The massive Flamelion rose to the sky, and let out a deafening roar.

Runes appeared around it, each of the runes generating a ball of earth covered with flames, and they shot down at Lin Feng.

“Xian! What happened to dealing with the cat for me?” Lin Feng snapped, staring at the massive flame balls headed in his direction.

Even if he could dodge them, the impact alone was enough to send him flying.

Xian yawned, “I already taught you a good move, do I still have to come help you?” He said, picking at his teeth.

Lin Feng frowned, this meant he had no choice.

He quickly activated the moves.

“Origin Slash.”

Lin Feng turned into a blur, moving into the gaps between each flame ball, escaping contact by a hair, and leaping upwards.

He escaped the shockwaves from the impact, using the balls in the air as a stepping stone.

Lin Feng appeared right in front of the Flamelion.

And the crowd gasped. No one saw how he moved, the only thing they caught was a blur.

However, right before Lin Feng could slash down, William shot forward.

“Don't underestimate me, Lin Feng. Ten Golden Palm strikes!”

“A 4 star cultivation manual?” Lin Feng recognised the move instantly, there was no way he could take it on air.

Blood spilled out of Lin Feng's mouth as he forcefully cancelled Origin Slash.

“Yes! Now that bastard would pay for dishonouring our Miss Yun Feng!”

“Kill him, Williams.”

“Go Williams!”

The crowd yelled with passion when they saw that Lin Feng was losing.

“Xian, I really need help!” Lin Feng called out.

And Xian materialized on his head.

Images of five large Golden Palms appeared in the sky, each of them spanning across five feet.

William smirked, “Once I'm done with you Lin Feng, I'd make you my personal slave and no one will stop me!”

To William, death was an easy punishment and he wasn't going to let Lin Feng to go that easy.

Especially when he had been in Lin Feng's shadow for a long time.

A loud roar echoed in William's head but he didn't know where it was coming from.

But it was distracting enough.

“Chaos Breath!”

Xian opened its mouth and its chest expanded, a wave of black fire shot towards the golden palms, swallowing the power of the move instantly.

Unfortunately for Williams, he was too close.

He didn't even have the chance to react, and the black fire swallowed half his body, erasing his left part completely.

From the left side of his head to his left foot.

In one blow, Lin Feng had killed his opponent.

The crowd was shocked and the only sound that filled the hall was the painful roar from the Flamelion.

Then it disintegrated, its cultivation heavily affected.

William's remaining body fell to the ground with a thud.

There was a thick silence in the hall.

Lin Feng couldn't be bothered.

He walked over to William's corpse and looked through the clothes.

“Found you.” Lin Feng pocketed the spatial ring he found, and raised the Prime Jade Token above his head.

He let out a small smile, turning around, and walked out of the hall.

“If they want to think of me as a villain, then let them. I'm done pleasing anybody.”

The event left the city in shock for three full days.

No one could understand what truly happened in the duel.

The first thing they saw was a black flame and the next, was William's corpse falling from the sky, split in half.

William was the first and only son of the fifth Ruling Elder of the city.

The Elder had gone on a long journey, and it was easy to imagine the level of pain he would receive from the news.

A gang of youths in the city didn't want to stand for this.

They were going to bring this Lin Feng to justice.

After searching the whole city, Lin Feng was no where to be found.

Ririn's heart ached when she heard the news. She had hoped he would visit her, but he never came.

“I hope you succeed Lin Feng.” She muttered, holding the necklace around her neck.

It was soon announced that Lin Feng had run away from the city.

The Feng Sect instantly labelled him as a sect fugitive, putting up a large bounty for him.

However, there was more in the background.

Everyone was curious about Lin Feng's summon.

Especially the aged elders of the Feng Sect, and this was why they wanted him back.

What kind of Grade C summon would be able to kill the master of an S-Grade Summon with one move?

“Now that you left. Where are we going to?” Xian asked, yawning as he turned on the boy's head.

They had left the city that very day.

Lin Feng looked at the ring on his hand. “Wouldn't that question be easier to answer if you could fly?”

“Hey! We both know that's not my fault. Once you are strong enough with strong Dao energy, I'd be able to evolve.”

Lin Feng scoffed, “Why is a Primordial Origin Dragon like you, relying on the strength of a normal human? Isn't that weak?”

“Your ancestors are weak! You peasant. If not for me, you'd have been smashed to death.”

Lin Feng laughed in response, “If I die, then you'd also be ruined. I wonder what your other Primordial friends would think when you are weaker than them.”

A vein popped in Xian's head, “Curse your ancestors.”

Hearing that, Lin Feng burst out laughing.

They had been walking for close to five days, but he didn't complain.

The goal was to reach Sky Court city, and then find a way to get an application for Heavens Sky Court Institution.

“But first, I need to get stronger.”

Xian raised his head, “Yes, you need to get stronger. You disgrace me when you shout my name for help.”

“Shut up!”

