After our little chat, we finally decided that it's time I get a job and for that my aunt casted a spe...

' Wait, a spell!!' I inwardly yelped.

"...Mom, why do you have to cast a spell when we are going to do the ritual for my job ?" I asked.

" I know what you are thinking but we have to cast a protection array spell. After all, it is not always that we do a ritual to the 'heir to the throne of darkness' " aunt Rias said, which annoyed me a little as if she was referring me to a exotic creature.

" Don't worry young master Lucas, just like your mother who is overreactive, lady Rias is too honest to the point that their is a rumour which is- "

" th- thats enough!!"

" And who are you calling overreactive Julia?" 

" Nobody viscountess" 

after this little quarrel a huge magic circle was floating in the middle of the room, while all the furniture simply disappeared.

' I can't wait to get my first job after seeing this.' I thought with excitement.

" All right all done, Lucas come here." after being called I went to aunt Rias.

" what do you know about job ritual ?" she asked while giving some final touches to the magic circle.

" That their are only two requirements, first one should be jobless and second one should come into the contact with world energy of zula" I answered with a calm tone.

" Wait, you only know what are requirements for ritual but don't know the actual process." she asked with a surprised tone.

"....I thought it was a national level secret because only the things which I said before were available in one book." I said.

" A-actually it was my doing because you once said that you want a job as soon as possible, that's why I never let anyone mention it or keep any records of it in the mansion." my mother said averting her gaze, when she noticed my dry look after what she said.

"haah fine, listen Lucas this is the purest orb in existence and it has a peculiar name known as origin orb this can only be created by high ranking intelligent beasts, it doesn't have much purpose because the only thing it does is it allows someone to come into direct contact with world energy but their is something you should know, it will only allow a person who is ready to handle the power of world's law. so even if you failed don't become upset." after listening her l just looked at my mother with the same dry look as if asking ' why I didn't know anything about it ?'

But my mother just smiled as if saying' it was necessary.'

"haah okay, so I just have to touch this orb and try to feel the world energy, if I am able to sense it then the ritual is success then I will get my job and if it's a falure I will not get a job, alright?" I asked as if recalling it.

' Don't worry, this ritual is going to be success as long as I am here.' Uriel said in a prideful tone.

" Fine, let's do it." my eyes brimming with determination.

After that I stepped in the magic circle, where a pure white orb was floating in the middle but before touching the orb. I said in my mind while looking at everyone:

' I... refuse to give my life away just because I can't help it !!' I said.

' That's just how you should be, instead of giving up you should just face everything head and no matter which path you choose I will always be with you, even though I am not allowed to interfere with your choices, your ambitions. I am will still be with you in your sorrows.' she said.

During this past five years, Uriel and I have come a lot closer and we also have come to mutual understanding as Uriel's goal is to see my growth, she has declared that as long as I don't ask for something she will not infere even with recommendations or suggestions.

' Though, I don't know if you will ever accept me, when you want -... no, my only purpose is to help him and see how his life turns out and will he ever be able to let his indifferent attitude change.' Uriel thought without letting me know.

of course, five years is a long time and is enough to even let the someone who has lived millions of years like Uriel to change her view towards me and others, but unlike her, who has changing her point of view a little me on other hand haven't made any change in my attitude except for little closeness to my mother and her servants.

After what seemed like a eternity, I finally stepped forward and looked at the floating white orb, this orb was a size of football, it didn't have a glow neither was it bright or reflecting light. It seemed as though this was the purest thing I have ever seen in my whole.

I finally took a deep breath and let it go, this is going to be the day which will decide if I live or die.

Either I will be able to live with this loving people with my own strength or my own powers will be the reason for my demise.

I touched the orb with both of my hands and felt something warm slowly entering my body through my hands and instead of fighting against it, I let it in. As if the energy got the permission to enter when it noticed my will to not fight against it, it started to enter my body with a noticeable speed.

Suddenly, the sclera or the white part of eyes turn pitch black and my sapphire jewel eyes lost its colour, seeing this athanasia was about to intervene when she felt a delicate but firm hand on her shoulder. It was non other than Rias, she said," As you can't decide everything for him, you also can't stop or intervene what he is doing or is going to do. If you can't even understand this, what will you do when he decides to back to the place where he truly belongs, even if your ex-husband left you, you know they will do everything to take him back just because their blood flows in him, you can fight against them and you have the strength but what if he himself decides to stay with them ?" 

When Rias finished her sentence athanasia backed off and everyone's, including her mood became gloomy just by thinking of Lucas going away from them, even of Lily who Lucas thought doesn't like him.

But Unbeknownst to him, he had entered a place completely devoid of light.

' uh, where am I ? ' I thought.

' hey, I know this feeling it feels like when I was in the dimensional gap with uriel.' I thought.

" Son..." when Lucas heard this word, his expression took a 360° turn and he felt chills all over his body.

" Son, come here.." said a beautiful woman in her mid forties.

" Come here, my love.." This voice was of a woman in her late twenties.

"...so that we can use you !!? " said both woman's as if predator with insatiable greed written over their expression.

' hehe...' I smiled after being stunned for a bit, looking at their behaviour.

' hahahaha...' I started laughing like a maniac.

' who do you think you are ? ' I asked after laughing for a while with a authoritative tone with cold expression.

' I am not the person you both fooled, here I am the one who decides everything' I said while walking towards them.

' you can't do anything against me, you don't have the right to do anything, here I. AM. THE. ABSOLUTE.' I said, my face devoid of emotions as if I was looking down on them and their presence was nothing.

Both the woman disappeared and suddenly I heard a voice.

" So, this is your ambition, I was going to eliminate you for entering my world and trying to steal my powers but it seemed like you will become someone necessary to me." 

The voice was weird and mysterious but after that I felt myself going unconscious but I didn't fight to stay conscious because it seemed like it was necessary.

While all of this happening in my mind, in the outside world something completely different was happening.

Suddenly, Lucas's body become still while his Lightless eyes were in daze but suddenly the whole origin orb became jet black as if, it fell from heaven to hell but after sometime the black energy broke free from the white orb and covered his entire body. The black energy was a dense pitch black fog but after covering my body it became harden yet flexible as if a complete mass of energy. After sometime this energy entered lucas's body and his body after coming in the view started to float, his eyes glowing, Except for sclera and veins near his eyes popped up while glowing with white light, after a instant my body fell on the ground while the orb shattered in millions of pieces.

Before losing consciousness I heard:

( Your job has been chosen, while keeping your birth title ' heir to the throne of darkness ' in view while giving you a job.)

( Your Job is the 'Knight of Lightless shadows'.)
