It was a tiring day for Archie. After unknowingly spending time until nightfall reading books in Layla's room, dinner that should be quiet has turned into a party celebrating his engagement to Layla.
Nonetheless, he discovered a lot of important knowledge about the injection. It was a drop item from a high-difficulty dungeon, but the person who could answer the question was not around.
On their way home, Archie only borrowed a few books from Layla. Even when night fell, Archie was forced to sleep in Layla's room, even though he spent the night reading the books that interested him so much.
Erick was riding a horse outside the carriage, observing the situation. "How was the party last night, Young Master?"
Archie pulled his book away from his face, “It’s tiring me out. Guests keep asking us endlessly," said Archie. "Layla used up all her energy, and she fell asleep as soon as the party over."
"Hahaha, I can even imagine our princess's face clearly," Erick laughed at Archie's words.
They left early in the morning, so they would soon arrive at Archie's village. From a distance, something anomalous could be seen.
"Young Master, Mr Erick, look over there!" shouted the coachman; he pointed ahead.
It was still early in the morning, but a black cloud rose and covered one area alone. Archie's village looks so dark, with occasional lightning flashes.
"Hey, guard!" Erick shouts to the coachman.
The coachman nodded as if he knew what he had to do. After spreading his arms, he chanted magic, “[Decry Agitate], [Acceleration Control].”
A blue-white light appeared to encase them, and in an instant, their horses became faster than usual. Archie didn't feel the vibrations inside the carriage, even though the road was uneven.
Upon entering the rural area, their vision became blurry due to the lack of light. They could hear people's screams and clashing metals.
The villagers ran away from a strange black spiral that suddenly appeared in the middle of the village.
Dozens of mummies gathered before the black spiral while three adventurers were fighting them.
A woman raised her wand and cast a spell. “[Protection], [Aegis].” The bodies of her companion glowed, and a male adventurer charged straight at the crowd of mummies.
The man clenched his hands, wrapped in a gauntlet, “[Shell Break].” He managed to scorch the mummies in one hit, followed by attacking the nearby monster, but the enemy surrounded him.
"Stay close to me," shouted the priest; she cast another spell, "[Blessing]." But the spell supposed to support her companion drew the monsters' attention to her.
“[PROVOKE!],” someone shouted. He carried a shield that was the same height as himself. After the deep purple color left his body, the mummies troupe turned their attention to him.
The gauntlet-man jumped, kicking and attacking the mummy with his skill. “[Revenirs].” One mummy was blown away and crashed into another after taking three consecutive hits.
"Now! Wipe them out," shouted shield-man. He was holding dozens of mummies who centered their attention on him.
The gauntlet-man nodded, putting on his strongest stance, “[Martial Skill: Mauler's Stance].” His body released a dangerous blue aura; he dashed toward the enemy and jumped, “[TERRABLAST!].”
His strike was so powerful that it formed a magic wave that shattered the ground. One of the lumps stuck out and became a stone wall for his two comrades, so they didn't get hit.
“As I thought, they would automatically target divine power users. Be careful," said the shield man to the priest.
The three adventurers still looked like they would be kept busy as one by one, the mummies kept coming out of the black spiral in front of them. But thanks to their alertness, most residents ran to a safer place. There were hardly any humans near the area.
Erick spurred his horse faster and immediately jumped straight into two mummies who were forcibly dragging a woman.
"Let her go, asshole."
Erick drew his swords from his back and slashed at the mummies. Thanks to that, the dragged woman was released and fell to the ground.
"Mother?!" Archie, who witnessed his mother being dragged away by a monster, also jumped from the carriage and ran toward them.
A streak of black light flashed from the black spiral’s direction and stopped right in front of the running Archie.
Bam! The ground shook, and Archie lost his footing. Along with that, he had been punched by someone.
“Ugh,” Archie groaned. The blow pushed him back, and he fell to his knees.
Archie stared at the figure standing before him, enduring the pain and tightness in his stomach.
The figure looked like an ordinary human wearing a black cloak. Most of his body was wrapped in bandages, and he wore a mask.
“Tutankhamun?” said Archie as soon as he saw the mask.
Noticing the black figure darting from the spiral’s direction, the three adventurers and Erick hastily chased after him and tried to protect Emeline.
"Khudh tilk almar'a," the masked figure whispered. A black ball that fits in his hand emerged from both hands. He tossed the ball casually, and the black ball burst to form a mummy creature.
The mummies neighed meaninglessly and then dived towards Emeline, who was still trying to get up.
"You guys are annoying."
A book hovered near the masked figure. The page flipped swiftly in a flash, and then he cast magic.
“[Sîhr: Hàyt].” A magic circle formed on the ground, the light grew brighter, and a powerful magic wave blew everyone away from its reach.
While everyone was trying to get back on their feet, another incantation was cast by the same figure.
“[Sîhr: Astrál Lãncè].” The magic circle spun wider, and then a purple light shot out toward all the humans within its range, like a controlled missile, the magic aimed at everyone in his surrounding.
Archie was also blown away, but he managed to hold onto a rock that was sticking out. From that distance, he saw that Erick and the three adventurers had fallen and didn't get back up.
Then his gaze shifted to his mother, her face forcefully lifted by the masked figure.

Ch. XVIII: Singularity
As the group entered the city, they saw that chaos had already begun to unfold. Buildings were on fire, people were screaming and running for their lives, and there were strange creatures roaming the streets. Akhem and Harlequin seemed pleased with the destruction they had caused, but Archie felt a pit in his stomach."What have you done?" he asked, looking at them with horror."We have done what needed to be done," replied Harlequin. "We are bringing change to this world, and sometimes that requires sacrifice."Archie shook his head, unable to comprehend the cruelty of their actions. "This isn't change, it's destruction. Innocent people are dying because of your actions."Akhem chuckled. "Innocent? There is no such thing as innocence in this world. Everyone is guilty of
Ch. XVIII: Eccentricity
As the group made their way through the desert, Archie couldn't shake the feeling that something was off about the situation. The sandstorm had died down, but the air was still thick with dust and it was difficult to see more than a few feet in front of them. Akhem and Harlequin led the way, with Archie following closely behind.Suddenly, Akhem stopped in his tracks, causing Harlequin to bump into him from behind. Archie almost ran into Harlequin as well, but managed to stop just in time. "What's going on?" he asked, confused.Akhem turned to face them, his eyes scanning the horizon. Ch. XVIII: Peculiarity
Harlequin and Akhem exchanged glances before turning back to Archie, who was still trying to process the information. "We don't expect you to make a decision right now," said Harlequin. "We understand that this is a lot to take in. But we hope that you'll consider it and join us in our cause."Archie remained silent, unsure of what to say. He had always thought of himself as an ordinary person, not someone with the power to change the world. The idea of possessing a grimoire and using it to achieve such a goal was overwhelming. After a few moments of contemplation, Archie spoke up. "I need some time to think about this. It's a big decision, and I can't just jump into it without knowing all the facts.""Of course," said Akhem. "Take all the time you need. But keep in mind that the longer we wait, the more difficult i
