All eyes were fixed on the small object on Leo’s finger. They were stunned. The shimmering object seemed to hypnotize them all, leaving them unable to move.

“How could he possibly have that key…?” Beverly muttered to herself, filled with doubt.

Her body, still in a state of shock, immediately took a step back. She looked down and repeated those words over and over in her mind.

She would never forget what Leo used to be. Just an ordinary man with an empty bank account.

“Fake…” her eyes widened as the thought crossed her mind.

“Right, it must be fake!” she was now even more certain.

Now she lifted her head, her gaze filled with hatred toward Leo, and as a cynical smile appeared on her face, she spoke.

“That’s completely impossible! That key must be fake. Or, it’s just a cheap keychain. You can’t fool me, Leo. I’ve known from the start that you’re just a poor loser.”

A thin, mysterious smile was Leo’s response to Beverly’s accusation. He twirled the key slightly on his finger. “No. This is truly mine.”

Leo’s statement rang clear and firm. Beverly and Charles exchanged silent glances, yet their hearts raced with anticipation. Because in an instant, Leo—whom they considered a fraud—would be humiliated even further after being caught cheating.

Feeling that Leo was about to get into serious trouble, Gisele moved closer to him. Her hand tugged at Leo’s sleeve. The beautiful girl’s face drew near Leo’s ear.

“Leo, isn’t that going too far? You can’t keep lying like this!” She was genuinely worried Leo would get entangled in serious trouble.

The corners of Leo’s lips curved upward. He turned toward Gisele, calm and confident.

“I’m not lying. That’s my car.”

Gisele’s eyes widened. A loud laugh echoed. Charles, chest puffed out, looked at Leo with disgust.

“Leo…”

“Look, even the girl next to you is worried. Come on, stop your lies. Even someone as rich as me can’t afford a sports car like this. Let alone a scavenger like you. It’s not too late to confess and apologize.”

The key in Leo’s finger stopped turning. He clutched it as if it had just been snatched away. With confidence, Leo stepped forward.

“So, you’re admitting I’m richer than you. Because I can own this luxury car.”

Charles’s blood boiled. He widened his eyes and growled. “What did you say?”

With a small smile, Leo walked past Charles and Beverly. Then he raised the car key and pressed the button. The car’s lights flashed briefly, emitting a short beep—the alarm had activated.

Without Leo touching the handle, the car door slid open. Everyone’s eyes nearly popped out of their sockets.

Beverly pointed, trembling. “The car door opened! Is there a malfunction?”

“Malfunction?” Leo smiled gently. “There’s no such thing as a malfunction in my Porsche.”

Leo’s muscular frame slid into the driver’s seat. The seat fit him perfectly. It was as if the system knew his exact measurements.

Leo’s finger pressed the starter button. The car roared to life with a loud, powerful sound. Charles and Beverly felt parts of their bodies go numb from the engine’s roar.

It wasn’t just them; Gisele didn’t move from her spot, her eyes wide in response to what Leo had just done.

Leo stuck his head out the window. “Gisele, get in!”

Gisele got in, half in disbelief. Her heart was pounding. She couldn’t hide the happy smile on her face. This was the first time she’d ever sat in such an expensive car.

The car door closed on its own, leaving Charles and Beverly even more stunned.

“Y-you—” Beverly’s words trailed off. “You really own this Porsche, Leo?”

“Of course.”

His voice radiated genuine confidence. There wasn’t a trace of pretense.

“Gisele, let’s go. Our ears are too pure to listen to their chatter.”

The car’s window shot up. Then the car sped off with a roar that made her heart race.

Beverly’s eyes didn’t leave the Porsche until it disappeared around the corner. Something in her chest made her feel tight. Her hands clenched into fists, and she shot a sharp glare at Charles.

“Did you hear what he said? That man insulted us.” She snorted. “Are you going to let someone like him mock us? Charles, we have to buy a Porsche. Right now! I’ll shut that disgusting fatso’s mouth!”

“Shut up!” Charles’s voice broke the silence. He glared back at Beverly. The air around them seemed to boil; Charles’s face flushed red. “You’re crazy, suggesting we buy a Porsche right now? Don’t be ridiculous!”

Her short, shallow breaths only fueled his anger. “It’s not that simple! I don’t have much money. My BMW is just a used car worth 60,000 dollars. Buying a Porsche for 300,000 dollars is way too extravagant!”

Beverly’s eyebrows furrowed. She looked down. Her chest still felt hot.

‘No way! The price is too high. There’s no way someone like Leonard could afford it. Even successful Charles could only afford a car that costs five times less. There must be something about Leonard!’

Beverly’s mind raced. She tried to imagine all the possible ways Leo could have bought that car. But she couldn’t come up with a single one. It was all impossible! Leo was too poor.

Until finally, Beverly remembered the clothes Leo had been wearing earlier. Everything was cheap. Nothing was branded.

Her head snapped up suddenly, her eyes widening. “That’s a rental car!”

Then she turned to Charles, who was still frowning. Instantly, a sweet smile curved on Beverly’s red lips.

‘Huh, that must just be Leo’s trick. He deliberately rented a Porsche to show off. Someone who can’t even take care of himself like him would never be able to afford a luxury car. Charles is certainly better than him. I won’t let this man get away.’

Playfully, Beverly took the middle-aged man’s hand and pressed it against her soft chest.

“Uh… my love. I wasn’t serious about that. I prefer your BMW to a rented Porsche.”

Her index finger moved and traced Charles’s left chest. “Isn’t a BMW bought outright much more valuable? Right, honey?”

The man, who was still snorting, let Beverly stay by his side. He hissed as he glared at her.

“Yeah. You should feel lucky.”

Her expression looked surprised, momentarily distracting Leo. “What’s wrong, Leo? Did something happen?” Gisele’s soft voice brought Leo back to his senses. He nodded slowly as he looked away. “I’m really hungry. Let’s have breakfast.” Leo said, raising both his hands and stretching.
