Leo didn’t bat an eyelid when he saw the notification screen. His fingers began to scratch his thigh slightly.

“A potential target?”

At that moment, Leo was processing everything at lightning speed. Up until now, he’d only been focused on Gisele, who could provide him with money, but now it turned out there was someone else on the scene.

With the presence of another woman, he could earn even more money.

Spending money on Gisele alone could already earn Leo up to 2,000 dollars a day. What if there were two girls he was spending money on? Perhaps Leo could live comfortably without having to worry about a thing.

“I’ve already told you, you’d better leave.”

Leo’s attention snapped back to the situation when he heard Lisa’s shout. The three men didn’t leave; instead, they surrounded Lisa with repulsive expressions.

“Miss, don’t be so rude. We just want to be friends with you. Wouldn’t that be good for you?” One of the men touched Lisa’s cheek, only to be immediately swatted away by her.

“This is called coercion. You’re even asking me to come with you.” Lisa’s hands were clenched tightly.

Ben exhaled. “Don’t be so stubborn. You should just come along; you’ve got nothing to lose and we can make it fun for you.”

A chuckle sounded from beside Ben. Alberto nodded, repeatedly touching his lips because he was attracted to Lisa.

“Yes, it’s just a get-together to celebrate becoming our friends.”

Lisa’s clenched fist finally slammed down on the table. She snorted and glared at the three repulsive men.

“Have all three of your ears gone completely deaf? I’m not interested at all. Get lost.”

And the three men were still staring at Lisa with condescending looks, still trying to make little gestures to tease her. The more she was looked at, the more cornered Lisa felt.

The petite woman looked absolutely furious and stressed.

At the same time, Leo was watching. He knew he had to save her, just as he’d done with Gisele. But he was overcome by doubt.

“I can’t just go and help her,” Leo thought. “If I go over there, I might not make it out alive. They look like the sort who’re used to fighting.”

But if he didn’t save Lisa, he would lose the chance to earn even more money.

Leo snorted, clenching his fists. He was on the verge of backing down from his intention to help Lisa. Until, finally, the system screen reappeared before him. A message he had never seen before.

[Congratulations! You have access to the System Shop!]

[System Shop: You can purchase skills through the system. All skills you buy will be available for immediate use.]

Leo’s heart began to race. Unconsciously, he nearly jumped out of his seat.

“What? Then open the System Shop menu!”

[Welcome to the System Shop!]

[You can purchase any skills you like! Using the credits you already have.]

[Your credits: 800 dollars.]

Leo’s index finger swiped nimbly through the list of skills that appeared before him. His sharp eyes scrutinised the various skills intently.

His finger paused on a skill that caught his attention. A skill called Basic Fighting. Slowly, he tapped the image of the skill. The system immediately opened a window displaying the skill’s description.

[Basic Fighting]

[You can master basic martial arts moves for street fighting.]

[Price: 1,000 dollars]

Leo’s brow furrowed. He was now 200 dollars short. Leo desperately needed this skill to help Lisa. He let out another long sigh.

Gisele tilted her head. She shot Leo a suspicious glance. She’d been watching him for a while.

“What’s the matter, Leo?”

Leo’s attention shifted to Gisele. He raised his eyebrows slightly. “Yes?”

Gisele furrowed her brow. She leaned back slightly.

“What do you mean, ‘yes’? You were just talking to yourself about the System Shop, then moving your fingers in front of your face. Are you all right?”

Leo cleared his throat. He’d been so focused on the system that he hadn’t realised Gisele had been looking at him all this time.

“I’m fine.”

Gisele narrowed her eyes slightly. “Really?”

Leo nodded lightly, offering a faint smile. Gisele shifted slightly in her seat. Her finger lightly scratched the table near her empty glass.

Suddenly, Leo realised something. He immediately turned to the bartender.

“Please give this girl another Black Magic. Light.”

The bartender smiled and nodded. “Right.”

Gisele raised both her eyebrows. She fell silent for a moment. Her eyes didn’t blink as she looked at Leo.

Unlike before, when it had felt sincere, Leo seemed rushed in Gisele’s eyes.

“Leo, why did you order it? I’ve already had a glass.”

Leo shook his head with a faint smile. “You need more than one glass.”

Gisele furrowed her brow. “How can that be? You’ve already given me so much today.”

The girl shook her head. It was certainly very comfortable being near Leo. Gisele felt protected. But an expensive drink like Black Magic felt excessive.

Before Leo could reply, the bartender had already placed the black drink on the table. He slid the drink closer to Gisele. Gisele glanced at it, swallowing hard.

Leo smiled slightly. “Have a drink. It’ll refresh you, and it won’t get you drunk. If you don’t drink it, you won’t be able to see the interesting show.”

Leo pushed the glass closer to Gisele. Then, with a slow movement, Gisele took it. “Thank you…”

With a hesitant smile, Gisele felt happy. She sipped the drink little by little. It tasted luxurious, yet simple. The girl was thoroughly enjoying it.

Meanwhile, Leo’s eyes widened. He had successfully carried out his plan.

[Congratulations! You’ve received a $200 rebate from Gisele!]

[Your credit: $1,000.]

The man immediately stood up from his seat as soon as he’d pressed ‘yes’ on the shop system.

[Purchase successful]

At that moment, Leo felt something different coursing through his entire body, as if a new fighting instinct had just entered his system.

“Where are you going?” Gisele asked softly. But Leo didn’t answer her.

Leo walked towards the thugs who were harassing Lisa.

“Stop that!”

The thugs turned their heads with annoyed expressions. Meanwhile, Lisa raised her eyebrows.

Regina then cleared her throat.“I’m looking for—”“Whatever you’re looking for, it’s not here,” Gisele said curtly.Lisa narrowed her eyes. “You’ve come to the wrong place.”Regina’s hesitant smile faded further. She sensed that the two women standing before her hated her for some reason. And indeed, Gisele and Lisa suspected that Regina was the mistress of someone in this neighborhood. “Lunch?” Regina raised both eyebrows. Leo nodded, offering a faint smile. He felt he needed to make a good impression on Regina. Such potential would be wasted if not put to good use. Leo also didn’t want to miss out on the potential the system had given him with Regina. “Yeah. Lunch,” Leo said calmly. Regina was silent for a moment. It turned out Regina had a different perspective than Leo. She thought Leo was interested in her. In fact, there were quite a few men who wanted to get close to her. Usually, Regina would just ignore men like that, because most of them were only after her body. And yes, Regina was well aware that she was a beautiful and sexy woman. However, Regina looked at Cindy, who was now holding her hand. Leo had saved Cindy, risking his life to help a child he didn’t even know. Regina felt that Leo was a good person. He’s different from the people she’s met so far. “He’s not a bad person. Okay, it’s fine if I’m a little nice and give him my number, right?”
