The great Xialan City was where Lin Feng was raised, and it consisted of various other sects, acting under a single ruler.

The Prime Ruler of Xialan City was a prodigy from the Feng Sect, named Jian Feng. He had reached the peak stage of the Dao Soul Realm.

If he spent more time in seclusion than in ruling the city, people estimated that he would hit the Dao Unity Realm in a few millennia.

“Would hosting the Xialan Battle Royale be a good choice at this time?” Jian Feng asked the man beside him.

This man was the second elder of the Feng Sect, Gu Feng.

“We have no choice. That scum, Lin Feng, has ruined the sect's reputation. We barely have more than ten youths applying to join our sects. In fifty years, the sect would be wiped out at this rate.”

Jian Feng appeared in deep thoughts. “Wasn't he the young man that raped Yun Feng?”

“Yes, that bastard. I'm grateful that Xiao Chen still chooses to wed Yun Feng after the incident.” Gu Feng let out a sigh of relief. Love these days was truly strong.

“How would hosting the battle royale increase the sect's reputation?” Jian Feng asked.

Gu Feng felt like cursing the man in front of him.

If not for his strength and support of the Feng Sect elders, he wouldn't have been the Prime Ruler.

“We have a few prodigies that will participate.” Gu Feng said.

“I see, if they can take the cup and remain the tenth times winning champions, the youths would want to get trained by their sect.” Jian Feng nodded his head, it was a smart plan.

“Exactly.”

“Okay then, let's go ahead. The winner would have a week access to the Xialan’s spirit zone. This would also raise the standard for the youth.”

Gu Feng nodded in approval, “I'd inform the announcement to begin.”

And just like, two weeks after the Graduation incident, news filled Xialan City, generating a competitive spirit amongst the youth.

“I can't believe we have another chance!”

“Yeah, I also heard there's a week's access to the most dao-densed place in all the city!”

“You mean? The Xialan Zone? If I stay there for just one day, my strength would multiply ten times.”

“We have to win it!”

All the youths were pumped up!

Miles away in another city, Lin Feng opened his eyes.

“Finally I have reached the peak of Initial Vein Formation.”

Xian yawned, “Yeah! With my help. Learn to be a grateful peasant. Also I'm bored. When are we killing people?”

Lin Feng ignored the salamander, and drove his senses into his Dao Core.

There was a long, thick and dark vein protruding out of his core.

He had spent more than one week in seclusion trying to perfect it.

“Thank you, Xian Xian.” Lin Feng genuinely was grateful.

“That's Great Xian Xian to you!” Xian held his head proudly.

Ignoring him, Lin Feng rose to his feet. He dug his spiritual senses into William's spatial ring.

“That's all we have left. One 5 star cultivation manual, and some dao ores.”

“We still have Dao ores?” Xian crawled on to Lin Feng's lap.

The lizard had actually grown slightly big, and was now bigger than Lin Feng's palm.

Lin Feng scratched Xian's head, “You eat too much. They are earth tiers, I don't think it'd be enough for you.”

Xian was busy enjoying the scratching when he snapped out of the moment, “Don't ever do that again. And feed me the ores still.”

Hearing his sassy lizard's reply, Lin Feng chuckled and gave the ore to it.

“Also Xian Xian, do you know anything about this manual?” Lin Feng asked.

Xian looked at the manual, and then nodded.

“Why is everything in this era watered down? That's a weak version of the Primordial Behemoth Punch.”

Lin Feng widened his eyes, and took another glance at the manual.

This was a 5 star cultivation martial art, and this was watered down?

It made him think of how strong things were in the Primordial Era.

“If you recognise it, can you teach me?” Lin Feng asked Xian.

The lizard raised his head, and then bobbed it.

“You surprised me by perfecting Origin Slash, this would be a good addition to your skills too.” Xian smiled.

Lin Feng smiled back, then he went outside the house.

This was merely a rented place they had found in Sky Court City.

The city has taken them a week to locate and he was glad no one recognised him here.

It was easier to live his life in peace.

Sky Court City was three of Xialan City combined and it was the heart of business, every one from various places were welcomed to the city.

But an annoying thing was that he was constantly broke.

Lin Feng wanted to walk back into the house, when something flew at him.

Due to his quick reflex from practicing the Origin Slash, he caught it.

“Weekly News!” The news handler said, before zooming off on his flying summon.

Lin Feng nodded and opened the magazine.

“Interesting.” A smile appeared on his face.

“Xian, I have a new adventure for us.”

Xian raised his head, “Are we killing people?”

