Chapter 5 - Magneticum

"Mr Watson, it's so nice to have finally met you. Oak house has been running without it's leader for a long time." One of oak house's executives spoke fawningly.

"Please keep my identity a secret, I'm a high profile man, I hate to draw attention to myself. Continue to run oak house like you have been this whole time." Jake said to the executive.

"Yes Mr Watson."

Mysterious highest share holder of oak house. The person supposed to occupy the position of CEO?

How was this possible?

Those were Ron's thoughts thirty minutes later as he watched Jake come out of a meeting room with some oak house investors.

When Jake almost reached where Ron stood he felt his knees tremble slightly.

No, this couldn't be true.

He'd seen Jake working as Kylie James' secretary, how could he be the CEO?

Cold fear trickled into Ron's heart, had he offended a giant he shouldn't have offended?

"Did you hear what just happened? A con artist was caught stealing the identity of some tycoon, he lived as that billionaire for three months before he was caught. This is too scary." Some women were talking to each other and they passed Ron.

His eyes lit up with realization.

So this was a case of fraud.

It was absolutely impossible for a secretary to become a CEO overnight.

Ron's face lit up in a devious smirk.

'I will definitely expose you.'

What Jake didn't know yet was the fact that having mercy and sparing enemies meant they could get to stab you in the back when you least expect it.

Jake received this text from Anita later that night.

Earlier she'd looked at him with pure disbelief, her eyes were wide and incredulous. When she'd asked him how it was possible for him to be the biggest share holder of oak house, he'd only told her that he'd been buying and accumulating the shares while secretly working at the lowest position to observe. And he further asked her to keep it a secret.

He knew from reading webtoons that letting the world see your biggest ace was the key to attracting higher enemies. Jake wanted to live peacefully and enjoy a stress free life.

When he'd finished getting dressed for the party, Jake had received a notification from his phone.

*Ding! Car upgrade activated.*

Jake didn't understand what that meant until he reached the parking lot of the hotel and found a Toyota Highlander in place of his Mazda, he had been totally shocked.

That was the moment it fully registered into his brain that he'd gotten a system on his phone, just like the main characters in the webtoons he used to read whenever he was bored at work.

After having a luxurious breakfast at La Grande hotel's five star restaurant, Jake was sent another notification.

Jake instantly sat up, his eyes wide with excitement. He felt something suddenly appear inside his pocket and when he pulled it out, he found a silver card with the infinity sign on it.

"I have an hour to spend five million dollars?" Jake felt beyond excited.

He immediately jumped up and zoomed away in his car.

"Since I have this opportunity, I should do something I've always been meaning to do."

Everyone has plans and desires, but life tends to put down our plans and reality dampens those wishes, Jake was also like that. When he was a teen he used to have a lot of wishes, but when life snatched the opportunity to fulfill those wishes from him as he began to work a nine to five, he had to close his eyes to those things he wished to achieve in life, but now it seemed his story had finally changed.

He drove into Magneticum, the largest clubhouse in Eastside.

Magneticum was special in the sense that it offered an experience of pure luxury. No just anyone could access it but premium members, and these members are said to have paid huge amounts of money, but their members were said to enjoy the treatment of a monarch on a daily basis. Basically, if one wanted to feel like a king, then spending time at Magneticum could give one that experience.

"Hello, I'd like to purchase a membership please." Jake said at the reception.

The receptionist looked up at Jake and forced a smile. He didn't look like their usual members they received here. She felt strange having to be polite to this type of customer however their policy bound them to being kind, so she replied.

"Sure sir, may I see your ID?"

Jake retrieved his card and gave it to her, he almost thought he saw a sneer hang on the side of her lips, but it faded away before he could even register it.

'How annoying, these days anyone thinks they can come into Magneticum.' She thought but said instead.

"I'm sorry sir, your occupation does not permit me to give you any access into Magneticum. According to average stats, your earnings are below what our average customers pay, so please I'll have to ask you to leave." Though she had a smile on her face, it was evident she looked down on him.

Jake smiled and shook his head, "You seem to have concluded my bank balance by your words."

"A person's bank balance tends to show on their appearance sir." She looked at him from head to toe with disgust.

Jake looked down at himself. What was wrong with wearing comfortable clothes? Did he have to dress in luxury brands before he could be taken seriously?

"Alright, since you've made this conclusion, I won't bother you anymore."

Just as Jake turned to leave, a familiar man dressed in proud limited edition pieces walked into the revolving doors of Magneticum. Beside him, a beautiful woman with an enviable figure held onto his arm.

Jake hadn't seen Diana ever since she left and gave him divorce papers which he'd already signed by now. Seeing her walk in with Barry right now, he felt nothing but emptiness.

One could love someone with all their heart, but once all that love is gone, nothing is left but an empty heart and regret.

Jake had busted his ass day and night working to give Diana everything she wanted in the past, now he would make sure he sees regret in her eyes. This was a game he would definitely enjoy playing.

"Yo! Do street rats also come to Magneticum? What are you here to do, clean the dirt from our shoes?" Barry mocked laughingly. The receptionist was very enthusiastic in receiving Barry and Diana after she had totally put down Jake just now.

"My fiance and I would like a private room please, we specifically want it to be a luxury suite with an infinity edge pool, we would also like a set of staffs assigned to us to be at our beck and call, I'll pay an extra bonus if this guy here will be given as our errand boy for the day."

The membership of Magneticum was fixed, however one could pay extra to get special treatment. Every Magneticum member was treated like a king, with the exception of the VIP members who could dominate the entirety of Magneticum if they wanted to. There were only three VIP membership slots and two were already taken, the cost of it was never revealed to anyone not even ordinary members but it was rumored to cost from eight hundred thousand to a million dollars.

People like Barry couldn't afford to casually take out a million just to buy a membership, it would drain a large percentage of their pockets.

The receptionist was excited at the thought of extra bonus, she turned to Jake and called him hurriedly.

"Hey there, judging from your salary you must need an extra gig right? Come work as an errand boy for this couple today, Magneticum will pay you a rate of $60 per hour." It was already a generous amount for someone of Jake's status, the receptionist was sure he wouldn't refuse.

Jake however, was busy on his phone.

Diana looked at him and rolled her eyes. 'Wasn't he ashamed of bringing out this old model phone In public, just because he'd wrapped it up in a golden colored phone case doesn't make it any special. His phone was so outdated even people from ten years ago wouldn't use it.'

Barry was waiting for him to rush forward and agree to be their errand boy, he was already planning how he would use him to exhaustion.

"Hey, this opportunity is only going to come once. I'll advise you to grab it while it's lasts." The receptionist reminded and Jake finally raised his head from his phone.

"I'd like the biggest Magneticum suite, with two large pools and a Jacuzzi, I want a full staff of five star chefs assigned to me for an unforgettable dining experience, the suite must come with a high technology gaming room for me to pass the time. I'll pay double amount of extra fees to kick these two out, they're annoying and noisy."
