The advertisement Lin Feng had shown Xian was a competition of Spirit beasts.
With the immense size of Sky Court city, it was obvious that there would be some shady business going on. Lin Feng wore a black mask, covering his face and making him unrecognisable. It was in the middle of the night and after asking for directions he was able to find the place. “Who do you want to place your bet on tonight?” Outside a black door, two men stood outside, and Lin Feng could hear them eavesdropping. “So they place bets in this place?” He brought his hands to his chin. “Xian, are you sure you can defeat a lot of beast at this stage? Should we go back in case you can't win?” Lin Feng communicated with Xian in his head. Xian fumed, “Shut up Peasant. Be grateful I want to work for the both of us.” The lizard uttered, stretching its back. Lin Feng could only chuckle. He had nothing to worry about. Walking towards the door, he held out a token for them. “I'm here for the Beast Match.” One of the guards took a long look at him, “You should know we have dress codes for this place.” The man said, crossing his arms. “How?” Lin Feng raised his brow, “Isn't everyone allowed here, as long as you have a spirit beast?” He tilted his head. “And where is your own spirit beast?” The guard cocked a smile, giving a signal to his friend. “If you think you are going to play with us, we'd have no choice but to kick you out.” The guard's friend stepped forward, slamming a fist into his palm. Unlike the competitors, and the other guards who watched the competition, they didn't have much fun. It wouldn't take anything from them if they could make their own fun here. “I have a Spirit Beast.” Lin Feng said, bringing his palm out. Xian appeared on the palm, staring straight at the guards, before bringing out its slithering tongue. Seeing the small beast, the guards looked at each other, before bursting out into laughter. “Is that what you call a Primordial Beast? That thing wouldn't even last a moment.” One of the guards pointed at Xian's head. But something strange suddenly happened. Xian spat out a tongue of black flame and it landed on the man's finger. “What the?” The man held his hand on shock. The black flame disintegrated the first finger, before moving on to the rest. “Ahh! Make it stop!” The guard's face was filled with snot and tears. Lin Feng had no expression on his face, “Are we permitted to enter into the building now?” He asked them with a calm voice. The other guard, looked down at this friend whose full arm was being eaten up by the black flame. The flame was about to reach the man's elbow. “We are sorry, please. Help him.” Lin Feng glanced at the man, and then sighed. “Next time, you won't judge by appearance.” He said, before snapping his finger. The black flame disappeared instantly, leaving behind a clean cut and bloody area. Lin Feng walked past the guards. It was this black flame that gave him the confidence he needed to win the match. “As you all know, the rules for the match is simple. Every beast coming here fights to the death. I'd advise you not to use your summons but your contracted beasts. However if your summons are stronger and you have a good chance, then you can go ahead!” In this world, there were two ways of getting Beast Allies. It was either through summoning a spirit beast, or the other way. This method was used by those who didn't have enough Dao energy to enter into the spirit world. They could contract the wild beasts of the land or a roaming spirit Beasts. Some were lucky enough to find a Grade S contract Beasts but it was very rare. Lin Feng has thought about this when he had first gotten Xian, because Xian was labelled as Grade C beast. Now, he was eager to see the type of beasts that would be coming forth. “Also there's a special prize for the person who can defeat our five times winning champion with his dual Elemental Rage Dragons!!” The announcer said, and a picture came to the large screen. “Xian, can you handle them?” Lin Feng asked. Xian looked up, “I killed their ancestors for dinner back in my days.” It was his usual bragging style so Linn Feng didn't think much about it. The announcer also listed out new applicants. When the picture of a small lizard came out, the whole crowd instantly burst out laughing. “It seems our player here is a first timer, but we'd be sure to give him a homely welcome.” The announcer said with a wide smile, causing the crowd to laugh even more. Lin Feng couldn't even be bothered. He walked to a nearby stand. “Please where can I place my bet?” He asked a man with a long beard. Long beard looked at the young man in front of him. He looked like those men from the rich sects, and Long Beard smiled. Getting this man’s favour might place him in a golden spot. “Hey, walk with me.” Long Beard said, handing his arm around Lin Feng's shoulders. Lin Feng didn't refuse. “In this place, you'd have to know who to place your bet on. I'd normally place my bet on those who have the spirit summons.” “How do you know those who have the spirit summons?” Lin Feng asked. “You look at the emotions of the master. Anyways, here's the betting area. You can do well to follow my advice.” Long Beard said, before standing by the side. Lin Feng smiled, he already knew who to place his bet on. “How do I do this?” A lady looked at him, chewing gum like she was being paid for it. “Get a bet tag of the beast you are going for and write the amount of Dao Cores you would place for the bet.” The lady said. Lin Feng nodded and placed the bet instantly. At the sound of a loud whistle, the whole place hushed. It was the time for the first battle. “I brought some snacks for you, Xian.” Lin Feng, taking out one King Beast Core from his ring. It was a core he had hidden from the gluttonous salamander, hoping it would give him a good energy boost at the time. “Pod Vs Nine-Solar Golden Basilisk.” The announcer called out. “It seems it's the first fight for our cutesy lizard. Let's ensure to encourage our new comers.” He said, and the crowd laughed again. There were no hard feelings from the crowd against Lin Feng's beast. It was just that after being used to ruthless monsters tearing themselves apart, it was hard to imagine a beast like this could survive. Lin Feng stood, while Xian crawled up to the stage. “Begin!” Xian turned to a blur instantly, shooting forward. The Golden Basilisk was ten times its size and they were beasts known for their armour tough skins Xian zoomed back and forth five times before coming to a stop. The Golden Basilisk paused, then landed on the floor with a thud. Defeated. In less than five seconds. It was a new record. The crowd was silent and suddenly a loud shout rose to the sky, creating a chain wave of cheering. This was intense. The video was played again above the stange and Xian appeared as a blur. The lizard walked to the side of his stage, before jumping and resting on his owner's head. Lin Feng cracked a smile underneath his mask. “Don't you think you did too much, Xian Xian?” He chuckled in his mind. “Respect is earned and by showing a staggering difference between my strength and this weaklings would I earn that respect.” Xian uttered. Lin Feng nodded his head. Every one had witnessed the birth of an underdog and they were excited. “P! O! D!” They all chanted. Xian frowned, “Why did you name me that, Peasant?” Lin Feng chuckled, “It means Primordial Origin Dragon. I'm not giving out your original name.” Hearing that, Xian calmed down, and he also liked it a bit. Within seconds, the lizard was asleep, waiting for his next match.Latest Chapter