Lin Feng frowned, “Stop being so blood thirsty. And I don't plan to kill anyone. In fact, no one would know it's me.”

Xian instantly got curious. “What are you planning? It would get us more ores right?”

“Even better! We are going back to Xialan City!” Lin Feng grinned.

Xian's face instantly darkened, “I'm not wasting another week, walking back there.”

“I was moving while you were mostly sleeping.” Lin Feng rolled his eyes.

“Also don't worry, there's also another way to get money.” Lin Feng said, pointing to the lower part of the magazine.

Xian squinted his eyes to look at it, and grew solemn.

He was about to complain when Lin Feng moved his finger.

“Look at the price. That's a lot of Dao ores and I'm sure you'd like that.”

A crooked grin appeared on Xian's face.

“I'd burn my opponent to the ground!”

The second day of the Xialan Battle Royal dawned gray and cold, but the arena was already buzzing with gossip about the events of the previous night.Word traveled fast in a place like this. Faster than Dao energy.By sunrise, everyone knew about the death of the Slithering Snake Assassins."The three of them? All dead?""I heard they didn't even get a chance to fight back.""Who is this guy?""That's the thing. No one knows. He won his first fight yesterday with some little lizard beast no one expected to win, and now this.""A lizard? What kind of spirit beast kills three SSA?"The theories spread like wildfire through the contestant quarters. Some said Lin Feng was a rogue cultivator from the Eastern Wastelands, trained in forbidden techniques. Others whispered he was a disgraced disciple from a major sect, hiding his face out of shame. A few, the more superstitious ones, suggested he wasn't human at all.But the most common opinion, the one that circulated through the crowds gathe

Zi Chen stood at the window of his newly acquired room, his back to the others. The Dao energy here was richer than anywhere else in the contestant quarters, but he wasn't cultivating. He was thinking."That masked bastard needs to pay," one of his followers snarled, pacing back and forth like a caged animal. The one Lin Feng had struck was still unconscious, taken to a healer an hour ago. "He embarrassed you, Brother Zi, totally disregarding your position.""Did you see how fast he moved?" another muttered, his voice carrying a tremor he couldn't quite hide. "I've never seen anything like that. Not even from the senior disciples.""Who cares how fast he moved?" the first follower snapped. "He touched one of ours. That's a declaration of war."The room buzzed with angry voices, each one trying to outdo the last with threats and promises of revenge. They were all furious. Humiliated. A nobody in a mask had made them look like fools, and worse, had walked away without so much as a scrat

Lu Feng's jaw tightened beneath his mask. Of all the people to run into on his first night here, it had to be Zi Chen.He knew exactly who Zi Chen was even if Zi Chen couldn't recognize him. A direct senior disciple under the same master as Xiao Chen. If anyone in this arena would recognize his techniques or worse, recognize him it would be this man standing before him now.But Lu Feng wasn't here for trouble. He was here for Dao cores and a spot in the top ten. Nothing more."Fine," Lu Feng said flatly, turning back toward his room to collect his things. One of Zi Chen's followers laughed, a ugly, sneering sound. "Look at him. All that mask and mystery and he folds like paper.""The beast probably managed to crawl into top 100 thanks to heaven's luck," another chimed in. Lu Feng ignored them, stepping past them with Xian still draped over his shoulder. The little lizard's tail flicked once, twice, but he said nothing which Lu Feng found suspicious. "I found it amusing that you're

The entire room erupted into loud cheers as the next contestants stepped onto the stage. Lu Feng looked around for the beasts' masters. Recalling Long Beard's words, he could tell that both beasts — the eight-winged Phoenix and ten-whiskers Wildcat were both spiritual summons.Long Beard was right, there is always a glimpse of worry in the eyes of the masters taking the risk of allowing their spirit beasts to go into battle. Lu Feng couldn't quite blame them. They had a greater chance of winning with their spirit beasts than with a contracted beast. Unless it was an S grade beast, they stood no chance of winning, and S grade beasts were not so easy to come by.Staying hidden behind a pillar and blending with the shadows, Lu Feng couldn't help but wonder which spirit beast would emerge the winner. After all, they were both strong enough to be called A grade spirit beasts."Quite an unusual spirit beast you have there," Long Beard muttered from behind Lu Feng, his eyes fixated on Xian s

Should we go back in case you can't win?” Lin Feng communicated with Xian in his head.Xian fumed, “Shut up Peasant. Be grateful I want to work for the both of us.” The lizard uttered, stretching its back.Lin Feng could only chuckle. He had nothing to worry about.Walking towards the door, he held out a token for them.“I'm here for the Beast Match.”One of the gua
