go collect my Prime Jade Token. Every graduate student needs that to apply at the Heaven's Sky Court.”

Xian nodded, “Why do you want to even go to such a place? I can teach you everything you need right here! As the Great Xian Xian!”

“Xiao Chen is a Core Disciple of the Heaven's Sky Court. The year he came back to deliver resources to his lover, Yun Feng was the year they connived to frame me.” Lin Feng explained.

“Would you allow revenge to determine your life's path?” Xian was curious. He had seen a lot of cultivators in his long years, and the lot who had lived for revenge never ended well.

Lin Feng smiled, “I only want to clear my name, and once that happens. I'd create my own sect. A sect that deals in fairness and honesty, one that empowers the weak, and creates people filled with strength.”

Xian merely nodded. “If you were alone, you'd have failed. But now that I am with you, you have a greater chance of success.”

“You praise yourself too much.” Lin Feng rolled his eyes, stepping out of his room.

On reaching the hall, he had expected everyone to be back from the ceremony but the place was still empty.

“Is it still going on? It wouldn't hurt to check anyways.” Lin Feng muttered and found his way to the large event hall.

The moment he entered, the echoing of the announcer's voice resounded in the hall.

“Lin Feng. Please come to the stage in honour of being the best graduating student in the academy.”

In Lin Feng's summon space, Xian could barely contain his laughter.

“This has to be the best timing I have seen.” He erupted in laughter.

Lin Feng furrowed his brow, especially when the camera was pointed at him.

No one clapped and they all merely looked at him.

“At least I get what I came for.” Lin Feng mumbled.

He walked to the stage, holding his head high, whole Xian laid on top of his head, tanning his stomach with the hot sun.

The educator held the graduation scroll wrapped with a red ribbon.

“Congratulations on being a student of ThunderGale Academy. We hope to see you achieve more esteemed feats.” The educator said, but didn't even spare a glance at Lin Feng.

Something was wrong and Lin Feng frowned.

“I'm meant to get a Prime Jade Token also, like the other graduating students.” He said, looking at the educator.

“Unfortunately Lin Feng, due to your previous actions and reputation as a rapist and a murderer. The academy forbids you from representing them in the Heavens Sky Court Institution.”

A murderer?

That one was new.

Lin Feng narrowed his gaze, “I was in self defense and his death was his own fault.” He uttered, his voice heard by everyone.

However, it was only met with boos and shaming from the crowd.

“These disgusting humans.” Lin Feng clenched his fist.

He didn't care. If they didn't give him the Jade Token, he would find another way to get it.

“Unfortunately Lin Feng, that wasn't the story we heard.” The educator said, but Lin Feng was already walking away.

He didn't care what they heard, and now he had no reason to stay in this toxic city.

A loud roar echoed in the hall, and a lion made of flames leapt forward, blocking Lin Feng's path.

They stood in the middle of the hall.

Williams jumped down from his summon, an evil smile was plastered to his face.

“To think you'd do even more wicked things by killing a cultivator. You reduced our nation's fighting chance against the Preliminary Sect War.” William called out, earning cheers from the crowd.

“It is only right that you must be dealt with and let me remind you that you already accepted my duel last week.” William repeated.

Lin Feng smiled. This William was truly cunning.

He gained the crowd's approval by using a sense of justice and removed their guilt by making it look like Lin Feng agreed to it.

“Even if I escaped here, you would have found other ways to kill me." Lin Feng uttered.

Williams snickered, “I'm not a murderer like you.”

“Flamelion, Rain of Ashes!”

The second day of the Xialan Battle Royal dawned gray and cold, but the arena was already buzzing with gossip about the events of the previous night.Word traveled fast in a place like this. Faster than Dao energy.By sunrise, everyone knew about the death of the Slithering Snake Assassins."The three of them? All dead?""I heard they didn't even get a chance to fight back.""Who is this guy?""That's the thing. No one knows. He won his first fight yesterday with some little lizard beast no one expected to win, and now this.""A lizard? What kind of spirit beast kills three SSA?"The theories spread like wildfire through the contestant quarters. Some said Lin Feng was a rogue cultivator from the Eastern Wastelands, trained in forbidden techniques. Others whispered he was a disgraced disciple from a major sect, hiding his face out of shame. A few, the more superstitious ones, suggested he wasn't human at all.But the most common opinion, the one that circulated through the crowds gathe

