"Song Lin, come out!"

A shout rang out from the front of Song Lin’s residence, which stood quite far from the other houses. The residence had been given by Song Yang as a form of “reward” for his services, and it was placed at the edge of the village with the excuse that it could protect the village from criminals who might try to destroy it. But if one looked closely, there was no such intention at all. It was merely Song Yang’s scheme to push away those he considered useless to the village.

Now hundreds of people stood in front of Song Lin’s residence. They had received instructions from the village Patriarch to demand the expulsion of Song Lin and his son. The reason given was that Song Que had been possessed by a demon, and everyone who heard and believed that claim now wanted to drive Song Que away—along with the useless Song Lin, of course.

“If you don’t open the door right now, we’ll force our way in and destroy this little house of yours!” an angry voice shouted again. But it was not Song Yang who said it. Song Yang was far too relaxed to do such a thing. Simply standing there and watching with his hands behind his back already gave him great satisfaction.

His son stood beside him, laughing as well. Although there would no longer be someone to use as a punching bag, he even intended to kill Song Que as a final act.

Blame yourself for not having anything to protect your family, he muttered inwardly with pleasure.

“Don’t go out, Father! Let me face them. Father is sick right now!”

Even though anxiety filled his heart, Song Que showed a calm expression in front of his father. He quickly turned his head to hide his uneasiness and walked toward the door.

Creaaak!

The creaking sound of the fragile door echoed as Song Que pulled the handle. He had never imagined that the entire village would be standing in front of his house carrying weapons.

For what? his heart asked with hatred.

“Destroy them!” a whisper sounded faintly in his ear.

It could not be denied that Song Que’s hatred grew even stronger after witnessing this scene. Blood-red tears began to flow again, and everyone shuddered when they saw the blood-like liquid streaming from the corners of his eyes down his cheeks. Yet none of them stepped back.

“He really has become a demon! Look! Even his eyes are red like that!”

The voice sounded extremely provocative, reigniting the courage that had faltered earlier.

“I never thought you were this despicable, Head of the Medicine Hall! You are cursed!” Song Que shouted.

Throughout his life, he had never been taught to yell at elders. His father had raised him with strict discipline and without encouraging conflict. But now it was as if a dam had burst. The hatred that had long accumulated finally exploded.

A thick black aura burst forth from Song Que’s body once more. He truly looked like a demon—or even a God of Death ready to escort the villagers to the afterlife.

“Aaaaargh!”

Song Que grabbed his head and pressed it with all his strength as the whisper returned again.

“Destroy… kill…”

It felt like thousands of needles stabbing into his skull. The pain was unbearable. Visions of death haunted his mind, tempering his mentality—though no one knew what it intended to turn him into.

The black aura formed a spreading ring and released a powerful shockwave that pushed everyone away. Even Song Que’s own house lost half of its roof, blown away by the force.

No one dared speak after that incident. It was shocking that a child without a soul root possessed such terrifying black power. Even the strongest person present, Song Yang, was unable to resist the force of that black aura.

Song Que ran back inside. When he realized his father was calling him, he saw Song Lin lying weakly on the ground.

Immediately he helped him.

“Let’s go, Father. We are not wanted here!”

His body still emitted a black aura, but his mind remained conscious. His love for his father had not diminished at all.

Song Lin felt a little afraid of his son. That black aura made him want to stay away. But this was still his son.

He coughed blood and could no longer walk—he could not even leave the house.

“Father will leave soon… Use your power only to help those who truly need it.”

After saying those words, his body lost all strength. He collapsed to the ground. If Song Que had not caught him with all his strength, he would have hit the floor hard. Now that he possessed power, supporting his father was no longer difficult.

“No, Father! Why?”

A cry of grief echoed from within the roofless house.

Song Que looked at the villagers who had begun to retreat. He quickly rushed outside and leaped into the air.

“This is all because of you! My father is dead! If you do not attend his funeral, I will not forgive you!”

His voice became louder, and the power contained within his body was immense.

