When the security guard saw him hold his collar, he angrily rolled his eyes and looked at Oliver's screen.
Seeing a message indicating that 10 million dollars had been accredited into Oliver’s account as a bonus, his body shivered.
Of course, he wasn’t a fool, for a bank to give 10 million dollars as a bonus to their customer, the customer's balance wouldn’t be less than 2 billion.
"Thud!" He fell to his knees to apologize.
"S…S… Sir, please forgive me. I was blind not to let you in but argue with you. Please don’t take this matter to your heart. I have a wife and two kids at home. If I am fired, then that is the end of my family." The security guard begged as his shoulders continued to shake from crying.
He was wise to know that since Oliver had such a huge amount in his account, he would be fired if he reported it to the manager.
Hearing the security guard’s pleading words, Oliver sighed. He didn’t take the matter to heart because even though the security looked down on him, it was still his work.
"Get up, I have no problem with you." Oliver said
"R– really?" He joyfully stood up and thanked Oliver. Oliver nodded and walked into the hotel.
On his way, he kept pressing his phone, so he failed to notice a lady approaching and mistakenly bumped into her.
Oliver was taken aback when he saw the lady he had run into. She looked delightful as she wore blue pants and a plain pink top, revealing a charming figure.
Not only was she beautiful, but her temperament showed that she was someone with a powerful background because a man who was dressed in a black suit as a bodyguard followed her.
"Hey, don’t you have eyes? How dare you bump into the young Miss?" The bodyguard who followed her yelled.
"Bump?” Oliver thought out loud.
"Didn't your young Miss also see me coming? Why didn't she avoid me? Why did she also bump into me?" Oliver questioned with a brow raised.
"You brat, do you know who she is? Kneel down and apologize before I break your legs!"
Hearing the bodyguard’s threat to break his legs, Oliver smiled without an iota of fear on his face.
"She’s your young Miss, not mine, so there’s no need for me to know who she is, right?" He said with a playful smile.
Despite the fact that the lady appeared to be from a powerful family, Oliver was unconcerned. There was no way he was going to be an ass licker because of someone’s personality.
Oliver’s words enraged the bodyguard. "Gentleman, since you’re not ready to apologize to Miss Ynes, then go to hell!"
He balled his hand into a fist and attempted to punch Oliver in the face, but the young Miss' words stopped him on his track.
"Ryker, stop it!" She said with a frown.
Ryker retracted his blow upon hearing Ynes's command.
"I'm sorry, Miss Ynes, I acted rashly just now, please punish me," he apologized.
"I’ve told you several times to learn how to control your anger, you can’t be a bully because you feel you’re stronger than the other person."
Hearing Ynes' words, Oliver was moved. "It seems she’s a beauty with brains, that’s good." He murmured.
"Hello, I am Ynes Larking from Boston Hill’s Larking family and am sorry for what happened just now." Ynes apologized to Oliver.
Oliver was stunned upon hearing Ynes say she was from the Larking family. Indeed, the Larking family was one of the most powerful families in Boston Hills. He had heard rumours of the Larking family’s young mistress being a beauty and didn’t expect to meet her, especially in a situation like this.
Oliver nodded, and without wasting time, he turned around and left.
"Miss, why did you stop me from dealing with that rude soul?" Ryker asked after Oliver had left.
Ynes smiled and said, "He’s not rude, I just love his willpower."
"Despite knowing my identity, his attitude remained unchanged. This is the first time I've been impressed by a guy." She smiled with her eyes narrowed. It was obvious she had something in mind.
"Let's leave." She said and started walking towards the parking lot with her grumpy guard trailing behind her.
….
Oliver entered the hotel and walked to the reception.
"Hello, I want to book a suite." He told the receptionist.
Seeing Oliver’s shabby garments, the lady frowned. How could someone dressed in that manner be allowed into the hotel, was it not a disgrace for their hotel?
"Sorry, there are no rooms left and all the suites are booked, so please, leave." The lady replied in an unpleasant tone.
"Rooms and suites were all booked out, was that a joke?" Oliver was surprised. There were more than 200 rooms and suites in Empire because it had a lot of visitors so he was sure the lady was lying to him.
The only reason could be that she was looking down on him.