Zi Chen stood at the window of his newly acquired room, his back to the others. The Dao energy here was richer than anywhere else in the contestant quarters, but he wasn't cultivating. He was thinking."That masked bastard needs to pay," one of his followers snarled, pacing back and forth like a caged animal. The one Lin Feng had struck was still unconscious, taken to a healer an hour ago. "He embarrassed you, Brother Zi, totally disregarding your position.""Did you see how fast he moved?" another muttered, his voice carrying a tremor he couldn't quite hide. "I've never seen anything like that. Not even from the senior disciples.""Who cares how fast he moved?" the first follower snapped. "He touched one of ours. That's a declaration of war."The room buzzed with angry voices, each one trying to outdo the last with threats and promises of revenge. They were all furious. Humiliated. A nobody in a mask had made them look like fools, and worse, had walked away without so much as a scrat

Lu Feng's jaw tightened beneath his mask. Of all the people to run into on his first night here, it had to be Zi Chen.He knew exactly who Zi Chen was even if Zi Chen couldn't recognize him. A direct senior disciple under the same master as Xiao Chen. If anyone in this arena would recognize his techniques or worse, recognize him it would be this man standing before him now.But Lu Feng wasn't here for trouble. He was here for Dao cores and a spot in the top ten. Nothing more."Fine," Lu Feng said flatly, turning back toward his room to collect his things. One of Zi Chen's followers laughed, a ugly, sneering sound. "Look at him. All that mask and mystery and he folds like paper.""The beast probably managed to crawl into top 100 thanks to heaven's luck," another chimed in. Lu Feng ignored them, stepping past them with Xian still draped over his shoulder. The little lizard's tail flicked once, twice, but he said nothing which Lu Feng found suspicious. "I found it amusing that you're

The entire room erupted into loud cheers as the next contestants stepped onto the stage. Lu Feng looked around for the beasts' masters. Recalling Long Beard's words, he could tell that both beasts — the eight-winged Phoenix and ten-whiskers Wildcat were both spiritual summons.Long Beard was right, there is always a glimpse of worry in the eyes of the masters taking the risk of allowing their spirit beasts to go into battle. Lu Feng couldn't quite blame them. They had a greater chance of winning with their spirit beasts than with a contracted beast. Unless it was an S grade beast, they stood no chance of winning, and S grade beasts were not so easy to come by.Staying hidden behind a pillar and blending with the shadows, Lu Feng couldn't help but wonder which spirit beast would emerge the winner. After all, they were both strong enough to be called A grade spirit beasts."Quite an unusual spirit beast you have there," Long Beard muttered from behind Lu Feng, his eyes fixated on Xian s

The advertisement Lin Feng had shown Xian was a competition of Spirit beasts. With the immense size of Sky Court city, it was obvious that there would be some shady business going on.Lin Feng wore a black mask, covering his face and making him unrecognisable. It was in the middle of the night and after asking for directions he was able to find the place.“Who do you want to place your bet on tonight?” Outside a black door, two men stood outside, and Lin Feng could hear them eavesdropping.“So they place bets in this place?” He brought his hands to his chin.“Xian, are you sure you can defeat a lot of beast at this stage? Should we go back in case you can't win?” Lin Feng communicated with Xian in his head.Xian fumed, “Shut up Peasant. Be grateful I want to work for the both of us.” The lizard uttered, stretching its back.Lin Feng could only chuckle. He had nothing to worry about.Walking towards the door, he held out a token for them.“I'm here for the Beast Match.”One of the gua

The great Xialan City was where Lin Feng was raised, and it consisted of various other sects, acting under a single ruler. The Prime Ruler of Xialan City was a prodigy from the Feng Sect, named Jian Feng. He had reached the peak stage of the Dao Soul Realm. If he spent more time in seclusion than in ruling the city, people estimated that he would hit the Dao Unity Realm in a few millennia.“Would hosting the Xialan Battle Royale be a good choice at this time?” Jian Feng asked the man beside him. This man was the second elder of the Feng Sect, Gu Feng.“We have no choice. That scum, Lin Feng, has ruined the sect's reputation. We barely have more than ten youths applying to join our sects. In fifty years, the sect would be wiped out at this rate.” Jian Feng appeared in deep thoughts. “Wasn't he the young man that raped Yun Feng?”“Yes, that bastard. I'm grateful that Xiao Chen still chooses to wed Yun Feng after the incident.” Gu Feng let out a sigh of relief. Love these days was truly