Song Yang felt slightly intimidated by Song Que’s strength. But he quickly shook off the fear and shouted,

“He’s just a child! Let’s kill him before he becomes feral. For the sake of justice, we must kill this demon!”

“Kill the demon!”

“Kill the demon!”

“KILL THE DEMON!”

The villagers who had initially been frightened quickly turned around and raised their weapons again. They began chanting the words spoken by Song Yang, following their village leader.

“Demon… demon… You shout demon, yet you are truly unaware!” Song Que said.

Indeed, he had already been consumed by his savage impulses.

Inside his body, an unseen figure laughed as the situation worsened.

“This is the oath I swore to your ancestors… so don’t blame me.”

The figure watched the battle unfold while sending its black energy into Song Que.

In truth, it was not that Song Que could not absorb energy. The entity within his body had been absorbing it in order to awaken. That was why Song Que had never been able to cultivate. His physical condition was extremely poor because that entity had absorbed so much of his life essence.

The battle began.

One person against a hundred.

It made no sense—especially since the opponent was only a child whose strength should have been far below everyone else present.

But strangely, Song Que’s power continued to increase every time he killed someone. It was as if his strength was nourished by slaughter.

His aura grew thicker and more terrifying.

After killing ten people, Song Que unknowingly broke through to the peak stage of the Black Realm.

His body, now controlled by the entity, moved with extraordinary agility. The memories of training stored in his mind were executed perfectly. Even though Song Que’s body had never fought before, the knowledge he had read in his father’s books remained in his memory—and those movements were now being used in real combat.

It was not as if he suffered no wounds. Some villagers had managed to land strikes on his small body.

Yet Song Que, under the entity’s control, never cried out in pain. Those wounds also began to close on their own—slowly but surely.

His body was drenched in blood.

Not only his own, but also the blood of others that had splashed onto him.

From hundreds of villagers, only dozens remained.

And every time he killed more people, his strength increased again.

It was an utterly insane method.

His body absorbed the aura of death and hatred filling the area, while the entity inside him gathered that energy and rapidly refined it to strengthen Song Que’s foundation.

Now he had surpassed a major realm.

He had entered the Initial Stage of the Fighter Realm.

At the Initial Stage of the Fighter Realm, his level was already equal to the genius youths of surrounding villages. But the Dark Element was extremely terrifying when it struck the body—it could erode strength and weaken opponents.

That was exactly what Song Que was doing now. His body had successfully controlled the Dark Element.

Only a few people remained now, including Song Bai and Song Yang. The father and son had been deliberately left alive by Song Que.

The others had already fled, unwilling to die after witnessing Song Que’s ferocity.

Song Yang stared in horror at Song Que, who was now looking straight at him. Never in a million years had he imagined that this child would become so terrifying once he gained power.

He did not realize that Song Que’s body was being controlled.

“Stop, Song Que! We apologize for our mistakes!”

But Song Que continued staring silently.

One by one, everyone dropped to their knees.

Thud!

Their knees struck the ground almost simultaneously.

They had reached the same decision.

Before a mere child, more than a dozen people threw away their pride and dignity just to survive.

“You are not worthy,” Song Que said as he walked forward with overwhelming dominance.

That presence dragged everyone into an illusion of death.

But after taking a few steps, Song Que suddenly stopped.

He froze like a statue, standing completely still.

“Did he die from exhaustion, Father?” Song Bai whispered into Song Yang’s ear.

And suddenly, all the kneeling villagers began screaming while clutching their chests in pain.

“Aaarrrgh!”

