Song Lin no longer cared about his own body that would fall when he jumped to catch his son’s body, which shot down like a spear diving toward the foot of the mountain. Because if he failed to catch him, Song Lin could not imagine what the outcome would be. As a father, a child is the most precious treasure. Moreover, that was his only child, raised with full love and affection.

Bam! The two of them crashed into a tree, with Song Lin’s back slamming against it. Yet there was no scream, even though it was extremely painful.

“My son, how are you?” Song Lin stroked Song Que’s head. The young man was already quite grown, but he was extremely weak physically and unable to use energy. Everything about his condition had always been terrible. Song Lin looked very worried as Song Que still had not opened his eyes, but he realized that Song Que was still breathing steadily. That meant his son was still alive and in the same state as usual.

When he felt the vibration from the impact, Song Que slowly opened his eyes. He could see the face of the parent he loved dearly.

“Father…” he whispered softly.

He was already in his father’s embrace and realized everything. But he did not feel embarrassed. Some people would feel ashamed being hugged by their parents because they thought they were already adults and did not want to be treated like children. Yet in a parent’s eyes, no matter how big their child becomes, they will always remain a child.

But when he noticed blood on his father’s lips, he quickly stood up and freed himself.

“Father, you’re not well!” Panic was clearly visible in Song Que’s eyes.

“Calm down, son. Father will be fine.” Song Lin knew what he said was not true, but he had to lie to reassure Song Que so he would not worry too much.

“How can I stay calm, Father? I’m afraid… I’m afraid for you!” Tears flowed before he could finish his sentence. He feared that speaking those words aloud would make them come true.

“Father will be fine, of course with some rest at home. We should go back first and set aside everything else.” Song Lin slowly sat up. He could feel that his spine had cracked, causing his face to stiffen as he endured the pain. Even so, he did not say anything about it. If he complained, how could Song Que grow into a real man later?

‘You must be strong, son. You must become great,’ Song Lin prayed silently in his heart.

Song Que did not know what Song Lin was feeling. He hurried to pick up the crutches and handed them to his father. The two of them descended carefully step by step. One wrong step could cause them both to tumble down to the foot of the mountain.

Song Que wanted to carry his father, but his physique was so poor that Song Lin refused to risk making his son crippled as well. However, what Song Lin did not realize—and even Song Que himself did not realize—was that Song Que’s physical strength had already improved.

Earlier, he had simply been shocked because the power he had gained was immediately drained until nothing remained. That was why he slipped and rolled down. Yet he had not suffered even the slightest injury on his body, as if the wounds had never existed. If he recalled the moment he fell, he would certainly notice something strange about it.

Everyone watched the duo walking together, yet no one cared. It was as if they were merely trash to be discarded, not gems to be admired for their beauty.

They were all afraid of being affected by the supposed Mountain Demon possession of Song Que. So no one approached them.

But from a small room, Song Bai clenched his fists when he saw that Song Que could still walk normally and was even able to support his father.

“We can still put on a show later. I know you hate that trash,” said Song Yang.

“I don’t hate him, Father! I just enjoy punishing him. It’s good that he survived. That means I still have someone I can use as a punching bag during training.” A wicked smile appeared on his face as he looked at Song Yang.

“Good. In the past, I hated Song Lin because he was stronger and better in every aspect. But now that I have become the Patriarch of the village, I have lost interest in punishing him. So I leave his son to you. If Song Lin bullies you, tell Father. I will drive him out of the village!” The conversation between father and son continued for quite a while.

Song Que helped his father lie down on a bed that was not very soft. They were indeed very poor. Much of Song Lin’s money had been spent on treating his son, leaving them with only the large house, while everything inside had gradually diminished.

“Rest, Father. I will go get medicine from the Medicine Hall first!” Song Que immediately hurried out, leaving Song Lin behind. He was a very filial child and knew how to repay his parents’ kindness.

Song Que entered the Medicine Hall. He immediately spoke to the elder who served as the head of the hall.

“Elder, my father is sick, and I want to ask for medicine!”

