Just as James left, Eric's phone rang. He answered, and Mr. Sterling's voice was on the other end.

"Mr. Wood, we need to talk," Mr. Sterling said, his voice firm.

"Yes, What is it, Mr. Sterling? Any new information?" Eric asked. His mind is still on the argument with James.

"We need to call a board meeting for tomorrow to discuss the future of EMC," Mr. Sterling said. "Specifically, who will take over Mrs. Lee's position."

Eric's eyes widened in surprise. "Already? But she hasn't been proven guilty yet..."

"The evidence is there. There's no way the court will plead her innocent. We can't wait any longer. We need a permanent solution before things get out of hand," Mr. Sterling said.