At this moment, Song Que took out a box of needles. The box was golden, with an engraving of a flying crane on its lid. Inside were seventeen needles of varying lengths, carefully crafted to perfection. No one knew who had forged such high-quality golden needles. In truth, a complete set consisted of eighteen needles. However, Song Que always kept one needle inside his storage ring—ready to be used at any moment, whether for healing… or for silently taking a life. Though small, the needles were not merely tools of medicine—they were deadly weapons as well. In a short time, Song Que had mastered both aspects. With such skill, he could already be called a Heavenly Hand Physician. After Gong Hanbu was laid on the bed, Song Que stood beside him. He reached out, placed his fingers on the pulse, and began injecting his energy into Gong Hanbu’s body. Everyone waited anxiously for the results. They had never seen such a miraculous physician before. But if Song Que truly was one, then g

“Patriarch!” everyone greeted Gong Juan as he arrived with Song Que.Gong Juan waved his hand and asked, “How is the situation?”“Not good, Patriarch. Look at him—he’s starting to tire, but we don’t know how long the chains will hold. If they break, none of us may survive!” Gong Pei explained.Gong Juan looked at the clan ancestor—his own father. He remembered clearly that his father had once been a kind man, someone who avoided conflict. He had always been honest and highly respected, having reached the Peak Stage of the Energy Core Realm. He was the only one in the Gong Clan to reach such a height, elevating the clan to a first-tier power. But ever since his father developed this madness, the Gong Clan had declined sharply to a second-tier force. If things continued like this—if the illness remained uncured or if the ancestor were to die—they could fall to a third-tier clan. And that would be disastrous.Third-tier clans were often oppressed. Many of them constantly sought to rise b

In fact, her age was nearly the same as that of her nephews.Hearing the news, everyone immediately rose from their seats. It had been about a month since their ancestor last suffered a relapse of his madness. Now, they had to administer calming medicine again to suppress it. However, the real difficulty lay in the ancestor’s strength—if not handled quickly, it could easily kill.Just the previous month, nine guards had already died. Now, who knew how many more would fall? They hurried toward the underground chamber. Along the way, Patriarch Juan suddenly remembered Song Que.“You all go ahead. Try not to get too close—just hold him off for now. Hopefully, the chains can still restrain him. I’ll go fetch som

Arriving at the Gong ClanSong Que entered the territory of the Gong Clan. The clan itself was located in a large city known as Green City. They headed toward a fairly large residence, led by Gong Juan.“Welcome to my residence, Young Master Song. I hope you don’t mind staying for a night or two—or even longer!” Gong Juan now acted somewhat respectfully. In this world, strength stood above wealth. Although he was wealthy, his strength was far below that of Song Que, who was still young. And the world respected the strong. That was why he treated Song Que with such courtesy. Building a relationship with him would only bring greater honor to his clan.He was very certain that even if all the Fighter-level experts in his clan were gathered together, they still wouldn’t be able to stop Song Que. For some reason, that confidence had firmly taken root in his heart. And it wasn’t without reason. He knew clearly that Wan Hong had reached the Middle Stage of the Fighter Realm, yet he had been

The Sword Eye and the pinnacle of magic were two existences capable of killing with nothing more than a gaze. However, reaching such a level required time and profound experience. There were specific stages to it—but there was no need to discuss them now.Wan Hong spoke,“You truly have potential, young man. I admire you. If you kneel now, I will forget that you beat my subordinates. And you can come with me.”Of course, Wan Hong had already thought things through. Even if he defeated Song Que, there would still be a price to pay. And in his weakened state, many predators would emerge—like tigers hunting a wounded deer. So, the best option in his mind was to make Song Que kneel and submit. As for himself, kneeling before a mere youth was unthinkable. That would be like inviting lurking predators to mock a lone wolf king separated from its pack.“I’ll give you a chance. Kneel and follow me, and I will forget everything that has happened!” Wan Hong repeated.“I’ll give you that same cha

The “painful greeting” was merely an expression—like a form of salutation. And Wan Hong wanted a greeting that would hurt, as repayment for the humiliation he had suffered. All this time, they had bowed their heads, obedient to every rule and action imposed by Wan Hong. But not anymore. This was the beginning—his chance to reassert his dominance, to ensure that such defiance would never happen again.Eight men formed a circle, including Wan Hong himself as the leader. He commanded them like a military officer. Perhaps he truly had once been one.