“Poor boy, don’t you remember? All your rights were taken last week! There are no more supplies for you now. Come back here in three weeks!” he ordered arrogantly. He looked at the young man with disgust. Song Que had never contributed anything to the village and was widely known as its disgrace.

“But Elder! My father needs medicine right now. He has internal injuries. I want to request Dragon Tail Grass and Fire Dates!” Song Que clenched his teeth in anger. He hated these people who never remembered his father’s contributions—how his father had become crippled defending the village from destruction.

“I already told you—get out!” the head of the Medicine Hall shouted until his voice turned hoarse.

“You—” His eyes turned red. Tears flowed out, but they were red—blood. In the next second, his eyes darkened and emitted a chilling aura from within his body.

“I hate hatred. One day, you will die because of your arrogance!”

Song Que immediately left the Medicine Hall, leaving everyone inside trembling in fear. It was not merely the words he had spoken—the black aura seemed to strangle them.

Some of them shivered and unconsciously began sweating. The release of energy that made their strength feel suppressed was something they could hardly believe had come from a young man known as the village’s disgrace. If such an aura had come from Song Bai, they would have rejoiced at having such a talented young genius. But if the one possessing that aura was the disgrace they had ostracized all this time, then what awaited them would be revenge for the way they had treated him.

All the villagers had sinned against him.

“This cannot be allowed! It must be reported to Patriarch Song Yang!” The head of the Medicine Hall immediately ordered his subordinates to guard the hall properly while he hurried away.

Song Que, who had left the Medicine Hall, was still emitting that dark aura, causing people to move farther away from him—not out of disgust, but fear. Yet Song Que himself did not realize the aura he was releasing.

He looked at everyone along the roadside moving away with every step he took. It hurt, as if he were a plague.

“You all—huh!” Song Que was furious. He was truly furious. No one had helped when his father was sick.

Song Que returned home, but strangely, the aura disappeared as soon as he stepped inside the house. He saw his father lying there, and he felt extremely sad because he had brought nothing back from the Medicine Hall. He felt like a failure and sank into despair.

“Father! I couldn’t get the medicine to heal you… Forgive me, Father!” His sobs echoed as Song Que threw himself into his father’s embrace, making Song Lin feel as though his heart had been pierced by millions of steel needles.

“We are no longer wanted in this place. We should just leave, Father! For what? For whom should we stay here, Father? Enduring the cruelty of people who don’t know gratitude. They will perish from the greed and hatred they sow!”

“Son, you do not need to harbor resentment. That will only drag you into hatred and darken your heart. Then what difference will there be between you and them? I do not want you to live in vengeance. Live peacefully and remain humble. Father feels that his life can no longer be sustained. Everything that lives will eventually die. Take the ring from the drawer. It is your mother’s ring. Inside it lies a secret that can only be opened by the chosen one. If you cannot open it, pass it down to your child one day!” Song Lin said weakly. His spine had already cracked, and the fracture had pierced several blood vessels. It would be very difficult to treat.

“Father! What are you saying? That will not happen. I already lost Mother since the day I was born. I want you to stay alive and watch me become strong!”

At this moment, Song Que took out a box of needles. The box was golden, with an engraving of a flying crane on its lid. Inside were seventeen needles of varying lengths, carefully crafted to perfection. No one knew who had forged such high-quality golden needles. In truth, a complete set consisted of eighteen needles. However, Song Que always kept one needle inside his storage ring—ready to be used at any moment, whether for healing… or for silently taking a life. Though small, the needles were not merely tools of medicine—they were deadly weapons as well. In a short time, Song Que had mastered both aspects. With such skill, he could already be called a Heavenly Hand Physician. After Gong Hanbu was laid on the bed, Song Que stood beside him. He reached out, placed his fingers on the pulse, and began injecting his energy into Gong Hanbu’s body. Everyone waited anxiously for the results. They had never seen such a miraculous physician before. But if Song Que truly was one, then g