Chapter 217
Chaos energy surged through Lin Feng's body the moment his eyes opened. The energy was violent, unlike the Dao energy he had cultivated over the years, and every strand of it seemed determined to tear his body apart from within. Blood seeped from the corners of his mouth, but instead of retreating, Lin Feng looked toward Xiao Yue with a grin.Xian understood what he intended to do.The dragon stepped away from the battlefield, folding his arms as he watched the two monsters before him.“I'll leave this to you two and go rest my bones.”Xiao Yue's eyes narrowed slightly, but Lin Feng had already moved. His figure blurred as he activated his Time Upanishad. The space around him distorted, and in the next instant, he appeared directly before Xiao Yue. His palm struck forward, carrying Chaos energy mixed with the power of Time. The attack did not simply explode against her defense; the chaotic energy twisted the flow of time around her body, causing the surrounding space to distort viol
Chapter 216
Blood trickled down Lin Feng's face as he moved backward, his eyes fixed on Xiao Yue. His breathing remained steady, but the frown on his face deepened when he sensed the sudden surge in the Dao energy of the sword in the distance. He knew that energy well enough to understand what had happened. Leona had found Elder Wu, and judging from the terrifying pressure coming from that direction, their battle had already reached its most dangerous stage. As long as Leona could keep Elder Wu occupied, Lin Feng only needed to survive his own battle. Unfortunately, surviving against Xiao Yue was becoming harder with every passing moment. She was a Dao Law Realm expert, and now that he was facing her directly, he finally understood how frightening the gap between their realms truly was. His techniques were powerful, his Dao comprehensions were extraordinary, and his Chaos energy gave him advantages that ordinary cultivators could only dream of having, but none of those things changed the fac
Chapter 215
Leona remained on her knees after Elder Wu's body collapsed, her chest rising and falling heavily as she tried to recover from the immense exhaustion consuming her body. The terrifying pressure that had filled the chamber moments ago had completely disappeared, leaving behind nothing but destruction and the faint traces of Chaos Dao lingering in the air.She stared at Elder Wu's face without saying anything. The look he had worn before his death remained fresh in her mind. It was not the fear that stayed with her, but the regret. He had finally witnessed the true height of Chaos Dao, only to realize that he would never have the opportunity to reach it himself.Leona understood that regret. In fact, she had once carried the same desire. She had spent her previous life chasing the pinnacle of the sword, refusing to accept defeat because she believed she had to surpass everyone else. Unlike other cultivators, she did not possess a spirit beast that could merge with her and increase her
Chapter 214
“Let me show you the real terror of Chaos Dao!”Leona's voice echoed through the chamber as her sword domain erupted with terrifying force. The countless sword paths surrounding her suddenly became visible, each one formed from pure Chaos Dao. They crossed through the space in every direction, creating a vast web of destruction that made Elder Wu's body tense. He could feel every sword path. That was what frightened him most. There was no blind spot for him to counter attack. He was totally forced into defense.Every direction he could move contained a sword intent capable of tearing through his body.Elder Wu roared and released his Chaos Dao to resist. His tyrannical domain expanded violently, colliding with Leona's sword domain and causing the entire chamber to shake. The two forces crashed against each other, sending waves of energy through the walls. For a moment, Elder Wu managed to hold his ground. Then Leona moved. Her body became indistinguishable from the sword domain. She s
Chapter 213
Elder Wu stared at Leona in disbelief, unable to understand what he was seeing. The hole in her chest continued closing until the crystalline surface became whole again, leaving behind nothing more than a faint glow. What frightened him was the sudden surge of energy coming from her body.He had struck her heart with enough power to kill her. Even if her strange body could repair itself, she should have been exhausted. Instead, her pressure continued growing.“How?” Elder Wu muttered, taking an involuntary step backward. His mind raced as he tried to understand what was happening. Had she concealed her true strength? Before he could find an answer, Leona disappeared.Elder Wu's pupils contracted as a sharp sound rang through the chamber. He immediately raised his blade, blocking the crystal sword that suddenly appeared before his face. The impact forced his arm downward before a second sword came from his left. He twisted his body, allowing the blade to pass close to his ribs, but a
Chapter 212
The air in the chamber grew heavy, thick with a power that made the very space around Elder Wu seem to writhe. Leona's eyes narrowed as she felt the shift, the familiar yet foreign energy coiling around him like a serpent preparing to strike. Her instincts screamed in warning. Chaos Dao. She recognized it immediately. It was the same power Lin Feng had tapped into briefly back at the cave, the same energy that had nearly torn him apart from the inside. He had survived only because of the tenacious healing ability of his body, a gift that had saved him from certain death. But Elder Wu was different. He was not merely tapping into the chaos dao. He was wielding it like an extension of his own will.Elder Wu's laughter echoed through the chamber, cold and triumphant. "You recognize it, don't you? Chaos Dao. The power that only those who have touched the hidden mysteries of this world can wield. And you, my lady, have the misfortune of being the first to witness my masterpiece."Le