The second day of the Xialan Battle Royal dawned gray and cold, but the arena was already buzzing with gossip about the events of the previous night.Word traveled fast in a place like this. Faster than Dao energy.By sunrise, everyone knew about the death of the Slithering Snake Assassins."The three of them? All dead?""I heard they didn't even get a chance to fight back.""Who is this guy?""That's the thing. No one knows. He won his first fight yesterday with some little lizard beast no one expected to win, and now this.""A lizard? What kind of spirit beast kills three SSA?"The theories spread like wildfire through the contestant quarters. Some said Lin Feng was a rogue cultivator from the Eastern Wastelands, trained in forbidden techniques. Others whispered he was a disgraced disciple from a major sect, hiding his face out of shame. A few, the more superstitious ones, suggested he wasn't human at all.But the most common opinion, the one that circulated through the crowds gathe

Zi Chen stood at the window of his newly acquired room, his back to the others. The Dao energy here was richer than anywhere else in the contestant quarters, but he wasn't cultivating. He was thinking."That masked bastard needs to pay," one of his followers snarled, pacing back and forth like a caged animal. The one Lin Feng had struck was still unconscious, taken to a healer an hour ago. "He embarrassed you, Brother Zi, totally disregarding your position.""Did you see how fast he moved?" another muttered, his voice carrying a tremor he couldn't quite hide. "I've never seen anything like that. Not even from the senior disciples.""Who cares how fast he moved?" the first follower snapped. "He touched one of ours. That's a declaration of war."The room buzzed with angry voices, each one trying to outdo the last with threats and promises of revenge. They were all furious. Humiliated. A nobody in a mask had made them look like fools, and worse, had walked away without so much as a scrat

Lu Feng's jaw tightened beneath his mask. Of all the people to run into on his first night here, it had to be Zi Chen.He knew exactly who Zi Chen was even if Zi Chen couldn't recognize him. A direct senior disciple under the same master as Xiao Chen. If anyone in this arena would recognize his techniques or worse, recognize him it would be this man standing before him now.But Lu Feng wasn't here for trouble. He was here for Dao cores and a spot in the top ten. Nothing more."Fine," Lu Feng said flatly, turning back toward his room to collect his things. One of Zi Chen's followers laughed, a ugly, sneering sound. "Look at him. All that mask and mystery and he folds like paper.""The beast probably managed to crawl into top 100 thanks to heaven's luck," another chimed in. Lu Feng ignored them, stepping past them with Xian still draped over his shoulder. The little lizard's tail flicked once, twice, but he said nothing which Lu Feng found suspicious. "I found it amusing that you're

The entire room erupted into loud cheers as the next contestants stepped onto the stage. Lu Feng looked around for the beasts' masters. Recalling Long Beard's words, he could tell that both beasts — the eight-winged Phoenix and ten-whiskers Wildcat were both spiritual summons.Long Beard was right, there is always a glimpse of worry in the eyes of the masters taking the risk of allowing their spirit beasts to go into battle. Lu Feng couldn't quite blame them. They had a greater chance of winning with their spirit beasts than with a contracted beast. Unless it was an S grade beast, they stood no chance of winning, and S grade beasts were not so easy to come by.Staying hidden behind a pillar and blending with the shadows, Lu Feng couldn't help but wonder which spirit beast would emerge the winner. After all, they were both strong enough to be called A grade spirit beasts."Quite an unusual spirit beast you have there," Long Beard muttered from behind Lu Feng, his eyes fixated on Xian s

The advertisement Lin Feng had shown Xian was a competition of Spirit beasts. With the immense size of Sky Court city, it was obvious that there would be some shady business going on.Lin Feng wore a black mask, covering his face and making him unrecognisable. It was in the middle of the night and after asking for directions he was able to find the place.“Who do you want to place your bet on tonight?” Outside a black door, two men stood outside, and Lin Feng could hear them eavesdropping.“So they place bets in this place?” He brought his hands to his chin.“Xian, are you sure you can defeat a lot of beast at this stage? Should we go back in case you can't win?” Lin Feng communicated with Xian in his head.Xian fumed, “Shut up Peasant. Be grateful I want to work for the both of us.” The lizard uttered, stretching its back.Lin Feng could only chuckle. He had nothing to worry about.Walking towards the door, he held out a token for them.“I'm here for the Beast Match.”One of the gua

The great Xialan City was where Lin Feng was raised, and it consisted of various other sects, acting under a single ruler. The Prime Ruler of Xialan City was a prodigy from the Feng Sect, named Jian Feng. He had reached the peak stage of the Dao Soul Realm. If he spent more time in seclusion than in ruling the city, people estimated that he would hit the Dao Unity Realm in a few millennia.“Would hosting the Xialan Battle Royale be a good choice at this time?” Jian Feng asked the man beside him. This man was the second elder of the Feng Sect, Gu Feng.“We have no choice. That scum, Lin Feng, has ruined the sect's reputation. We barely have more than ten youths applying to join our sects. In fifty years, the sect would be wiped out at this rate.” Jian Feng appeared in deep thoughts. “Wasn't he the young man that raped Yun Feng?”“Yes, that bastard. I'm grateful that Xiao Chen still chooses to wed Yun Feng after the incident.” Gu Feng let out a sigh of relief. Love these days was truly