“Patriarch!” everyone greeted Gong Juan as he arrived with Song Que.Gong Juan waved his hand and asked, “How is the situation?”“Not good, Patriarch. Look at him—he’s starting to tire, but we don’t know how long the chains will hold. If they break, none of us may survive!” Gong Pei explained.Gong Juan looked at the clan ancestor—his own father. He remembered clearly that his father had once been a kind man, someone who avoided conflict. He had always been honest and highly respected, having reached the Peak Stage of the Energy Core Realm. He was the only one in the Gong Clan to reach such a height, elevating the clan to a first-tier power. But ever since his father developed this madness, the Gong Clan had declined sharply to a second-tier force. If things continued like this—if the illness remained uncured or if the ancestor were to die—they could fall to a third-tier clan. And that would be disastrous.Third-tier clans were often oppressed. Many of them constantly sought to rise b

Gong Hye was the fifth child of the second wife. She was the only daughter among Gong Juan’s descendants—and also the youngest. In fact, her age was nearly the same as that of her nephews.Hearing the news, everyone immediately rose from their seats. It had been about a month since their ancestor last suffered a relapse of his madness. Now, they had to administer calming medicine again to suppress it. However, the real difficulty lay in the ancestor’s strength—if not handled quickly, it could easily kill.Just the previous month, nine guards had already died. Now, who knew how many more would fall? They hurried toward the underground chamber. Along the way, Patriarch Juan suddenly remembered Song Que.“You all go ahead. Try not to get too close—just hold him off for now. Hopefully, the chains can still restrain him. I’ll go fetch som

Arriving at the Gong ClanSong Que entered the territory of the Gong Clan. The clan itself was located in a large city known as Green City. They headed toward a fairly large residence, led by Gong Juan.“Welcome to my residence, Young Master Song. I hope you don’t mind staying for a night or two—or even longer!” Gong Juan now acted somewhat respectfully. In this world, strength stood above wealth. Although he was wealthy, his strength was far below that of Song Que, who was still young. And the world respected the strong. That was why he treated Song Que with such courtesy. Building a relationship with him would only bring greater honor to his clan.He was very certain that even if all the Fighter-level experts in his clan were gathered together, they still wouldn’t be able to stop Song Que. For some reason, that confidence had firmly taken root in his heart. And it wasn’t without reason. He knew clearly that Wan Hong had reached the Middle Stage of the Fighter Realm, yet he had been

The Sword Eye and the pinnacle of magic were two existences capable of killing with nothing more than a gaze. However, reaching such a level required time and profound experience. There were specific stages to it—but there was no need to discuss them now.Wan Hong spoke,“You truly have potential, young man. I admire you. If you kneel now, I will forget that you beat my subordinates. And you can come with me.”Of course, Wan Hong had already thought things through. Even if he defeated Song Que, there would still be a price to pay. And in his weakened state, many predators would emerge—like tigers hunting a wounded deer. So, the best option in his mind was to make Song Que kneel and submit. As for himself, kneeling before a mere youth was unthinkable. That would be like inviting lurking predators to mock a lone wolf king separated from its pack.“I’ll give you a chance. Kneel and follow me, and I will forget everything that has happened!” Wan Hong repeated.“I’ll give you that same cha

The “painful greeting” was merely an expression—like a form of salutation. And Wan Hong wanted a greeting that would hurt, as repayment for the humiliation he had suffered. He felt deeply insulted by Song Que’s defiance and by how he had inspired courage in all the villagers of Li Village. How could he not? All this time, they had bowed their heads, obedient to every rule and action imposed by Wan Hong. But not anymore. This was the beginning—his chance to reassert his dominance, to ensure that such defiance would never happen again.Eight men formed a circle, including Wan Hong himself as the leader. He commanded them like a military officer. Perhaps he truly had once been one. Four of the eight attacked Song Que simultaneously from different directions.A sword swung through the air, its sharp whistle splitting the wind, carrying a terrifying force that would have easily overwhelmed an ordinary person. But today, they had chosen the wrong opponent.Today might very well be the celeb