Chapter 428: Vespera Shot
The cacophony of gunfire gradually began to subside as Vespera and her remaining men pressed deeper into the warehouse. Dust particles danced in the slivers of light that pierced the shadows, casting an ethereal glow on the scene of chaos they had unleashed. The once formidable gang members were now scrambling, their coordinated efforts unraveling under the relentless assault from Vespera’s team.Vespera took a moment to steady her breathing, her eyes scanning the dimly lit interior for any signs of movement. Her twin pistols, still warm from the earlier exchanges, were firmly gripped in her hands. She glanced over to her lieutenant, Marcus, who was crouched behind a stack of crates, tending to a wound on his shoulder.“Marcus, status report,” Vespera commanded softly, her voice cutting through the lingering tension.Marcus glanced up, wincing as he pressed a makeshift bandage against his injury. “We’ve neutralized the majority of their front line. A few are regrouping near the easter
Chapter 427: Vespera Men vrs The Gang
Boom!” Boom!”Gunfire thundered through the warehouse like a crack of constant lightning, echoing off the metal walls. Vespera crouched behind a stack of crates, breathing heavily as she surveyed the confusion erupting around her. Across the open space, several of her men darted from cover to cover, exchanging bullets with the entrenched gang. The flickering overhead lights and the fading daylight outside cast strange shadows on everyone’s faces, making it hard to tell friend from foe at a glance.A sudden movement drew Vespera’s eye—a gang member peering out from behind a barrel. He was angling his rifle around, clearly targeting one of her flanking teammates. Vespera exhaled slowly to steady her aim. Boom!” With a single, crisp shot, she put a bullet through his chest. He staggered, eyes wide in disbelief, then collapsed to the concrete floor. His rifle clattered away from his limp fingers. No sooner had she taken that shot than chaos erupted on her left. Two of Vespera’s men work
Chapter 426: 2 killed
Inside the warehouse, tension hung as thick as the cigarette smoke lingering in the air. The men, on edge from the failed phone call, sat in uneasy silence while their boss poured himself another stiff drink. Suddenly, one of the gang members—a tall, lanky fellow wearing a threadbare jacket—stood up, fidgeting with his belt buckle. “Boss,” he mumbled, trying not to meet the scarred man’s gaze, “I need to step out. Gotta—uh—ease myself.” The boss, halfway through knocking back his liquor, merely grunted. No one else spoke. They watched the lanky man slip past the makeshift barricade of crates and head for the side exit. The heavy metal door groaned in protest as he shouldered it open and stepped out. Outside, the wind carried the faint rustle of footsteps—just enough to prickle the senses. The lanky man squinted into the darkness, blinked, and felt his heart slam in his chest. Figures moved in the shadows—silent, intent, armed to the teeth. It didn’t take long for him to recognize
Chapter 425: Vespera Arrival At The base
An hour later, Vespera and her men pulled off the main road and into a desolate stretch of industrial wasteland far from the heart of town. The drive had been tense but uneventful; now, their headlights illuminated cracked asphalt and abandoned warehouses, all standing silent under the pale glow of a few flickering streetlights. The pavement was riddled with weeds poking through the cracks, and torn chain-link fences ran along the perimeter, giving the area a forlorn, almost post-apocalyptic feel.As they brought their vehicles to a stop near a rusted sign that was barely legible, the hum of the engines cut out, plunging the surroundings into an eerie hush. In the distance, the faint outline of the gang’s base rose against the horizon—a hulking, squat structure of corrugated metal and boarded-up windows. It was set back from the main road, hidden amid tangles of overgrown brush and twisted piles of scrap. An occasional burst of light from a flickering floodlight revealed hints of move
Chapter 424: Logan Is A Family
As Vespera moved towards the car, she turned back to address her team, her expression steely."Before we head out, clean up these bodies," she instructed, her voice firm. "Make sure there’s no trace left behind. I don’t want any sign of this incident here."One of the guards stepped forward, nodding but looking at the black van parked nearby. "And the vehicle, ma’am? What do we do with it?”Vespera smirked, a hint of dark amusement in her eyes. "We’ll handle that too. Have it rebranded, stripped of any identifiers. Once it’s ready, it’ll be delivered to the local orphanage as a donation. They could use a decent vehicle more than these fools ever could."The guard’s mouth curled into a knowing smile as he nodded. "Understood, ma’am. We’ll get it done."The team moved quickly, setting about their tasks with military precision. Two guards began gathering the bodies, making sure every detail was accounted for, while others turned their attention to wiping down the van and removing any wea
Chapter 423: Vespera Wipes All
Grimacing with agony, the man gritted his teeth and clenched his fists, struggling to endure the searing pain that radiated from his wounded thigh. Each breath was a struggle. With a steely glint in her eyes, Vespera withdrew the gun from the man's lips and aimed it at his knee with chilling precision. Without a moment's hesitation, she pulled the trigger, the deafening boom of the gunshot reverberating through the air as a bullet tore through the man's knee, shattering bone and tissue with brutal force. The man's scream echoed through the night, his body wracked with agony as he collapsed to the ground, his shattered knee rendering him utterly helpless before Vespera's merciless interrogation. "Where's the address?" Vespera demanded once more, her voice cold. Gulping hard, the man's eyes darted nervously as he struggled to compose himself through the haze of pain and fear. Finally, with a shaky breath, he spoke in a voice barely above a whisper. "The address... it's..." he
