Chapter 9

Instantly, the thugs turned to look at Leo with sharp stares. Someone they didn’t know had dared to disrupt their activities.

“Did he just talk to us?” one of them asked, confused.

The others simply shrugged, unconcerned, and turned their attention back to Lisa. Then one of them put his arm around Lisa as if they were close.

Lisa’s shoulders tensed up even more than before. Her face had turned pale, and she looked at Leo, hoping he would save her.

“H-help me…” she whispered.

Feeling pity for the woman, Leo could no longer just leave her like that. It wasn’t just because of the money he would receive.

“Miss, you’d better just stay quiet. I already told you to obey, then everything will be better.” The thug smiled, but it wasn’t a smile that was at all reassuring.

One of them tried sniffing Lisa and then grinned widely. “She smells so good.”

His eyes mischievously glanced at Lisa’s body, especially her firm chest. His lecherous grin spread uncontrollably.

Lisa’s eyes began to well up. Her lips moved, silently pleading to Leo. “Please… help--”

Leo narrowed his eyes slightly. The plea was clearly directed at him. Leo stepped closer, furrowing his brow slightly. His expression grew more serious.

“Hey, that woman doesn’t want to be with you guys. Stop right now.”

Leo’s advance was immediately blocked by two other thugs. One of them crossed his arms over his chest.

“What do you want, huh? You’d better not meddle in other people’s business.”

Leo glared at the man. His hands clenched into fists. “You’re the ones who should get out of the way. Let that woman go!”

The three thugs watched Leo closely. A fat man with a shabby appearance. A man with a build like this coming at them with an angry face made them find it funny. They laughed as they looked at each other.

“Turns out there’s someone who wants to be a hero.”

“Look at this jerk… acting all cool and making us look like criminals.”

One of them slapped Leo’s cheek. “You’d better eat your fill and go to sleep. We’ve got adult business to take care of. Get lost, pig!”

The man hugging Lisa suddenly hoisted her onto his shoulder like a sack of potatoes. Startled, Lisa tried to fight back by hitting his back. But he didn’t budge.

“Let me go!”

“Let go!”

The man just gave a lecherous smile to his two friends. “Let him be! We have more important business. This woman is still a virgin; we need to prove it, right?”

“Let me go! You bastard! Let me—” Tears began to fall from her eyes. “P-please…”

Leo stepped forward decisively. Then he grabbed the man’s arm. “Stop! Let her go!”

Leo’s hand was almost reaching Lisa, but the man quickly turned and grabbed Leo’s wrist instead.

His eyes glared sharply at Leo. His jaw tightened.

“You’re getting in the way, you bastard!”

His leg was already moving to kick Leo. However, Leo twisted the man’s arm first. The man immediately lost his balance, causing Lisa to nearly fall. But Leo quickly caught her with one hand and pulled her behind him. He set Lisa down on the floor.

The thug winced in pain. “Damn it! Beat this guy up, quick!”

Leo quickly struck the man’s neck, knocking him unconscious.

“How dare you!” Another thug grabbed a bottle and smashed it.

He then attacked, trying to stab Leo with it. Leo deftly knocked it away, so it wouldn’t hit him or Lisa.

Leo struck the man’s neck, causing him to freeze for a moment, before finally punching his chin hard enough to knock him unconscious.

“Don’t get cocky just because you can boxing!” The remaining thug raised both hands while taking a fighting stance. His stance indicated he had studied Muay Thai.

The man launched a knee strike from the side. But Leo read the move. He dodged and kicked the thug’s supporting leg, sending him crashing down in a split. His eyes bulged as he endured the excruciating pain in his groin.

Leo stepped on the man’s thigh, intensifying the pain in his groin. “A man’s destiny is to protect women. You lot are doing the exact opposite.”

Leo delivered a straight knee strike to the man’s face, knocking him out instantly.

Meanwhile, Gisele was stunned by the scene. Her eyes remained wide open, unblinking throughout the fight.

Her heart was pounding wildly.

‘Leo… he’s that skilled at martial arts,’ she thought. ‘Is this the amazing show he was talking about earlier?’

Without realizing it, Gisele thought about it while biting her index fingernail.

Leo turned toward Lisa. He approached her and extended his hand to help her stand up. “Are you okay, Miss?”

Lisa looked down, not wanting to look at Leo. She also refused his outstretched hand. Slowly, she stood up from where she was.

“Thank you.”

Leo gave a slight nod. He could understand that Lisa didn’t want to be touched. Being harassed like that by a man had traumatized her. But Leo remained calm and pointed to a bench for Lisa.

“Relax. They won’t bother you anymore; it’s safe now.”

Lisa glanced at the three thugs. They were completely unconscious.

Meanwhile, Gisele began to frown. The corners of her mouth turned down.

Her heavy breathing was accompanied by an annoyed hiss. “Why do Leo and that woman seem so close? They just met, right?”

Gisele didn’t know what she was feeling. But she sensed this was dangerous for her. Leo mustn’t get too close to that woman.

She stood up from her chair and walked over with determination.

“I can’t just let this slide.”
